So based on that last thread, there seem to be some people confused with the point of AN. Let me remind you:

Yes, this is a baseball blog.

WOOT, 100% IN THE POLL
doctorK - January 8, 2012
Hiya doc!
BOOBIES!
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
I'm actually optimistic about the 49ers chances next week.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
me too.
who are they playing?
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
The New Orleans Brees.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
I don't usually ask for anything nor celebrate my birthday
but a Saints and Patriots win would be super cool
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
is your birthday next Sunday?
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
recheck the playoff schedule
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
Saturday?
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
ding
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
I had a 50-50 chance.
I chose poorly.
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
yay! w is on the 12th and g is on the 16th!
Athletica - January 8, 2012
I'm on the 10th.
Of April, though. Just something to keep in mind.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
I'm in a different month that starts with A
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
Hmm, that's a tough one. So many to choose from.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
well, I didn't tell y'all the day of the month, so it's a little tougher than y'all thought....
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
I don't think it's hard to pick the month, though.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
fine, everyone can send me presents all month then
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
I believe in celebrating my birthday year.
It begins at midnight on April 10, and ends the following year at 1159pm on April 9.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
Amarch?
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
It's gotta be.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
I'm in the SAME month that starts with A
Berry Jo - January 8, 2012
same as my kid! Hope I remember!!!
Berry Jo - January 8, 2012
Your daughter is also April 10?
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
yup
Berry Jo - January 8, 2012
The Pats will oblige, but not the Saints.
Sorry.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
Sonic burgers are tasty.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
There is a distinct lack of curling in that poll.
Kyli - January 8, 2012
haters gonna hate
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
And synchronized swimming.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
well, I didn't want to post the obvious winner, duh....
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
what poll.....I missed it
Berry Jo - January 8, 2012
JK NM
Berry Jo - January 8, 2012
If all is going according to plan, my parents are currently sitting in IAD, awkwardly not talking while awaiting a flight to Dubai.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
that's going to be a very long flight to Dubai....
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
Watching this truffle thing on 60 Minutes is making me hungry.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
up next except on the west coast
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
It's on right now.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
On the least coast, that is.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
so. hi. I'm Bloom.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Hi Bloom. I'm Ozz.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
nice to meet you.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
You too.
Whatcha up to?
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
all I can and the easy ones twice.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Sounds productive.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
exhausting, really.
It was easier in my 30s…
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Naps are so underrated.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
and helpful!
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Usually.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
hi
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
I know your face.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
time to switch things up then
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
hmmm.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
hi bloomie!
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
hiya gigs. how's your head?
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
doing well
I get tired easily though and I still have a little headache, so naps are required. Of course, when I’m all healed, I’ll still insist that naps are required….
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
naps are helpful!
[whoa….deja vu…]
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Geez, it must be time for primaries.
A Mittens commercial, followed by She Turned Me Into A Newt, and finally an ad for The Crazy Texan.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
that guy from Texas is actually still spending money? Seems...irresponsible.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
It's campaign money. He can't really do anything else with it, can he?
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
roll it over til next time.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Ok, gotta go for a bit.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
bye ozzhead.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Cheese grater to the yambag ouch
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
So this is the first time that I've really seen Tebow play for a while
He throws really funny. I can’t quite put my finger on it, and it’s not just because he’s a lefty, but it looks odd.
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
it is the wobble and the weird way he opens his hips
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
Yeah
He seems like every throw, he was putting out twice the effort that Roethlisberger was.
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
effort should not make up for lack of skill, but it seems to with him.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
His bread and butter and running around crazily in the backfield
as his WRs break downfield. You can’t really game plan that as on OC and as a DC you just hope your DBs don’t lose their coverage
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
It works, though
I did like seeing the option come back to the NFL though.
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
we'll see if chaos theory works in the NFL...
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
It works but it is such a gamble you can't go into a game saying this is our plan.
It comes from a lack of reading coverage and not throwing before the WR breaks. So he does create things out of nothing in a sense that he saw nothing, then does crazy shit behind the line and viola deep pass completion when he is accurate.
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
The only time he seems fluid is rolling left throwing off one foot
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
he's...different. Always was.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
I gotta give him credit, he made a couple of pretty throws.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
I thought this was kind of an odd entry
On an “Eat this, not that,” post… 20 habits that make you fat:
No. 16: Having overweight friends. Harsh but true.
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
(No. 16a : avoid going to AN parties hungry)
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
I read panties
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
you should go to AN panties hungry.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
pretty sure that's something you can eat
and not worry about gaining weight
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
"Tebow? Oh, he was a good boy....always stood still while I hemmed his pants..."
“Do you think he shot Buckwheat?”
“Oh, sure! That’s all he ever talked about!”
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
Going away now, probably not back later, but maybe.
Leopold Bloom - January 8, 2012
okies, see ya
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
g'night bloomie!
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
night, bloom!
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
Worst baseball movie ever?
I’m going with Ed.
YonYonson - January 8, 2012
I had forgot that was made, which isn't a bad thing
Copenhagen - January 8, 2012
I did too
I might watch it tonight, just for the hell of it.
YonYonson - January 8, 2012

Copenhagen - January 8, 2012

I did get the three items I went to purchase…..and just a wee bit more….
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
I walk in to buy some toothpaste and walk out with 3 bags of shit, 100 bucks poorer.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
I hope you at least remember the toothpaste
I hate when I forget to buy the one thing I went there to get….
gigglingone - January 8, 2012
My policy now is to start by getting the things I came for.
Then I wander the store and find the stuff I never knew I couldn’t live without.
ozzman99 - January 8, 2012
me too. AlWAYS HAPPENS
Berry Jo - January 8, 2012
I'm pretty good when shopping, for anything but food, of just getting what I went for.

I nearly had two crashes today: a fawn and a cyclist.
OldhamA - January 9, 2012
Huh....
I just found out, the A’s signed Fabio.
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
I think you might be disappointed when he takes off his shirt
Copenhagen - January 9, 2012
*sigh*
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
I wish he was a shortstop.
Kyli - January 9, 2012
everybody wish elcroata a Happy B'day if he shows up :)
emperor nobody - January 9, 2012

gigglingone - January 9, 2012

stm72 - January 9, 2012
I want to be elcroata when I grow up.

How is everyone tonight?
YonYonson - January 9, 2012
I'm great!
…because I’m on vacation all week. Of course, I haven’t started any of the projects around the house I need to finish yet….but I’m working up to it.
Englishmajor - January 9, 2012
Nice!
YonYonson - January 9, 2012
sitting here with blais, watching the pats beat the jets on nov. 13th. and braising chickie's thighs.
Athletica - January 9, 2012
Are they succulent?
Englishmajor - January 9, 2012

Athletica - January 9, 2012

YonYonson - January 9, 2012

Athletica - January 9, 2012
I think I need to win the lottery
Or sell my dignity to a reality TV show. That’s how people get rich now, right?
YonYonson - January 9, 2012
You could spin your blog off into a book and get it optioned by Hollywood
Englishmajor - January 9, 2012
this game is less than wonderful. blah
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
what game?
Athletica - January 9, 2012

stm72 - January 9, 2012

stm72 - January 9, 2012

gigglingone - January 9, 2012

Berry Jo - January 9, 2012

stm72 - January 9, 2012
Oh puke
The heartbreak of the torrnado is being redeemed by this Alabama victory (according to the announcer).
Englishmajor - January 9, 2012
OK....that makes no sense.....
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
I can imagine people saying
“I don’t like football and I didn’t go to Alabama, can I have my house back?”
Englishmajor - January 9, 2012
my plans to be productive tonight have had a wrench thrown in them.....
anyone seen my wrench? can’t get this nut off the tire without it….
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
drrrty
stm72 - January 9, 2012
I was going to clean it up, but nah, this is the lounge....
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
You can borrow one of mine.
Kyli - January 9, 2012
I'm already in my pj's
do you deliver?
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
Just, like, an 8" crescent wrench?
Sure, I can deliver.
Kyli - January 9, 2012
is it an adjustable wrench?
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
yes.
Kyli - January 9, 2012
this is the bestest conversation everererer
stm72 - January 9, 2012
Wow!

But BEER FOR EVERYONE!!!!
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
WOO!
YonYonson - January 9, 2012
6 hours of teaching the kiddies. :(
….and another 3 hours of math homework with Thomas. He can’t do figures at all today. Poor kid.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
what's he working on?
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
Adding, subtracting, and multiplying fractions, and mixed numbers.
He understood it on Friday, but its all gone today. “Momma said there’d be days like this…”
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
oh soo confusing....so many processes. Need any teaching advice?
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
Not really, but thanks Berry Jo.♥
I just need to remember that he can’t help his problem. The physical development of his brain makes memory difficult. The sad part, is that he did so well last week. Two steps forward, and one back. Our goal is to help him lead an independent life, were he can do the basic things, like balance his checkbook, etc. The neat part is that he always has a HUGE smile on his face!
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
you're so awesome
stm72 - January 9, 2012
Thanks, stm. That means a lot to me.
I just get so discouraged with the setbacks. Sometimes he just gets a blank look and there is no way to get through. I have to just let him go play.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
how old is he?
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
He'll be thirteen in March.
The Math tutor is preparing all the kids for the State’s 6th grade tests. It’s just too much for him.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
rooting for ya kid
stm72 - January 9, 2012
It's requirements are just stupid.
I didn’t learn fractions until 8th grade. This crap that we are soo far behind the rest of the world, forgets that there are those who don’t NEED to know it, and those who CAN’T know it.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
this stuff can be so abstract that its hard for kids to understand in the best of circumstances. just remember the victories and hopefully it makes the tougher times a bit easier for the both of you.
stm72 - January 9, 2012
yeah....abstract stuff is very difficult to remember. AND teaching some of the fractions stuff with manipulatives is difficult as well!
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
i help my niece every now. world needs more people like tutu
stm72 - January 9, 2012
*now and again*
stm72 - January 9, 2012
fractions are very confusing....look the same - act different
h
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
One of the fortunes of war in construction, is that, believe it or not,
I never dealt with fractions, I always converted fractions to 100ths of a foot. Works great with a calculator, and you can do it in your head.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
yup...there are great calculators that do the hard calculations. When I was a spec ed teacher I was always debating about
teaching the processes or teaching the calculator…..tried to hit a happy medium
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
His problem isn't doing the calculations.
His problem is that he can’t understand the word problems, and doesn’t know HOW to solve a problem. His counselor said it has to do with his brain not seeing words as a movie picture, like most of us do. Words are just sounds to him.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
oh
stm72 - January 9, 2012
Yeah, Its tough to teach problem solving to someone who doesn't see a problem.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
I used to spend a lot of time helping kids recognize the words that are necessary to setting up problems from words
we’d cross out stuff and replace it until all that was left is the problrm
Berry Jo - January 9, 2012
We are working on that concept.
Thomas can understand directions, but doesn’t decipher questions. I don’t know if that can be taught.
Tutu-late - January 9, 2012
If Kyil is around
Markarth is a wild little town

Hey cope
UrgentMirth - January 9, 2012
hi!
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
dude, this is harder than I thought
why didn’t I just go buy new tires? or a new bike? that might have been easiest….
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
what are you doing?
Copenhagen - January 9, 2012
trying to replace the tubes in my bike tires
trying is the key word
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
oh, and I don't know for a fact that it's the tubes that are flat
it might also/instead be a hole in the tires themselves
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
Hi
This sounds like complication
UrgentMirth - January 9, 2012
try harder?
Copenhagen - January 9, 2012
*sigh*
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
I bet if you wore the springy hat you could do it
Copenhagen - January 9, 2012
everything is possible with the springy hat
oooooh, just got the second tire off….now I have a frame with no tires. I couldn’t ride it before with two flat tires, but now I really can’t ride it…..
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
It was always getting them back on that I hated
Copenhagen - January 9, 2012
well, since I'm still having problems getting the tires off the rims, i might not ever get them back onto the bike.....
roller blades, I should just stick with those….
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
that's it, I'm replacing my bike with this bad boy
Okay, sure, I might be three feet too tall for it, but I don’t care, it’s still gotta be easier than what I’m trying to do here….
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
i love it! :)
Athletica - January 9, 2012
It's hard to improve on that
UrgentMirth - January 9, 2012
okay, now I've got a pile of bike parts in the middle of my floor
but the Kyli wrench is on top of it all, so take THAT you silly bike!
I’ll try again tomorrow. it’s bedtime for me.
gigglingone - January 9, 2012
night, good luck tomorrow!
Copenhagen - January 9, 2012
Did Kyli really bring a wrench over?
OldhamA - January 9, 2012
Why not?
Englishmajor - January 9, 2012
Yes.
Kyli - January 10, 2012
It's like you don't even know me, man.
Kyli - January 10, 2012

Gigs! pam!
I’m Watching Hartsfield’s Landing and thinking of the two of you.
“Politics in New Hampshire is what?”
“Retail.”
Also, do NOT mess with Charlie.
And, most importantly, “see the whole board.” So. Cool.
Happy New Year, the rest of you. Here’s hoping you’ve been resolute with your resolutions so far. If not, don’t fret. If you truly cared about doing something, you wouldn’t have waited for a new year to start. And first prize to those of you who never made any resolutions because you correctly figured out that you’re perfect just the way you are.
Cheers.

Got in my car this morning to go to the gym, the Rise Guys were talking about how there's no way Hue Jackson would be fired and what their first conversation would be.
Worked out for an hour.
Got in the car, and Hue Jackson was fired.
Life changes quickly.

You are trying to use “ethical” and “legal” in reference to the same subject? How does that work? Besides, we are talking about BEER! :)
Oh. Retirement is great! ( I wasn’t sure if I told you that before.)

A bit of advice....
If you’re going to be the head coach of the Oakland Raiders….rent but don’t buy.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
should be fine now with Davis long gone, they might turn into a real org now
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
That non real org won a lot of games
All I see is a rookie owner, a rookie GM and now a most likely rookie head coach. So great now the Raiders will be like every other team….most of which fail……WooHoo!
Bed. - January 10, 2012
8 is not a lot
This way they can burn it down with no residual Al leftovers with the exception of Trask.
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
So we're only counting last season then......I'm talking about the last 50 years.
I don’t want to burn everything down….that’s my point.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
You have to admit Al had become a liability over the last decade or so
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
No I don't
some of the moves worked some of them didn’t but I have no desire to become the Oakland Packers.
The Raiders are unique but so far McKenzie seems pretty ordinary to me.

I have to say I can’t wait for the game on Saturday night. On paper the Pats should roll but there is a magic to this Broncos team that can’t be denied.

Mike Mularkey as new Jaguars coach
He’s had some success as an OC in Pittsburgh and Atlanta but his 1 1/2 year run as Buffalo’s head coach wasn’t much.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Which means McCoy stays in Denver much to the chagrin of most of the fanbase
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
Well, you have maybe two good receivers, an old RB and a FB playing QB so it's hard to judge.

I'm fine with him, he was dealt a shitty hand with personnel
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I think the Broncos coaches did about as good of a job as they could.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I'm no Tebow fan, but he actually made some nice throws against Pittsburgh.
I wouldn’t want him as the 49ers QB, but he throws the deep ball better than Alex Smith.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
He does throw a nice deep ball.....his 10-15 yard passes might be the worst I've ever seen though.
But hey they’re 8-4 with him under center so what the hell.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Hell, ride him as far as he'll take you.
Who knows, maybe he’ll have some trade value this offseason.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
If they traded Tebow there would be a riot in Denver
he’s the Broncos QB next year for sure with the win over the Steelers even though Elway and Fox hate him.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
That's probably true.
But if and when he falters, he’ll lose all his value.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I'm not sure he has any value outside of one of the Florida teams wanting him to sell tickets.
I still don’t think he’s a long term viable QB but who knows?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I agree, I think defenses will figure him out.
I don’t think anyone will give up a 1st round pick for him. But a 3rd or 4th rounder? Maybe. And before this year, I doubt he would’ve netted even that.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I'd take him as a FB and a wildcard type player
put him in there and let him make a few football plays….the kid has talent and drive.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
He just needs to not throw.
Or just throw deep.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I think a smart coach could find a way to use him 7-8 times a game
that would help you win.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
As an opposing coach...
And using 49ers players as examples, since I know them better, I’d probably assign Patrick WIllis to shadow Tebow, while letting Aldon Smith go after him on every sack. I’d drop my safeties back and let Bowman and the DL worry about the run.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012

ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I worked for the Bradley campaign....what a f'ing mess that thing was.
and it turns out John Edwards was kind of a fraud in pretty much every way.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I've never worked for any campaigns.
My cousin’s kid ran a campaign office in Penn. for Obama in ’08.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Politics was my life before I decided I wanted a life and got into teaching.
It was fun and crazy and awful and amazing but you sure didn’t make much money.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
My Business Practices instructor warned us not to work for campaigns.
Or, more correctly, he said not to do work for a campaign unless you believed in the cause and were willing to give your work away for free. He said campaigns always put off paying photogs and graphic artists, and almost never ended up paying them at all.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I got stiffed more than once....mostly on local campaigns
and for years I worked for free which is not in my DNA but it was what you had to do to get your foot in the door.
I was about to start a business with some friends that helped do the fundraising part of the gig but I got out instead.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I have some friends who manage campaigns here in SC.
They typically win 70-75% of their elections. That’s amazing, considering that they manage Democrats in South Carolina. They always have juicy gossip on politicians, too.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I had a Pittsburgh Pirates like winning percentage
to be fair I never came close to managing anything so I can’t get much of the blame.
My favorite thing was I did some speech writing…..that I really loved.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Ooh, that sounds like fun.
I would try to write a speech that rhymes, just to see if anyone notices.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
As long as the speech was only shown on CSPAN no one would.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Or it would be fun to try to work in famous phrases from movies.
“And I told my son, ‘I am your father.’”
“And she just looked at me and said, ‘Play it, Sam.’”
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
That can get you in trouble
Bed. - January 10, 2012

Since that’s what she’ll be taking.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Aren't Barry Larkin and Alan Trammel basically the same player?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I know you don't value modern metrics.
But if you did, you’d say that Larkin was a bit better offensively, but Trammell was a lot better defensively.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
So in the end they're very similar players in terms of value.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yes, with Larkin having a slight edge.
I was a huge Alan Trammell fan as a kid.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I flirted with those mid to late 80's Tigers teams
they were fun to watch.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Trammell/Whitaker was one of the best middle infield combos I've ever seen.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Actually, THE best.
Or at least the most fun to watch.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Yep....and I loved Sparky.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
and Jack Morris was nasty
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yeah, Sparky was awesome.
Old school.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Two crazy rumors....Gruden is coming back to Oakland....sure....and the Raiders are going to sigh Matt Flynn....sure part 2
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I don't think Hue got a fair shake, personally.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I would have brought him back but our new rookie GM is getting to make his play.
I don’t have good feelings about it in my gut.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I feel bad for the next coach.
He’s coming into a bad situation, what with the lack of high draft picks.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I still think talent wise the Raiders are even footing with the rest of the division.
My biggest concern as I said above is rookie owner + rookie GM + rookie head coach = uh-oh.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
It took Jed York what, 10 years to figure out how to hire a HC?
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Yeah that has turned out pretty well for the 49ers.
I want a veteran offensive minded head coach but I doubt it’ll happen.
I’d also like to see them go get an established DC and move to the 3-4.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I like the 3-4.
I think it makes a lot more sense in this age of pass-first offenses. Plus, LB’s have become so strong and fast that they’re often as good against the run as DL’s.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I'm a 4-3 guy at heart but I think 3-4 would work better for their talent.
Seymour is a great 3-4 DL and Kelly could be a nice NT.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I just feel that effective D these days requires speed more than size.
Hell, it seems like DL’s are used almost as blockers nowadays, opening holes for the LB’s.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I think it depends on what division you play in as well.
The AFC West is a run first division outside of San Diego.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yeah, but I think a 3-4 can be very effective against the run, too.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s what Baltimore and Pittsburgh run, is it not?
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Yes
I’m not saying it can’t. As I said I’m for the Raiders switching to the 3-4. If I was building a team from scratch I’d build a 4-3 team but that doesn’t mean I’m right.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Fair enough.
Personally, I’d build a team around the OL on offense and the front 7 on D, but I’d go with a 3-4. Still, I think success ultimately depends on controlling the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
In order
1. OB
2. LT
3 CB
4. DE
5. MLB
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I'd avoid throwing my franchise QB out there until I have the guys to protect him
I don’t want to David Carr his career.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
David Carr wasn't accurate enough
so even with a good line I doubt he would have been a good QB.
If you wait for a QB when there’s one on the board you’ll most likely be waiting to win for years.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Then I'd go big on a FA.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I'd use FA to add depth
but I’d try to get most of my starters through the draft.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I like young in football
and old in baseball.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I like young in vegetables and old in wines.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I like all women and BEER!
Tutu-late - January 10, 2012
I can see your point.
But it seems like QB’s are hard to find and usually take awhile to develop. So I’d be willing to spend for one.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
It depends
Newton and Dalton look like hits right out of the box but I concede it depends on the talent coming out the year you draft.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
That's true.
I guess a lot also depends on how they’re coached. Nolan and Singletary pretty much ruined Alex Smith, I think. And I still say that Kordell Stewart should’ve been great, damn it.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I liked Stewart too
He had some success when Mularkey was his OC.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
That's a bunch of
baloney.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
and now fans in Jacksonville...all 4 of them get to enjoy that baloney as their HC.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Maybe he can bring Stewart out of retirement.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
He couldn't be much worse than Gabbert.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yo Gabba Gabbert?
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Even worse...Mizzou Tigers Blaine
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Ha!
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
and I'd never draft a running back or WR in the first 2 rounds
and I’d never give a RB a second contract.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Nope, not worth it.
Too many good players at both positions available in the mid rounds.
Speaking of, are you familiar with NFL rules regarding compensation for FA’s?
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Somewhat on the compensation front.
I know for instance that the Raiders should get a 3rd round pick for Nnamdi.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
If I understand the rules correctly, the 49ers get nothing if they lose Gore and Alex Smith, right?
Since Gore is in his 7th year and Smith in his 6th?
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I'm sorry...I'm not sure on that.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I want to say there's no compensation after their 4th year, but I'm too lazy to look it up.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Yeah but Nnamdi was well past his 4th year
it’s also possible the rules have changed with the last CBA.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Ah, could be.
If they can get compensated, I’m ok with letting them walk. Gore is a terrific player, but he’s bound to be nearing his effective end. And Smith isn’t a long-term answer.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Didn't Gore just sign a new deal?
They’d lose all the bonus money wouldn’t they?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I thought he was a FA after this season.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I thought he re-signed earlier this season but you know the team better than I do.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I recall hearing something about him postponing contract talks until after the season.
But it’s possible that I’m wrong. That almost happened once.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
He signed a 3 year extension this year
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Ah, thanks.
Cool, I can live with him being back next year. If he falters, Hunter seems capable.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Serious question.....have you ever seen or met a Jacksonville Jaguars fan?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I've seen people wearing their gear.
But I live in the South.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I've been to Jacksonville and I didn't see any fans.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
The Panthers are big where you are right?
The Cam Newton run should be fun to root for.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Most folks here are Cowboys fans but because of McFadden I see a fair amount of Raiders stuff
of course there are Raiders fans everywhere.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yeah, it doesn't hurt that they have probably the best uniforms in the all of pro sports.
And that they have a reputation for being tough as shit.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Certain types of people are just drawn to the Raiders....the renegade thing.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yes, but it's funny. Most of them seem to be so staid in real life.
Maybe that’s how they act out their aggression.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
and the Raiders haven't really been THE RAIDERS since the late 80's
even the good Gruden/Callahan teams weren’t all that rough they were just solid.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
True, they really left that style of play behind.
You know, SIngletary likes smashmouth football. Maybe they should hire him…
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
If the Raiders hire Crazy Mike I'll go on a hunger strike.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yeah, and the 49ers.
Apparently before the Panthers came along, the 49ers were huge here. But in the last 10 years or so, a lot of Northerners have started wintering here. So you actually see mostly Pats, Giants and Jets fans around here, along with a fair number of Ravens and Steelers fans. I’d say the Panthers are probably the 6th most popular team in this area.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
There are Steelers, Packers, Cowboys, Giants, Raiders and Browns fans no matter where you are.
The Patriots are like the 49ers were in the 80’s in that they have a lot of recent fans because of all the success but we’ll see if it lasts.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
But around here, there are a lot of people from the NE area.
Seriously, there are so many snowbirds that someone started a website called gobacktoohio.com.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
It makes sense....I'd get out of NE for the winter if I could too.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
The local MiLB team even gets in on the fun.
Read about it here.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
First you'd have to be in NE for winter.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
You gotta get in to get out.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I have some friends who drove down to Jacksonville to go to a game.
But they weren’t Jaguars fans. I don’t think they have a favorite NFL team. Actually, I think they went because drinking far from home is more fun than drinking near home. The wife got so drunk that on the way back, she rolled down the window and puked all over the side of her husband’s truck. His white truck. Owned by a man with OCD issues when it comes to cleanliness.
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
Ok, it's nigh-night time.
Take care, folks. Talk atcha later!
ozzman99 - January 10, 2012
I think you mean goodnight, Brian...since it was just you and me here.
Sleep well, Oz.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I was busy killing bandits
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
The best bandit is a dead bandit.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
sneak attack with dagger + kill animation = good stuff
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I got one of those in my 3rd dungeon.....good stuff.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I suggest following the main quest as far as getting the full unrelenting shout
then go do your own thing. This way you have a pretty useful shout and have started random dragon attacks.
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
Okay....thanks for the tip.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Cope was here.
And I thought Tutu might be too.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I was Skyrimming then
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
Hey, if you're into Skyrimjobs, that's up to you. I'm not judging.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I wanted to spend some of my time with my real family.:)
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
I guess we'll let you slide for that. This time, anyway.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
Schottenheimer's to Tampa?
Marty is great until the playoffs….not as sold on Brian even though he went to KU for a year.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I don't get the Jeff Fisher love.....6 playoff teams in 16 seasons.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I was going through a box in the garage and I found about 10 360 games I never played.
I keep buying these games and then never find time to play them.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
heh it happens a lot
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
{sneaks in}
anyone here?
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
are you rebuilding a bike?
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I've stared it down, but it's not rebuilding itself yet
I just got home though, so I’m giving myself a break before I tackle it again….
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
probably shouldn't tackle it, you might anger it
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
and you wouldn't like that bike when it's angry.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
dude!
What did you do to your head?
ZigFan31 - January 10, 2012
had a cyst removed last Thursday
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
How are you feeling by the way?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
mostly good
I still have random moments of sharp pain, but they don’t seem to last long. It still hurts whenever I sleep on my back, which is only a problem if I roll onto my back in the middle of the night….which I do frequently….so I don’t sleep well….sigh….
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
have you tried making a pillow fort against your body?
I had to do that for a month or so when my shoulder was all messed up
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
last night I had six pillows surrounding my head
this morning I had one pillow on the bed, and five on the floor.
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
I have to have 3 pillows under my head or I can't sleep.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I usually have two
although one is getting flattened, so I either need a third one, or get new pillows. I love new pillows….
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
I get new ones every year....I like them fluffy.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
so, you're a fluffer, eh?
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
If the money is right....sure.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I'm glad to hear it's getting better.....I know how tough it is though when you aren't getting sleep.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Yikes!
I’ve been trying to follow along, but can’t keep up! Sounds like you are doing ok, so that’s good!
ZigFan31 - January 10, 2012
no worries
I kept it kinda hush hush for a while — it’s the second cyst removed (had another one taken out in September). I’m wearing cute hats to work this week to cover the spot, so at least that’s a good thing. :)
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
SPRINGY
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I need another springy hat, one that I can change teh design of each day so that I can wear it all year long
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
I have floppy hats!
ZigFan31 - January 10, 2012
I prefer them firm.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I have the perfect one,
I love you!
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
The one I had in LA
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
It has green and gold flowers.
Its adorable!
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
Just like you.
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
ooooooh, green and gold flowers!!!
♥♥♥
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
Its the best hat ever!
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
I think Marlene took a picture of me in it.
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
And I hate me in hats.
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
(Looks up)...did someone mention head?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
bed head?
ZigFan31 - January 10, 2012
I don't have enough hair to pull that off anymore.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
So if Cope leaves AN The Lounge might as well shut down.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
nah there were others before, there will be others after
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I don't know.....we might need to reboot the Lounge.
I’d happily go back to DLD’s as more folks would enter those.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
The worst part of being a teacher is all the heckling from the fans.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
The Warriors are the ultimate tease
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
How is Rick Barry looking this year?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
so glad he is no longer part of the local radio
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
He had a radio show huh?....did he mostly talk about his hairpiece?
Bed. - January 10, 2012
He was with Rod Brooks midday for many years
in which he spent the time campaigning to be the next coach or to fix players
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
Ah.....I've never been into sports talk radio
it’s usually so inane.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
For the most part yes
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
Back in the late 80's I liked Tim Roye in Sacramento
he was sharp and didn’t do much schtick.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
He does Warrior radio play by play now and is not great on the twitter
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I knew he did the Warriors these days.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
he's a great radio play by play guy. he's no grant napear though.
stm72 - January 11, 2012
I guess the 2 points the Falcons scored against the Giants put Mularkey over the top to get the Jaguars job.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
falcon should fire mike smith and hire jeff fisher. mike smith can't get them over the hump. i'd rather coach matt ryan than sam bradford.
stm72 - January 11, 2012
You know I'm starting to think my Jets vs Falcons Super Bowl pick might not happen.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Hmm Warriors by 3, 1 min to go in OT about time to fold
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I have this odd urge to get back into basketball
but I have no desire to watch Kings games as they stink and I can’t take another bad team.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
7 sec still up 3, GSW to inbound. This has been crazy
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
up 5, 6 secs left, they might win
Copenhagen - January 10, 2012
I just saw the ad for Red Tails...so Lucas finally got that movie made.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
BREAKING NEWS!!!!
Polls are reporting that Athletics Nation finished 4th in the New Hampshire Republican Primary tonight.
There’s no report if AN’s campaign will go on to South Carolina where rumors of several love children have dogged the candidate.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
AN South Carolina spokesman Ozzman99 had this to say about the rumors
“What can I say….we’re very slutty and we like to get around.”
Bed. - January 10, 2012
I guess I should now go on the Raiders blog and talk about the A's.
Bed. - January 10, 2012
Sorry, Bed.
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
I was just joking since I come to an A's blog and talk about the Raiders so much.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Ugh. Headache coming on.
Me and the pain meds are going to go have a little party in my bed. Good night all!
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
Night, lovey,
lynnzgal - January 10, 2012
night lynn!
gigglingone - January 10, 2012
Well, it's 3:20 in the morning and I just got spit up on and when that happens I like to come to an empty Lounge thread.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I had Moneyball on in the background while I was doing Daddy stuff
and damn it…..that movie is starting to make me love the Oakland A’s again.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact....ginger ale has both ginger and ale in it.....actually I have no idea if that's true.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
When I was a kid I either wanted to be a cowboy, an astronaut or an insurance adjuster.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
My new plan is to sleep when I'm dead so I should get a nice rest sometime next week.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
An empty thread is like therapy but cheaper.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Speaking of cheap what's Lew Wolff up to these days?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
When I first heard the name Free Kraut I thought they were talking about someone from West Germany during the Cold War.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact....the song A-B-C is actually about 1-2-3
Bed. - January 11, 2012
You know what I miss the most about college?
Long philosophical discussions about things that don’t really matter that go all night…..well, that and the sex.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I think if I was ever to live in a foreign country it would be Texas.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I sure wish that college at a state school and job training
for kids who don’t want to go to college was free or darn cheap for students coming out of High School.
I can’t understand why we’ve allowed college to become so damn expensive. We put kids deep into debt after they pay for school and that just isn’t right.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
The way things are going I figure I have to put away $5000 a year to pay for her college
and that’s if she goes to a good college…..a great college and I’m screwed.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
An Ivy League school and they'll just have to kill me for the life insurance money to pay for it.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact....The U.S. Constitution was written on the back of a cocktail napkin.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
After years of studying this stuff I really don't care for Thomas Jefferson much.
He was brilliant but kind of a prick.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I think my least favorite American historical figure was J. Edgar Hoover.....not a fan of MacArthur either.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact...teal is not actually a color.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
My favorite color is blue but I'll only use pens with black ink.
I’m pretty sure this means I’m gay.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
or that I resent my mother and want to kill my father....or the other way around.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
It could also mean I think black looks better on the paper....nah....I want to kill Dad.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact....Tim Tebow is right handed.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Serious question.....is there any logical reason to be against Gay Marriage?
Shouldn’t conservatives want more people to be married and having a family?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Hmm....I might be getting too political tonight.....sorry.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact.....The Bay of Pigs involved very little pork.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Is it strange that I find Miss Piggy kind of hot?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
very
stm72 - January 11, 2012
My little princess is very fussy tonight.
I think it’s going to be a long day.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
One thing is for sure I'm going to have to break out some Diet Cokes to make it through the day.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact.....butterscotch actually contains vodka.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I sure hope a lot of the people who seem to have left AN come on back once the season starts.
We need everybody to get through the upcoming season.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
The 2 dollars I spent on this back scratcher might be the best money I've ever spent.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Next I'll talk about the 13 bucks I spent on my ear hair trimmer.
Then it’s on to earned income tax credit debate.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I can't decide if I should try to go back to sleep for two hours or just stay up.
Where’s my magic 8 ball?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Little known fact....The band Rush never go anywhere quickly.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
As excited as I am for the return of Mad Men in March I'm just as excited about the return of Justified this month.
I want to be Raylan Givens when I grow up.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
The Magic 8 Ball says....Goodnight, John-Boy.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I hit my head getting out of the car this morning
I should just go home, it’s going to be one of those days….

gigglingone - January 11, 2012
heh that works
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
Added bonus:
Every time you fart, you can just blame it on the bubble wrap. Of course, you’re also gonna have to breathe it in; no sharing.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
mmmm......lunchtime....
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
I have water
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
Speaking of farts, I think my cat just farted. It smells like used fish.
What ever happened to the dude with the farty dog?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Is there a place you can buy used fish?
Kinda taking the whole recycling thingy tuu far.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
They don't call it "used" anymore. Now it's "pre-owned."
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Pre-owned by a little old lady,
who only ate it on Fridays.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Better than pre-owned by a frat guy.
Who ate it in frozen stick form for lunch on Friday, only to regurgitate it Saturday morning after marinating it in tequila all night.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Oh....so that did actually happen.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
What?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
When?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I can't wait until this Lounge thread is old enough to drive.
I could use some help running errands.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
i thought you liked running?
stm72 - January 11, 2012
only from the police.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Fuck the police.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Ice-T is in the house!
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I just got an email at work from someone named Jane "giggles" Smith
(first and last names changed)
Should I start including my screen name in my email sig?
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
For working with students?
I think Jane “spits fire at stupid people” Smith is probably going to serve you better.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
Obviously.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
I do not understand having blood drawn.
I could pay characters from SyFy channel movies way less to STAB ME AND SUCK THE LIFE FORCE FROM MY BODY.
On the upside, I found the thin line between passing out and not passing out.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
If you stuck a needle in me right now the only thing that would come out would be Diet Coke.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Getting blood drawn never bothered me.
I guess blood doesn’t matter when you don’t have a soul.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You know what sucks?
When you have a craving for a certain dish (say… oh, I don’t know, General Tso’s), so you order some from a restaurant you don’t normally order from, and it turns out to be terrible. So disappointing.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I only read the title of your post so my answer is...you.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
That's just a rumor.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Another rumor I heard is that the A's are signing Prince Fielder's gardener.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Good call. That guy can rake.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You're almost as corny as I am.....this must be why I like you.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Don't hate me because I'm dutiful.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
It's looking like the character of Bed might be recast.
My demand to only have blue M&M’s in my dressing room and that no one could look me in the eye when I walked past them has not gone over well with management.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
My wife watched Moneyball today...she liked it.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Is she an A's fan now?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
pfft....the baseball scenes in the movie are the most baseball she's ever seen
my guess is she liked the scenes were Pitt works out.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
So did I.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
She rented it for me since she didn't know I had already seen it.
I watched it again late last night as I was taking care of Miss Fussy and I liked it more the second time.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I liked it the 1st time, but maybe I'll watch it again.
In fact, I’ll buy it and watch it instead of watching the real games this year.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I still think they could of cut 10 minutes out of the movie as it does drag a bit in parts.
I don’t care about the parts that aren’t factual or 100% correct because it’s a movie it’s there to be entertaining.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm gonna steal a page from Bed's book and do a top 10 list.
Top 10 sports cars (there are no objective criteria here, just what I like):
1. 1957 Corvette
2. Ferrari 250
3. Ferrari 365 GTB
4. Laborghini Murcielago
5. Porsche 356
6. BMW M3 E46
7. Ferrari 458 Italia
8. 2012 Corvette ZO6
9 Porsche Carrera GT
10. McLaren F1
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
That's fine I stole the idea from sirbed myself.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
You forgot 2011 Ford Mustang
Bed. - January 11, 2012
No, no I didn't.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I love my car....it's fun to drive
I’d love to have a 65 Mustang someday. I don’t know any of the cars on your list but I’m not really a car guy.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Shockingly, I've never driven any of the cars on my list. But I want them.
And I mean no offense to your Mustang, which by all accounts, is one hell of a car.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I have no doubt it's not one of the Top 10 sports cars of all time
I doubt I’ll ever be able to afford anything on that list.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Me neither.
But I plan to steal at least 3 of them at some point. After that, I’ll have 3 strikes, so I’ll spend the rest of my life pleasuring my cell mate.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Sounds like a plan.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm really hoping they've created co-ed prisons by then.
Also, I hope my cell mate is Mila Kunis.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Did she get arrested for being in Max Payne?
she is a sexy little thing.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I don't care what she got arrested for.
I’d be her bitch any day.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
So kind of a role reversal thing then.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Kinky
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Whatever makes her happy.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'm a bastard so I'd be more interested in her making me happy.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
1964 R-3 Avanti
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Top 10 Vin Diesel movies:
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Good luck with that
Bed. - January 11, 2012
That's it. The list is done.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I liked Pitch Black....and uh......hmm....I've seen some of the Fast & Furious movies.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I saw most of the 1st F&F. Hated it.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I've seen 3 of them I think
I like it when things crash….I’m a simple man.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
As long as they put up a new lounge every few days so there's a place for Oz to crack me up I'll stick with AN.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
You have very low standards.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Seriously...I only come here for the Lounge
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I mostly do to, but I hit up some of the FP stories from time to time.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I rec the ones I like
but I get my baseball information mostly elsewhere.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I get my baseball info anywhere I can find it.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I get my baseball information while reading about football.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I get my football information while reading about politics.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I get my political information when reading about dirtbags.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I didn't know there were 2 ways to spell politics.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
there are many ways to spell it.....most of them are 4 letter words.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'll keep posting them for y'all
I think there might be a couple others who will also post some from time to time
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
I made us a cowboy dinner tonight....beans and sausage.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
That's what I have in my pants.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Then what's in your pants must be tasty.
We’re both so damn tired so beans and sausage was quick and easy.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Top 10 sitcoms:
1. I Love Lucy
2. M*A*S*H*
3. Benson
4. Parks & Rec
5. Friends
6. Doby GIllis
7. The Burns & Allen Show
8. The Odd Couple
9. The Wonder Years
10. The Big Bang Theory
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I've done this list...maybe more than once....my list was different.
I’m glad to see someone else doing the lists…..I was out of ideas.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Apparently, so am I. If I'm doing lists you've done many times.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I think I've done at least 150 of them so you're bound to hit some of the ones I've done.
and many of them are about movies, TV and pop culture stuff.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
My problem is that it's hard for me to name 10 of anything.
I just don’t know much about much.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I love to rank things and make lists.....many history folks are like this
and for about 20 years I was a pop culture junkie but I’m clueless on anything recent.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I don't usually rank things.
I pick the one that’s the best, and screw the rest.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I can do a top 10 list on almost anything that I have some knowledge on.
The list might be garbage but then so are most of my opinions.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Opinions are like assholes, right?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Exactly
and with me I don’t expect anyone to have the same opinions that I do.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I expect everyone to have the same opinions I do.
It reaffirms my beliefs and makes me feel better about myself.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I think many people think that way
it leads to fun flame wars on AN.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
ANd pretty much any other message board.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
This is my only one so I'll take your word on that.
It always cracks me up when people thinks their opinion is more right than someone else’s.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Everyone knows that unless you agree with me, you're wrong.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't even agree with myself half the time.
and when it comes to baseball I concede there are people on AN that know a lot more about it than I do.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I don't agree with you, either.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
That's the way to go.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
There is a distinct lack of How I Met Your Mother on that list.
I am disappoint.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
I dare you to pick one show to bump from my list to replace with HIMYM.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
TBBT.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
Nope.
Jim Parsons is the funniest actor on TV.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Disagree.
NPH wins.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
Also, the writing is way better on HIMYM.
I like TBBT a lot, don’t get me wrong, but I have to get my HIMYM fix Or Else.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
Also Willow!
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
For me the big missing piece is Cheers
but it’s his list not mine. Many of the shows on his list I’ve never seen so I can’t judge.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Mmm, Cheers.
Good call. Maybe I can bump The Wonder Years for Cheers.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Cheers is my number 1
Winnie Cooper would be mad if you dropped The Wonder Years though.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I had quite the crush on her.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Who didn't?.....Hell, I just saw her on TV recently.....she's hot.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
On HIMYM? Wasn't she on there?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't know what that is.....it was some thing about a math book she wrote for kids.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
How I Met Your Mother.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Ah...I've seen some of it but never more than a few minutes
it’s on in syndication on like 14 channels on my DirecTV.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Beats watching Saved By The Bell.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Yes Kyli.
I SAID THAT.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Elizabeth Berkley
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
I AM COMING BACK THE NEXT DAY TO TELL YOU THAT YOU ARE SO SO SO SO SO WRONG.
YOU HAVE JUST LOST ALL YOUR CREDIBILITY EVER.
GONE.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
LOOKING GOOD
The tweets from the Owner’s Meetings have all the players in conference, incl. the “Blue Ribbon” committee.
emperor nobody - January 11, 2012
Woo!
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Whatever is best for the team I guess
from a selfish stand point I have to admit I have no desire to travel to San Jose to watch them but that isn’t important at all.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm a selfish bitch and I don't care.
Viva la Oakland!
(I actually held this opinion as well when I was living in the South Bay, so I don’t feel bad about it)
Kyli - January 11, 2012
San Jose is too far from Arkansas. Oakland is just right.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Well that and I have friends and family near Oakland so it's a place I enjoy.
San Jose has never done much for me when I’ve been there and I don’t know anyone who lives there so it’s not a good deal for me.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Or that.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'll go at least once to see the new park
but I’d go more if they stay in Oakland.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Better let them know that before they move.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Yes....I'm sure that's been on their minds
As always I’ll see most of my A’s games in KC and Dallas although since my Uncle in Dallas died I imagine we’ll hit KC more.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'll see most of my A's games on MLB.com.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't think I'll even get the MLB package this year for DirecTV.
We’ll be gone for the summer and by the time we get home the A’s will be 57 games out of 1st place.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
You'll get back at the end of May?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Well, they had permission to build in Fremont, look how that turned out
If MLB agrees to let the team move, I think it’s 90% of the battle. Maybe 95% if the Giants are bought off. But it’s not a done deal.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
Well, yeah.....someone still has to pay for it.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Somehow, even in this economy, I think they'll find plenty of corporate sponsors.
Maybe they should talk to PG&E. I hear they have a bunch of money they were supposed to spend on gas pipeline maintenance just sitting around.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't know enough about the financial situation to know what to say.
All my friends in California are basically looking to get out for the most part because things are bad.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
New slogan: See the A's offense explode!
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
Wow. Brandon Allen just San Bruno'd that fastball!
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Top 10 meals I've ever eaten:
1. My mother’s goat pulao
2. Ozzwife’s Herbs de Provence short ribs
3. Ozzwife’s Cuban pork loin
4. The pork chop at High Cotton
5. The chicken paillard at 5 Loaves
6. Ozzwife’s gumbo
7. The lamb shank at Table 10
8. The duck confit club and garlic &blue cheese fries at the Tattooed Moose
9. Pernil
10. Ozzwife’s charmoula leg of lamb
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Mine is just steak written 10 times.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Ok, Ron Swanson.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't know who that is but I do love steak.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Parks & Rec.
Sorry about the poor quality, but here you go.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Ah....yeah I've never seen that show.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I love it.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I know while not many people watch it it's very popular with those who do.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Yeah, it may not be for everyone.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'm not a fan of the head writer.
But a couple of my friends love the show.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
The Fire Joe Morgan guy?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Right....not a fan
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Oh, I think he's hilarious.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Which is why the show is for you.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Funny how that works.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Yep
I don’t think we watch any sitcoms at the moment.
My wife is watching season 1 of Mad Men right now to see if she likes it.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I need to watch that.
I’ve only seen the 1st episode.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
It's my favorite show currently on TV
1. Mad Men
2. Breaking Bad
3. Justified
4. No Reservations
5. PTI
and I like Person of Interest….that’s about it.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I don't know #3-5.
Well, I know #4, but I’ve never watched it. I don’t like Anthony Bourdain.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
PTI is the Kornheiser and Wilbon on ESPN
and I love Bourdain….Justiified is a cool show about a US Marshall on FX based on a Elmore Leonard character.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I heard Eastbound & Down is good.
I know, not related to anything you just said.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I've heard of it but I've never seen it
I got rid of HBO years ago.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Me too, but I have Netflix.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I had Netflix but I never used it
so I dumped it….I use the On Demand thing and we still go to Hastings to rent movies.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I've never heard of Hastings.
There’s a Blockbuster around the corner from here. I don’t know how they get enough business to stay open.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
All our Blockbusters closed
Hastings is a book/music/DVD/video games/coffee shop.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I could go for a good cup of coffee right now.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I could go for a good book/DVD/video game
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Skyrim?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I've played about 3 hours so far
and I’m having fun.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I have played none.
Too much like my real life.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
There are dragons in your real life?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
OF course, what do you think I do for a living?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I thought you were a hooker.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
That's only a part time gig.
Mostly I’m a squire for a dragon slayer.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I slay everyone I meet....well, not really.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Walkin' down the street, shootin' people that I meet, fully loaded Tommy gun.
Here comes the deputy, try fuckin’ gettin’ me, gotta fuckin’ get up and run.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You're a much more fancy eater than I am
but my wife isn’t a Chef.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Don't get me wrong, I can get down with a good burger.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Your list looks good to me
When it comes to food I’m pretty simple….I’ve gone out for fancy dinners and it’s fun but I like pretty basic stuff.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I just like good food. I don't care if it's fancy or not.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
My main complaint at fancy joints is they don't give you enough food
and I’m not even really a big eater.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Depends on where, but yeah.
That’s why you get apps and ’zerts.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
So soon I may be rooting for the San Jose A's and the Los Angeles Raiders
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Suddenly the Coli is really lonely.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Well, Brad Pitt said it was a dump after he turned down all that money from the Red Sox.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
What they don't tell you is that he said Fenway was a rat trap.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I've been to both....Fenway was cool but it's easier to see a game in Oakland
if you’re just there for the baseball the Coliseum ain’t half bad.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'd love to go to Fenway.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You'll have a blast.
I’m so glad I went and I went to Yankee Stadium before they opened the new one…it wasn’t as charming.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I wish I'd gone to Tiger Stadium, but I missed my chance.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I went there too.....it needed to be torn down.
It had it’s charms but it was kind of dumpy too.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Honestly, I'd be there more for the history than the baseball.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
That's why I went
I went there I think 2 years before it closed….I’ve gone on these baseball trips a couple of times where you hit several stadiums….it’s fun.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I want to do that some day.
I hope this summer I can afford to drive around the southeast and hit a bunch of minor league games.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'd love to spend a season just following the A's around.
Maybe write a book….In Bed with the Oakland A’s.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
All that losing would wear you down.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Nah....I only get pissed at playoff losses for the A's
and that would be blast to do no matter how bad they were.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Let me know when you're ready to do it.
I’ll sell a kidney and join you.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I should have done it with the year I had off
instead I fell in love got married and had a kid.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
What a waste.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Really dumb move on my part.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Everyone screws up once in a while.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I hope it's your kidney, at least.
el campysino - January 11, 2012
Why would I sell my own kidney?
What if the other one fails?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Since you appear to have an ample stock in reserve,
I don’t see what the problem is.
el campysino - January 11, 2012
Can't guarantee a tissue match.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
The Coliseum is hella lovable.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
I used to love it, but not so much anymore.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You're fickle.
TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
Naw. I fully expect to dump my wife when she gets old and find myself a young gold digger.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Probably a young, blonde Giants fan.
THAT’S YOUR KIND OF FICKLE, SIR.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
Never. I have standards.
Maybe a Pads fan.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Just sayin', across the Bay is where all the gold diggers are.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
Gold diggers are everywhere.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
It'll always be my favorite stadium.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Where's Chickie?
Has he heard that Zooey Deschanel is getting divorced?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
It's time for him to make his move.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Seriously. Timing is everything.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Except in humor
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Or sex.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Unti this very moment, I had no idea Demi Lovato was a singer.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I can beat that....I have no idea who she is period.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Lucky you.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Yes. Yes she is.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
I don't feel that my life is any richer for knowing that.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You know who Demi Lovato is. That's something.
And it should be.
LIKE I’M MADE OF GLAAAAASS LIKE I’M MADE OF PAPERRRR.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
I had heard her name in the past, but only knew that she was a celeb of some sort.
I assumed she was an actress.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
She was. She started out as a Disney channel actress.
Then she moved on to singing, as the Disney pop-culture-factory ladies often do.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
Ah.
Thanks.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Well, and because she went into treatment for an eating disorder + emotional issues and thought it wouldn't be healthy to get back in front of the camera.
She’s released a couple albums.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
...Why the fuck do I know all this.
Kyli - January 11, 2012
That is a great question.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
The People's Choice Awards are stupid.
Lea Michele is funnier than Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, and Kaley Cuoco? Um, no.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
It's this person's choice not to care about those awards.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Good call.
But I don’t have command of the remote control tonight.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Luckily we have 4 TV's
My wife has control of the big room so that DVR is loaded with Kardashians.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I have no interest in them.
We have 1 TV and no cable.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I have control of the DVR in my office so it's loaded with hardcore porn and Raiders game film.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'd rather watch porn.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'm at the point I'd rather watch game film
in fact I’d pay big money to watch coaches film…..that is the only way to really see football.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
That would be fun.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Ok, Maroon 5 over Red Hot Chili Peppers?
You’re fired, America.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Is there a 3rd choice?
I’ve liked a few Chili Peppers songs but the only thing Maroon 5 makes me feel is the urge to change the radio station.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
You'd vote for Coldplay.
They were a choice. Can’t remember the rest. In a couple of years, no one else will either.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I would vote for Coldplay although their most recent album is their worst.
It has about 5 good songs and the rest is filler at best.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
That Moves Like Jagger song is one of the worst things ever.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I've heard that one.....not a fan.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Band you hate the most?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Ooh, tough one.
There are a lot that I hate. If I had to pick just one, maybe the one that did that Fly Like a G6 song.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
If you don't know their name then you must not hate them that much.
It is is a tough one….I want to pick someone who isn’t just some one hit wonder though.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Ok.
I can’t stand Mariah Carey. Maybe more than Celine Dion, even.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Wait, maybe Toby Keith.
Although that hatred wouldn’t be limited to musical reasons. He’s just a douche.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Hmm.....I've never heard Toby Keith...not a country music fan....Mariah Carey I thought was hot at one time
Celine Dion is bland.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Actually I only like country music when it's sung by Englishmen.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
What about Australians?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'm not sure I like any Aussie bands.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
AC/DC!!!!
What about Men At Work?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
AC/DC has some fun songs...kind of pop metal.
Men at Work….don’t they only have two songs?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Probably.
Vegemite-eating bastards.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
You shook me all night long is a good song to run to.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
The walls start shakin', the earth was quakin',
My mind was achin’, and we ate bacon and you,
shook me all night long!
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'd love to hear EN's answer on this one since he's Mr. Music.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
He'd pick someone I've never heard of.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Most likely but he'd have a good reason for it.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Oh, I have no doubt.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I'm going Aerosmith
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Ouch. I like them.
Well, not the newer stuff.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I respect the fact that they've had success but I hate Tyler's voice
and like I said I didn’t want to pick some no name little band and Aerosmith is one of the biggest bands of all time.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Fair enough.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
See Oz you should do your Top 10 bands.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Mine is just steak written 10 times.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Hmm, there's a thought.
1. The Beatles
2. Led Zep
3. Black Sabbath
4. Pink Floyd
5. Metallica
6. Primus
7. The Grateful Dead
8. AC/DC
9. Cream
10. The Jimi Hendrix Experience
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't see a 2011 Ford Mustang on that list.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Good point.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I don't love any of those bands
but I like one of them….I like Clapton’s stuff away from Cream more than his stuff in it…..you’re a big time classic rock fan that’s for sure.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Yeah, I'm surprised I didn't have more metal on there.
Live and learn (about yourself).
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Since I love Genesis I should be a big Floyd fan I guess but I like the more pop rock stuff by Genesis over the prog stuff.
Bed. - January 11, 2012

Bed. - January 11, 2012
School starts next week.
Let’s see:
1) I have to be AT clinicals at 0600.
2) I’ve been getting up at 1430 every day.
3) I don’t have my homework done.
4) I don’t have my reading done.
5) I don’t have my uniform patches sewn on.
I don’t want to go back.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
You'll make it
and besides sleep is overrated.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I went to be at 2100 a few nights ago.
Got up at 0500 and 0800. Then I went back to bed and slept until 1400. Then I got up, then went back to bed and slept until 1630. This is not a schedule of a productive person.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
You can do this. You'll do great.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
BABIES, Oz.
This is my textbook (WARNING: GRAPHIC!) – http://t.co/2q02GGNv
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
No problem.
Babies are bloody bundles of joy.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
I will be delivering babies. BABIES.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
pfft....been there, done that.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I know, but I don't.
I am the person down at the other end, being calm and knowing things.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I don't see what could possibly go wrong.
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
First, I am claustrophobic as fuck.
I do not foresee this going well,
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Just keep reminding yourself:
“It could be worse. It could be me trying to shoot a watermelon out of my coochie.”
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
Claustrophobia might be a problem for the baby
Delivery rooms aren’t all that cramped, are they?
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
Ours wasn't
Bed. - January 11, 2012
You're in Arkansas. You had your baby in a barn, right?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
YeeHaw!!!
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I am okay if I just go in and just get shit done.
But I can’t just stand in there letting the room fill up. The group of 15 were in the med room last semester and the teacher noticed my panic. She let me stand in the hallway and listen to report.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I'm still amazed I didn't pass out
I was so tense but it all worked out….the drugs for both of us helped.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm scared about looking at a placenta.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I focused on her face
I would have passed out if I had been doing your job.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
My BFF, Nurse Sam, is having a baby in April
She doesn’t want anyone to look at her vag. She wants to put a fenestrated drape over everything but the babies head when it comes out.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
That makes sense to me.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I am scared of a tearing vagina, Bed.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
We're all scared of that
I still can’t get over how something so big comes out of something so small.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
We have OB classes AFTER we take the clinicals. WHY!?!?
That’s also scary.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I can understand that
My mom was an RN and my dad was an MD. My mother worked up until about her seventh month of pregnancy with her first baby, and she had the baby at the hospital where she and my dad were working. So she was embarrassed to get into the delivery room and realize that she knew every single person there. She was even less pleased when the doctor said she was a couple of hours away from serious labor, and he, my dad, and the intern set up a poker game on the other bed in the room.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
I will admit, we folk in the medical field are some sadistic bastards.
One day I took lunch orders as we were coding someone. Chest compressions. “Hey, we’re getting Subway, what does everyone want?” type of stuff. We have to talk about all that stuff and makes jokes, or else we’d all kill ourselves in the parking lot before we got home.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Cool, can I get a girl?
And if you’re not here in 30 minutes, she’s free right?
ozzman99 - January 11, 2012
No it's not but the profession you're entering into isn't known for easy hours.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I've been watching a lot of old Paul Newman movies.
“Message in a Bottle” is on TV now. I can’t watch it. Too sad.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I might see if Miss Hawaii wants to start watching old movies....I think we've seen every current one on DVD now.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I was gearing up for Indecent Proposal, but some stupid shit is on now.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Going from Newman to Redford.....I took the most evil woman I ever dated to that movie.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Man, old Hollywood was amazing.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I love old movies
Bed. - January 11, 2012

Bed. - January 11, 2012
It feels wrong.
Maybe he went to my car for me?
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Either that or he's on FK like everybody else.
Bed. - January 11, 2012

Jennifer - January 11, 2012

It does look yummy
I love hard salami wrapped around a black olive stuffed with cream cheese.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
that screams of euphemism
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
It does.....my Grandma always said Brian if you're going to have salami have it hard.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Grandma also said always bet on black, hit on 16 and never trust the Swedish.
Bed. - January 11, 2012

Bed. - January 11, 2012
Have we ever had a 5 day lounge before?
That banning thing sure has helped the site.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
No truth to the rumor that the lounge is where they send people in the witness protection program.

according to Marine Layer quoting MLB.com. The blue-ribbon panel made a presentation to the executive committee.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
So you're saying I shouldn't buy that house in San Jose quite yet then?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'd like to say sorry for that time I said that thing about that person.
Bed. - January 11, 2012

This is a no entertainment zone.

It's the January doldrums
Even if the weather is more like October, the days are still short.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
It's dark here at about 2pm
and for the first time it’s getting really cold.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I just ran to my car.
It was BAD.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Thankfully ours are in our garage.
It’s been a mild winter so far but I feel revenge coming soon.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Saved me a trip, thanks!
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
I need to get out and see the sunshine this weekend
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
I need a nanny or to be 10 years younger.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I need a full-time staff of three
Maid, cook, and business manager. Then I could manage the rest of my life, I think.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
That would work....now all I need is a lot of money.....good thing I'm a public school teacher.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
there's big money in education, or so I hear....
where it is, I don’t exactly know
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
It's not coming my way that's for sure but I mostly teach to get the summer off.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
buy me a plane ticket, I'll give you a weekend break
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
I do think Grandpa is going to pinch hit this weekend.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm scared for this weekend....
We’ve had 2 deaths at work. The third is just around the corner. It will probably be my aunt, since she made a totally 180 in her condition. They are talking about discharging her. Sunday I had to call my mom and tell her she was going to die.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I hope no deaths for my family this year....we had two big ones last year
it really was awful.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Wow. That must have been horrible.
I had to tell my mom that my little brother and his wife had been seriously hurt in a car crash. It was not pleasant, especially since the only information that I could get out of the nurse who called me was that they were in the ICU, and could I give them information on my sister-in-law’s next of kin? (They’re both fine now.)
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
I'm enjoying this chocolate milk phase much more then the salad phase
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
I like both of those things but one more than the other.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
It was your heart on the line, I really fucked it up this time didn't I my dear?
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm the only one who will get that.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Ha!.....I'm listening to the CD right now.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
True story.
BFF Grits and BFF Brownie watched the World Cup with Mumford and Sons. I was passed out by the port-a-potties. I was pissed when I woke up.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Everytime I wake up by the port-a-potty I'm pissed.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Okay I hadn't watched Happy Endings before, gave it a shot today and think I like it.
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
So it ended happily then.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm thinking about watching "The Way We Were".
Will it make me cry?
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
All you need to know is Bruce Willis is dead the whole time
and it’s been so long since I saw that movie I can’t remember the ending.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
So what you're saying is you only have misty watercolor memories of it?
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
Clever
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Or laugh. It's pretty sappy.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll belch....The Way We Were.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
never saw it
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
The worst part of being a parent?
I can’t do the dingo ate my baby joke anymore without making people uncomfortable.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I found a porkchop shaped bib at a store one time.
I brought it home for one of our kids, and I thought the Mrs was going to shoot me.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
I think Miss Hawaii and I will make for a good team
she’s got that overprotective thing going and I’m wondering when we should let the kid start driving.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I mean hell it's not like she has to learn how to drive stick or anything.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I had to learn on an old Ford truck.
4-speed non-syncro manual w/ twu speed rear axle. Talk about jumping into the fire!
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
When I learned to drive my stepdad kept me in a parking lot for 19 hours learning how to park
and then my Dad gave me the keys and took me out on Watt Ave during rush hour.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Sink, or swim!
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Pretty much
and both of the extremes made me ready to go.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
This is what I want to get Nurse Sam's baby.
She wanted a shirt that read, “When in doubt, pull out.”
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
That's cute
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I like it!
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
I really need to put aside 90 seconds for a haircut.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I just do a twu-hair, Al Davis comb over.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
I buzz it down to 1/8 of an inch....it's fast but it still costs 20 bucks.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
We all thought Al's do was bad, until we saw his son's

Bed. - January 11, 2012
I can recommend a good surgeon
she took care of some of my hair in a flash…
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
On my knee surgery they shaved my entire leg....I felt like a swimmer or Tootsie.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
When I have mine knee surgery, I'm thinking of having them just transplant the hair to my scalp.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Or, "my" knee surgery....
(fixed for the grammar police)
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Those grammar police bastards haven't gotten me yet!
Oh damn here they come!
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I was teaching present-tense verbs to the kiddies today
How they change with singular and plural subjects. I think it fried my brain a little.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
I napped through most of my classes today and then just gave out random F's.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Yeah, the kids rat on me tuu their mom when I start dropping the "F" bombs around.
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Well if I dropped an F bomb at school I'd have a lot more time to Lounge that's for sure.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
okay, I think I need to shut this computer down and go read until I fall asleep
good night lounge!
gigglingone - January 11, 2012
Goodnight, giggs♥
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012

Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
Goodnight, gigs.
I hope your book is more entertaining than we were tonight….well, I guess it would have to be.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Ciao!
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012
Everybody have fun tonight, everybody Duran Duran tonight.....hmm...I might have gotten that wrong.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Goodnight, AN!
I have to get up early to start my handicap ramp into the house. I better finish it before going under the knife
Tutu-late - January 11, 2012
Goodnight, Tutu
good luck with the ramp and the surgery.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Nighty night!
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012

Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
Soon all lounge's will last 3 weeks and just be the 7 of us saying hello and goodbye to each other.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
We are halfway there.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
Livin' on a prayer
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
Take my hand we'll make it, I swear.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
So I guess Future Ed and attijah have started their own law firm to defend pigeons.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Dewey, Pouponem, and Howe?
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012

I was surprised he took such a small role until I realized that the director was the same guy from Capote.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
For the pigeon movie we're hoping to get Uwe Boll to direct.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
We had a good thing going but love never lasts I guess.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Perhaps we should invade the Pirates blog to add fresh blood to AN.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
not gonna get a lot of new ppl in the offseason
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
I joined in the off-season
and really that’s when A’s news peaks.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
So are we going to have a party when this thread goes off to college?
I’ll bring the ice and the dead sexy.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I'm busy looking up classic movies I haven't watched.
Jennifer - January 11, 2012
I did the AFI Top 100 list and I got around to about 90 of them I think.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
no Breakfast at Tiffany's = invalid list
Copenhagen - January 11, 2012
That wouldn't make my Top 1000 list.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Okay my shift is over.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
I think I've run out of things to say....or maybe I did in 2010.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Thanks for helping me stay awake tonight.
Bed. - January 11, 2012
It's been fun....
Bed. - January 11, 2012
Is this the Arkansas Long Goodbye?
We have that in Minnesota as well.
Englishmajor - January 11, 2012

hello, i need a hug, please.
Athletica - January 12, 2012
Hugs!
(this is Tuck, the empathetic turtle from the Wonder Pets, who always asks politely if he can give the animal they’re rescuing a hug….my great-nieces turned me on to this show.)
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
thanks, n.
Athletica - January 12, 2012

gigglingone - January 12, 2012
HI!!!! {waves frantically!}
ZigFan31 - January 12, 2012
HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gigglingone - January 12, 2012
The Lounge didn't usually have that many people in the middle of the day, right?
But we have to have some place to hide from the meta, and the stadium trolls.
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
It was only busy after games. Usually.
OldhamA - January 12, 2012
I think I read Moneyball faster then it took to watch it
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
This 9-5 malarkey is bollocks.
OldhamA - January 12, 2012
pip pip
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
Sad that you've cottoned on to that so quickly, but true
The bit where they pay you is pretty good, though.
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012

gigglingone - January 12, 2012

ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
Peeks, or pees?
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
I only [poop]
thankyouverymuch
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
I guess that's why you rarely see chicken kidneys on a menu
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
this is true
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
hiya
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
hi pie queen!
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
This day needs more pie
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
all days need more pie
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
totally agree
I might have to stop for pie after class tonight…
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
PIE MOB?
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
my class was just canceled.
guess I can go for pie earlier.
OH WAIT! I can go see MUPPETS!!!!! KYLI, WHERE ARE YOU!?!?!?!
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
oh yeah, huh...
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
You wanna come?

gigglingone - January 12, 2012
omg, I just spit water all over my keyboard....
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
haha I just read that too
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
My aunt keeps trying to die. She's pissed it's not happening.
Twice she has been close to death. Now she’s setting up, eating soup and bitching at people. Dr. Asshole’s response: “What the fuck?”
Jennifer - January 12, 2012
This Lounge will never die!
Bed. - January 12, 2012
lets hope
ChickenStanley - January 12, 2012
All I know is this lounge just joined AARP and pulled it's pants up to it's nipples.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
My Disabled Person Placard just arrived.
I’ve started to carve my false teeth.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
duh, we have a nurse here with us
plus plenty of food (thanks Chickie)
It’s like a tornado shelter, we’re totally safe! {hears the winds rattling at the doors}
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
Sigh.
At least the Lounge isn’t going anywhere.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
we're waaaaay past shady at this point.
stm72 - January 12, 2012
It just needs to get fixed.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
and fast
stm72 - January 12, 2012
I tried.
And failed, I think.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
given how sensitive the users are to past actions taken, you'd think the powers at be would be more concerned about appearances. i guess i'm wrong.
stm72 - January 12, 2012
That's a shame, dan.
We can’t repair the relationships until it happens. I do appreciate everyone’s efforts behind the scenes, to resolve this. I know you, iglew, Bloomie, BBG, and others, have been working hard to make it happen.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Thanks.
I’ve just hit my breaking point, I think. Not sure how much I’ll be involved in non-Lounge AN from here on out.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
That makes me sad
honestly you’re the best baseball writer on the FP.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
This
dan, elcroata, and so many others have done a great service in spreading their knowledge to those of us who don’t know the nuances.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Big time brain drain going on.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Thanks.
If I had to pick one thing that I wanted to do when I started at the front page, it was to bring knowledge from the “inner stat circle” (fangraphs, THT, Tango, etc) to a more mainstream audience.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
You take complicated ideas and make them easier to understand.
That makes you a successful writer.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Exactly. I lot of us aren't stupid, we just don't have the knowledge/education to analyze the way you can.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Thanks, guys.
Means a lot.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
pfft....I'm stupid...it's all about RBI's and grit for me, baby!
and of course you’re exactly right, Tutu.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I can build one hell of a handicap ramp for those of us getting old.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
I'll give you a call in about 25 years.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I'll have one on display in about a week.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Thanks, Bed.
We’ll see what happens, I guess.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
I'll hope for the best
best advice I could give Nico is be honest and just let it all hang out.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Well, pull your pants off,...
and grab a brew! The guac is in the fridge.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
me too brother
stm72 - January 12, 2012
did i miss new meta?
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
A dark conspiracy of silence has gripped the Athletics Nation.....well, not really.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
So more much ado about nothing
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
honesty this thing has about killed the site so we'll have disagree that it's about nothing
Bed. - January 12, 2012
there's a whole post with meta in the title
stm72 - January 12, 2012
too lazy to go to the front page
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
hardy boys or something
stm72 - January 12, 2012
I always liked Nancy Drew better.
Maggie Lawson is a cutie.♥
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
I thought JD Drew was a better hitter though.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
In the words of mikev
I’D HITTER!
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Is she the gal from Psych?...if so she's very pretty.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Yep. That's her.
Next door neighbor type cutie.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
That's a good way to describe her.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
She reminds me a lot of Elizabeth Shue, in that regard.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Oh....I had a huge crush on Ms. Shue
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I did tuu.
I told the Mrs that she was going to be a star, when we saw her in a Burger King ad
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
But who will make us new ones with the mods dropping like flies? D:
Kyli - January 12, 2012
Good point
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Bah and Humbug
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
Okay, off to see if I got a parking ticket today.
I hope you all are still here later tonight when I return!
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
I just can't wait for the meta wars on the Raiders blog
it’ll involve knife fights and looting and Sons of Blanda being wrong about everything.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
1,167 posts in this thread and only 937 of them are by me.
I think we can get this puppy up to 1,500 posts by July or 10 pm if I stick around.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Pacific, or Central?
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Mountain time zone...let's get crazy
Bed. - January 12, 2012
See? This is the type of compromise that needs tu happen!
If we can do this, why can’t AN?
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
We either need compromise or a steel cage match....I'm cool with both.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Hell, both will involve BEER and popcorn!
I’m in.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
I went into a gift shop yesterday, looking for a card for my 3-year-old niece
I’d always felt sorry for the people who owned it as I passed it by — selling greeting cards, ceramic figurines, and scented soaps doesn’t seem like a recipe for success when there are chain stores selling the same stuff and much more within a few blocks. Then once I got inside, I felt less guilty as the clerk barely acknowledged me when I came up to the register. However, I digress. Among the pomegranate soaps and Precious Moments, there was a shelf of gifts for the sports fan with mugs and shot glasses for all the local teams, and Holy Toledo, a dusty pile of six or seven Bill King bottle openers. I would have told the clerk she should put them in the front window with a sign “AS HEARD IN THE HIT MOVIE MONEYBALL”, if she hadn’t ignored me.
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
Fish fillets, and tater tots!
With your choice of BEER or wine. Dinner of champions!
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
I'm very happy that the two leading candidates at this moment to be the next Raiders head coach are bald.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Mark doesn't want anyone competing with him for Most Awesome Hair in the Front Office
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
and really who could?.....that haircut is something else.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Annie Lennox, and Sinead O'Conner?
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Annie just had it close cropped back in the day.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
and Sinead O' Conner I always avoided looking at so I can't comment too much on her haircut.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
You got that right! scarry!
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
ok...go ahead and ruin my joke.
See if I care.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
I'm here to ruin all jokes especially my own.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
So there's a new movie starring Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton....you would have to pay me $5,000 to see that film.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Heh
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
At the Movies with Miss Hawaii and Bed recommends Blackthorn with Sam Shepard.
Interesting western with some great cinematography.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
The best western I've seen lately, was Crossfire Trail.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Sam Sheppard is an awesome actor. I'll put Blackthorn on my list.
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
Put me down for a vote of no confidence
It’s time for a change.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
The question is, how best to accomplish that?
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
I really don't know but it seems obvious to me something has to happen.
I don’t believe anything that is being put out there right now and the jokey attitude doesn’t help.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
It's too late to save AN. It was too late as soon as SBN started.
It’s not too late to save the lounge community.
You know where to go and what to do. Plus, you can change your name whenever you want from the admin panel without having to start a new account.
There are only 13 heterositeual AN loungers left. You’re an endangered breed in this country.
Gaijin_Suketto - January 12, 2012
I'll outlast them all maybe
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
But I'd miss all the "jokes" to serious questions.
It’s like he’s lost his mind or something.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Heterositeual.....Ha!....that's funny, G_S
Hmm….well, I have always been a little bi……wait, what are we talking about again?
Bed. - January 12, 2012
So are snow leopards. AND SNOW LEOPARDS ARE AWESOME.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
I may very well have to make a migration
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
It's beyond frustrating, that's for sure.
danmerqury - January 12, 2012
He doesn't seem to understand what's going on.
Just more jokes.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I'm out of Lounge for a bit, but will be back later
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
Wine..good.
ZigFan31 - January 12, 2012
I sorta miss wine
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
its never too late to open a bottle
ZigFan31 - January 12, 2012
and ruin 8+ years of not drinking, no thanks. I'll stick to diet coke
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
I only had 8 Diet Cokes today.....I'm getting better.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
ah...good call.
congrats!
ZigFan31 - January 12, 2012
When you're in a hole....stop digging.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Other things to do in a hole
Take a nap, eat worms, try to climb out, think about how to bring peace to the Middle East, do the Dougie and think about meta on AN.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I'd like to make a request that a new Lounge be put up as soon as it's convenient for someone to do so.
This thing is pretty full.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I have a fun day at the dentist tomorrow....she's going to sand my wood dentures for me.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
So Athletics Nation are you ready to ROCK?
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I am not able to commit to a course of action re ROCK at this point of time and neither endorse nor shun said ROCK vis a vis my comment
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
I'm not sure I've ever been alone in a lounge at 8:28 pst before.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
hi
ZigFan31 - January 12, 2012
How about at 9:09?
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
It's so cold and dark in here.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
Kyli! Got my Moneyball DVD in the mail today.
Now I know what I shall do this weekend!
whiteshoes40 - January 12, 2012
RUB IT ALL OVER YOUR BODY. :D :D :D
Kyli - January 12, 2012
I liked it more the second time I saw it.
One thing is for sure I know now not to draft a player if his girlfriend is only a 6.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Funny I never want to watch it again, though I would probably read the book again
Copenhagen - January 12, 2012
I rarely read books more than once.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
I've only seen it once and need to see it again to really figure out how I feel about it.
Honestly, after one viewing, I didn’t quite see why critics were drooling all over it. But I saw something (in the Chronicle, maybe?) that said that those who enjoyed the movie the most were those who knew the least about baseball/the actual stuff that happened. Probably not always the case, but seems to be consistent with my experience.
whiteshoes40 - January 12, 2012
I love it because the Coliseum is like my significant other and it brings up all the feelings of baseball and the A's that I want to bottle up and wear like perfume so I never have to feel alone again.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
Okay, yes, that I understand.
whiteshoes40 - January 12, 2012
I missed the last "a" the first time I read this.
I was going to say “wow, I missed quite the something on my first viewing”
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
Ha!.....yeah if the player is dating a 6 year old I'm passing on drafting him.
Bed. - January 12, 2012
...
….
….
yeah, maybe not.
But I definitely will watch it! :D
whiteshoes40 - January 12, 2012
You're not even going to warm it up first?
That’s pretty heartless.
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
I have been known to be heartless, yes...
whiteshoes40 - January 12, 2012
Does this mean it finally snowed in Tahoe?
UrgentMirth - January 12, 2012
So...Don't worry be happy...the worst music video with Robin Williams in it of the 80's or all time?
Bed. - January 12, 2012
Hang on, I'll make a new thread....
gigglingone - January 12, 2012
Tuu, tuu-late:(
I have to go to bed
(notice I didn’t use the “.”)
Tutu-late - January 12, 2012
woot!
ZigFan31 - January 12, 2012
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
Kyli - January 12, 2012
Oh, I got back just in time!
Englishmajor - January 12, 2012
NEW THREAD!!!
