I'm only like 60% in but the basic plot is
America (Panem) is splintered in 12 Districts and the government pits 2 people (boy/girl) from each district in battle to the death every year. Think Running Man for a younger demo. Pretty good character development for the 2 primary characters involved and a few of the ancillary characters.
