too bad the Cubs nabbed him before he got to the Phillies
that would have been rich. A’s trade for the guy from the Phillies, pay him and give 3 years of minor league experience so that he is ready for his MLB debut, and then give him back to the Phillies to reap the benefits (I know that last part is totally unlikely – at least in regard to him actually producing at the major league level)
A question to ponder:
Would you have traded Cardenas for Gomes, if the situation had presented itself?
MoneyManWilliam - February 6, 2012
None of the above
Probably wouldn’t have signed Gomes. Also don’t care that Cardenas is gone – didn’t see him having a big league career.

yes

2009 Jonny Gomes?
Yes. 2011 Gomes? eh….yeah, probably.

so should i drop him from the 10 player minor league roster on my fantasy keeper team yet?

His value just went up
Switching from O.CO to Wrigley should give him a nice offensive boost, (if he makes the majors that is).
