I’m just going to say it…..you’ve been my favorite baseball writer on this site. I’d wish you luck but you don’t need it because you have a lot of talent.
I can’t stay long, too much to do before I leave for Reno. I learned today a fact about Candlestick Park that probably everyone else knew….that it was Richard Nixon who officially opened it to professional sports by throwing out the first pitch at the first Giants game played there.

Apparently they built it with pipes underneath that they planned to pump hot water through, to warm the place. But they buried them too deep, so they don’t work.
My colleagues suddenly decided we needed some football content in tomorrow’s show. So I found a column on SI about Candlestick, built on a dump and stayed that way; this is likely its last golden moment.
You know how if you paint your house in ugly colors and pile up trash in the yard, it brings down your neighbor’s home value? I think Billy is operating on that theory. If he makes the A’s crappy enough, maybe the Giants value will drop.
Or, maybe he’s trying to make them as unwatchable as possible, in the hopes that he’ll kill attendance at every park they travel to. It’s a new way to level the playing field.
Or, perhaps he’s been inhabited by the ghost of Fred Sanford.
I’ll start. Working out is supposed to make you feel better, right? So how come I feel like shit? I worked out this afternoon and started to get heartburn. Then I came home and couldn’t keep my eyes open, so I took a 4 hour nap. Then I got up and now my abs ache (which is weird, since I didn’t do any ab work) and my heartburn is back.
Probably not making it to the PGA, hair not coming back, will never figure out what VORP is, I’ll never be as interesting as elcroata and it’s not shrinkage that’s to blame.
It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I recall the BBC television production to be pretty good!
It won a few awards, even. But the only thing to do, really, after reading the entire Trilogy (5 books) is to get the audiobook of Hitchhiker, the one read by Douglas Adams himself, and listen to it. Alone, so you don’t bother anyone.
That's part of it and the Razorbacks were really good this year.
Frankly the problems haven’t hit here as hard. Arkansas never booms and it never busts it just kind of goes along. It’s why our Governors are so popular and then run for President.
The trouble is that the Powers That Be have made it clear that they want the Lounge (and by extension, Lounge-style commenting) hidden from public view. We’re the red-headed stepchildren. We’re AN’s dark secret. I don’t know why, but that’s the way they want it.
AN 8'x13' room in the house that the Mrs said I could have for my music and BASEBALL!
I’ll be able to display some of my knick-knacks. If we do have an AN day, I’ll set something up in the old house, which is now the woodworking shop. LOTS of room there! 1200 square feet

I will miss the faithful few of you who choose to remain and still consider me their friend. I respect you for being who you are. God bless and good luck.

I can see a brokered convention, not to mention upcoming caucus states that Paul can steal delegates in. Combined a recipe for someone not getting to the magic number.

Lazy ass fuckers who can’t even get their ass to the trainer so they can play =/= someone deserving of money.
Frozen this morning, then rain. then hit-n-miss sunshine/clouds/rain. Football game is boring. The puppy sleeps, then jumps up barking, then falls back asleep.
Now if only Alex Smith could complete a pass. I think they gave up on the run in the 4th quarter for some reason. I don’t know why, Gore has been pretty effective. He hasn’t busted out any huge runs, but he’s been pretty consistently gaining 4-5 yards per carry.
I’ve seen it a couple time when there are no options in the hands/arms. I like watching feet IVs because people normaly have giant veins in their feet and it’s fun to see. When shit gets bad and you need a IV it doesn’t matter where you put it, really. They will sometimes go for the feet, but the benefits have to outweigh the risks. People who are diabetic DON’T have IVs started there because the lack of blood flow to those extremities. We’ve used the feet on druggies. There is also what is called an IO – intraosseous. You have this gun (literally a gun) that injects a needle into the bone, like right below your knee in the tibia. IOs are used a lot on babies because their veins are tiny and they have a lot of fat. IOs can be used in codes instead of dicking around looking for an IV site that is non-existent.
Feet are better than the alternative, which is the neck. I don’t handle those well, but again, those were special circumstances. Codes. It was the neck or nothing. When things start going shitty, your vessels constrict making it hard to get an IV started anyway. You gotta go big or go home.
We used the feet because of the pt’s history of multiple surgeries (43 on the stomach alone). They use large bore IVs in surgery, and that causes a lot of trauma to vessels. With that much history, there is almost no way to find a usable site in the arms.
Hey, Jennifer, my Dr said I've worn the end of my left femur flat.
And the right knee joint sounds like its full of gravel. No meniscus, and no slick covering left in either knee. He laughed when I asked him what my options are.
I mean, when you only average 5.4 yds./carry as a team, and you’re completing less than half your passes, throwing the ball is definitely the way to go.
The food bank where Ozzwife works bought their facility in part with a donation from Stealth Concealment Services. What an awesome name! They must be a defense contractor. There’s a company here that makes armored vehicles that are nearly impervious to roadside bombs, maybe they’re involved in that…
… no, they build cell towers that are disguised as trees.
I liked it. It wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be very Judd Apatow-ish, but it wasn’t. It had a more indie feel to it, if that makes sense. Good movie.
the good thing about the jar of spaghetti sauce getting knocked over, spilling on myself, and then splattering on the floor? I didn’t need to use the towels to clean it up…..my shirt, on the other hand, is in the washing machine now……
The last year they had it, the Q & A was dominated by teenage girls asking Bobby Crosby to go out with them and adult fans of both sexes asking Bobby Crosby why he was such a lousy baseball player. But other than that I found them worthwhile,.
So one of my charges at the local library's homework helpers program...
came running up to me the first day after the Winter break and asked, “What is two?”
“Come on, Ruby, you know exactly how many two is.”
She looked up at the ceiling with a frown bemoaning the dim-witted things grown-ups say and, shaking her head, re-phrased her question. “I know how many two is. I am asking what two is.”
“It’s a number.”
“What’s a number?”
I’m so proud at this moment. A question most high schoolers don’t think about asking.
Instead of answering, I gestured at the table and said, “Tell me something about this table.”
“It’s brown.”
I am really excited now. “Aha! And what is brown?”
“It’s a color.” She has a look on her face as if she’s thinking I’m really not the person who can answer her question.
“Good. And what’s color?”
“It’s how it looks. It’s how I can tell it’s not …{thinking for a second}…. a banana.”
“Well, there you go. Numbers des-cribe {pronouncing it slowly} things. Just the way colors do.”
She stops, thinks for a second, and, unconvinced, shakes her head.
“But I know what brown is. I can see it. I can’t see ‘two’ by itself.”
I have never had a happier moment teaching, Jo. Here’s a four year old girl asking me to explain the abstract nature of math. Things I can’t adequately explain without resorting Number theory. The difference between higher-functioning predecessors of homo-sapiens and the members of the other, less fortunate branch of the evolutionary tree.
So, I nodded.
“Very good. But tell me this. When I say two, what are you thinking?”
She holds up two fingers.
“Mmhmm. Now listen carefully. How about when I say ‘brown’? How do you know that what I see as brown is the same thing as what you see as brown?”
She is thoroughly confused now. I pointed to the desk. Then to lighter brown folder.
“Which is brown?”
“Both.”
“Exactly! See, brown can be different things. Colors are harder to tell apart, right? But numbers are very easy. Two can only mean this many {holding up two fingers}. It can’t be three. Numbers are, we like to say, pre-cise. Because of this, we can do so many cool things with them. We can add, subtract, multiply and divide and so much more. Does that make sense?”
She shakes her head uncertainly.
“That’s all right. But you have to keep asking. That’s what learning is.”
Somewhat reassured, she nods and starts to take out her actual homework assignment.
This whole exchange with a little girl, who five months ago, couldn’t say hello to me.
You know bots aren’t talkers. Besides I don’t think I could pinpoint one source. More a combination of variety of things. State of things here being one them.
Except it is now against the rules to discuss differences of opinions and unsavory events from the past. Particularly those that are critical of management.

Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
Yeah but then I'd have to live in California.
I moved for a reason…..mainly to be closer to the ocean.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Just buy a sea shell and hold it up to your ear.
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
I see about as much ocean here as I did when I lived in Sacramento.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Sac never impressed me. Expensive like the Bay area,
but as fashionable as Bakersfield
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
Oh gosh it's a lot cheaper than the Bay Area
and I love my hometown enough to say it’s much nicer than that pit down in Bakersfield.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
I sold the house I owned in Sacramento over a year ago
if it had been in the Bay Area we might have stayed in Hawaii.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Yeah, but you have to realize that I live in one of the poorset counties in CA.
Everywhere else seems like the BA,
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
The place I sold in Sacramento would have gone for 3 times as much in parts of the Bay Area.
and the home I have now would be worth god knows how much there.

Dallas could throw another perfect game this year. And I’m optimistic about the Raiders over the next couple of seasons.
Englishmajor - January 19, 2012
Also, I heard that story from a teacher in HS.
I can’t verify that it’s true, but I have no reason to doubt it.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
So..
Johnny Gomes?
What the fucking fuck? Fuck.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
this
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
My thoughts exactly
Apparently Petaluma is the new undervalued commodity
cuppingmaster - January 19, 2012
is he really 38?
Berry Jo - January 19, 2012
?
He’s 31
cuppingmaster - January 19, 2012
I saw that somewhere and thought....what? too old. that's Twitter for ya
Berry Jo - January 19, 2012
The best way to rebuild is to use roster spots on crappy older players with no upside.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
So I think, before the 2010 season
Billy Beane and Brian Sabean switched bodies. That’s the only explanation I’ve got
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
I was thinking along those lines today, but nobody acquired recently is over 35
except for Colon but P don’t really count.
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
It's the wacky feel-good comedy of the year!
Englishmajor - January 19, 2012
I've got some theories.
Or, perhaps he’s been inhabited by the ghost of Fred Sanford.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
So... what's new?
I’ll start. Working out is supposed to make you feel better, right? So how come I feel like shit? I worked out this afternoon and started to get heartburn. Then I came home and couldn’t keep my eyes open, so I took a 4 hour nap. Then I got up and now my abs ache (which is weird, since I didn’t do any ab work) and my heartburn is back.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
working out sucks which I why I haven't done it since high school
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
I know if I keep at it for a week, I'll start to feel good.
That’s what’s happened in the past. It’s just hard to stay motivated for that 1st week.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Keep doing it
Your body will adjust.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
If you can suffer symptoms of disease psychosomatically, why can't you get the results of a workout the same way?
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Human body's a weird thing
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Some humans have bodies that are very nice, and not weird at all.
At least not weird to look at (I’m looking at you, Christina Hendricks).
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
So I guess I shouldn't have ordered 6 boxes of Girl Scout cookies today.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
That means you're very unfit.
That said the workout and post-workout are never fun. Beig able to fit into your clothes is the only benefit.
OldhamA - January 21, 2012
After a week of this, I'll feel good and enjoy working out.
But right now it’s miserable.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
So is the entire cast of BSG on The Firm, or just the cylons?
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
I didn't understand a word of this sentence.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
I never bothered to watch, I don't think that has a long shelf life
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
I don't watch the show, just happened to flip through that channel twice tonight.
Saw Leoben the first time, and a Six the 2nd time.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Anti-nerd.
You’ll be the first we come for when we take over the world.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Battlestar Galactica = BSG
Cylons were aliens on that show. The Firm is a new show inspired by the Grisham novel
darooster - January 19, 2012
I think the A's 2 most recent signings should release a (barely) alcoholic, fruit-flavored beverage.
They can call it Bartolo and Gomes. They can even be the old guys in their commercials.
Thank you for your support.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
The way the A's will play
reminds me of another baseball player.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Heh!
At least there aren’t any players named Thunderbird (or are there?)
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
BRef has nothing
I still think the A’s should at least acquire Brad Hennessey. It’s worth a shot.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
ISWYDT
Heh!
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
They need another smoke and mirrors pitcher to replace Moose Costco
I suggest Jung Bong.
Thank you, I’ll be here all night. Try the veal.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Bong? Do you know how many hits people get off that guy?
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Now I'm wondering if I could put together a nine-man alcoholic lineup...
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
A worthy endeavor.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Are you only using currently active players?
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Nope, all-time
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Well, you've already got Hennessy and Jack Daniels.
I’d suggest Jai Miller, although there must be tons of other Millers to choose from.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Yeah, I'm digging into it... I might be able to do it
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Maybe you can find a spot on the bench of Doug Mientkiewicz.
I heard him say in an interview that a lot of people mis-pronounce his name “Manischewitz.”
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Great episode of The Twilight Zone on tonight.
It’s the one where the spaceship crashes on an asteroid and are struggling to survive.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
I sure hope the powers that be are looking for talent.
The brain drain is staggering.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
No worries, I'm still here.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Thank God....you're one of the folks keeping me here.
But my talents will be in two spots now….and by talent I mean total lack of.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
I may start exploring my other options as well.
I love the Lounge, but it’s clear that AN is dying.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Honestly the articles, while usually great, aren't the draw for me
I’ll be happiest once game threads return
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
I read some of the articles, not many.
I’ll see how gamethreading is now, but I’m not hopeful.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
Many of the lounge MVP's are there now....hell am I going to get in trouble for even talking about this?
Bed. - January 19, 2012
I dunno, but at this point, it's worth the risk to me.
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
I want this to work....I really do but....
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Can't call them MVPs when they desert.
OldhamA - January 21, 2012
Mmmm... dessert...
Kyli - January 21, 2012
mmm indeed, that sounds good and would go with my coffee
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Ok, off to find something to eat.
I probably won’t be back tonight. See y’all later!
ozzman99 - January 19, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
Goodbye Oz......I hope to see you here or elsewhere.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
So Cope....any requests?
Bed. - January 19, 2012
A Sharks goal.
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
I'll get right on that.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
I present... the all-alcohol team:
SP: Blue Moon Odom
RP: Brad Hennessey
CL: Rod Beck
C: Jameson Smith (minors)
1B: Johnny Walker (If only he was a Red…)
2B: Paul Popovich
3B: “Captain” Morgan Ensberg
SS: Ketel Marte (minors)
LF: Jai Miller (just for Cope)
CF: Joe Cuervo (Indy league, but, eh… couldn’t leave that one out)
RF: Jack Daniels
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Well, I guess you found your next FP post....well, the one after the 12 posts you'll write about Seth Smith.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
A post with a double "well"....I'm so proud of me.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Nah
I’m going to try (and fail miserably) to make some pretty graphs like danbot.
About the team in terms of Value Over Replacement Seth Smiths.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
I'll be rooting for you, Yon
you have talent as a writer.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Thank you
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
So... I'll admit
I’m jealous of the 49ers and their fans. There. I said it.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
They're good fans and it's been a while since their team was any good....I wish them the best.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
WE'VE been jealous of your team in the past and probably will be in the future as well...
Berry Jo - January 19, 2012
49er fans have 5 Super Bowls to enjoy they shouldn't be jealous of anyone.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
exactly
especially anything thing out of dallas.
ChickenStanley - January 19, 2012
Which is why I really, really, really don't want them to have a chance at 6
Yeah, I’m petty.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
pfft...my team has been stuck on 3 since 1984 so cry me a river boys.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Three Rivers?
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
McAfee is telling me this site is dangerous for my computer
Bed. - January 19, 2012
it is now lol
ChickenStanley - January 19, 2012
I laughed
I wonder if I’m trying to hold onto something that just isn’t here anymore.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
naw
just give it time. everything changes and goes back. like the tides haha
ChickenStanley - January 19, 2012
It all depends if folks comeback
right now the other place is a lot more lively.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Hmm
What is
Network Associates Oakland-Alameda County Overstock.comO.co telling you?YonYonson - January 19, 2012
That my laptop will self destruct the next time I use a VORP joke.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
sharks have a guy named wingles on the team. whoa.
stm72 - January 19, 2012
and he looks like he is 12
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
12?...does he stay up until 3am to watch his team?
Bed. - January 19, 2012
4-1 senators. oops
stm72 - January 19, 2012
When Walter Johnson's on the mound, there's not much hope for a win
Oh, hockey?
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
The first 3 mins of this game were a illusion
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
I think it's obvious that we need to talk more about golf to drive traffic on the site.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
I don't play golf.
Can we talk about cheerleaders?
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
I can be specific now.....goodnight, Cope, Yon, stm72 and Chickie.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
What about me?
We kept this place going earlier.
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
Goodnight, Tutu
Bed. - January 19, 2012
nightie, night, Bed..
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
Maybe you just came back too-too late?
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
I was watching old "Have Gun, Will Travel" reruns.
I should go to sleep as well. Goodnight everyone.
Tutu-late - January 19, 2012
good night!
I’m headed that way too, in a bit.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
Night Bed!
ZigFan31 - January 19, 2012
hey you!
have fun in Reno this weekend
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
It's not too late!
Come!
ZigFan31 - January 19, 2012
Can't
putting a last-minute trip to San Diego on the credit card.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
I need a drinking partner! :)
ZigFan31 - January 19, 2012
Another time, for sure
Even if I went, I could afford water, pretty much. I’m super-broke til next pay day.
YonYonson - January 19, 2012
like you'll have trouble finding one in this group.....
gigglingone - January 20, 2012
I have experience drinking in San Diego.
I know this awesome piano bar…
OldhamA - January 21, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
nitey nite
stm72 - January 19, 2012
Goodnight John-Boy
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Goodnight to my youth
Bed. - January 19, 2012
Goodnight and good luck....unless you're John Elway
Bed. - January 19, 2012
It's a good night to feel alright.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
and most of all...goodnight to my true love....sirbed.
Bed. - January 19, 2012
NIGHT, Kids. See you again another night.
Berry Jo - January 19, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 19, 2012
Night Jo!
We’ll miss you this weekend.
ZigFan31 - January 19, 2012
Damnit
Thought Archer was on at 10:30. Now I’m gonna have to catch the first half later
darooster - January 19, 2012
{sigh}
{hums}
harensheir15 - January 20, 2012
nice
stm72 - January 20, 2012
dammit I keep missing you
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
Good morning everyone.
WooHoo! The rains have finally come to CA!
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
maybe it'll actually snow in tahoe...though its raining in truckee at present
stm72 - January 20, 2012
Wow....you folks were busy there's like 9 new posts since I was on last night.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
So....quick question....what's the meaning of life?
Bed. - January 20, 2012
quick answer..
I dunno
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
pfft....well that doesn't help me at all.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Some journeys you have to travel by yourself.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
as the poet Huey Lewis sang....I never walk alone.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
42?
as in Jackie Robinson, of course.
stormtown - January 20, 2012
I have to admit I wasn't expecting a number for the answer.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I envision performance art where all of your posts get letmegooglethatforyou responses
stormtown - January 20, 2012
all my posts are a sort of performance art.....just not the kind anyone enjoys.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
No one enjoys any performance art, silly!
If it were enjoyable it would not be art.
stormtown - January 20, 2012
Other things I have to admit
Probably not making it to the PGA, hair not coming back, will never figure out what VORP is, I’ll never be as interesting as elcroata and it’s not shrinkage that’s to blame.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Whenever I ask my son a question, he answers "42"
What does it refer to?
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Hitchhikers Guide.
stormtown - January 20, 2012
Ah!
Never watched it.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I think I saw a movie based on it but I remember nothing about it.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Don't bother.
REad the books. They’re awesome. The movie was about as lame as it could possibly be.
Elvez - January 22, 2012
It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I recall the BBC television production to be pretty good!
It won a few awards, even. But the only thing to do, really, after reading the entire Trilogy (5 books) is to get the audiobook of Hitchhiker, the one read by Douglas Adams himself, and listen to it. Alone, so you don’t bother anyone.
paris7 - January 22, 2012
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you
and hear the lamentation of the women
darooster - January 23, 2012
so either the occupy SF protesters all got arrested
or they’re at lunch.
stormtown - January 20, 2012
That's still going on?
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I forgot all about it, to tell the truth.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
It never really hit Arkansas.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Not much to occupy in Arkansas, is there.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Actually politics is a big part of the state
but for whatever reason that cause didn’t make much of a dent here.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Most people working?
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
That's part of it and the Razorbacks were really good this year.
Frankly the problems haven’t hit here as hard. Arkansas never booms and it never busts it just kind of goes along. It’s why our Governors are so popular and then run for President.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
It seems those problems hit the population centers much harder than the rural areas.
Natural disasters(wildfires and droughts) hurt us more.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Well, Little Rock isn't rural and it's not rural where I live either
this just isn’t a very liberal state outside of a couple of spots.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
True, but the population centers don't control the state vote, the way they do in CA.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
But that's where the votes are
Cities rule in the states that have them.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
The Occupy movement never really took off in SC, either.
I think most people here see it as some sort of Commie plot. No, really.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Right....South Carolina is a really red state
Arkansas is more of a purple state but it’s going red.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Your state does seem to crank out the presidential candidates.
Since 1960, I count four governors, one senator, one congressman, and one first lady. Plus one activist whom Arkansas and Oakland share.
iglew - January 20, 2012
Occupy WalMart!
iglew - January 20, 2012
Those poor greeters, greeting all those people
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
it's raining?
stm72 - January 20, 2012
That shouldn't stop people of convictions :)
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
did you mean 'with convictions?' some of these folks have done time...fer sure. just kidding.
stm72 - January 20, 2012
Yeah, I didn't know how to phrase it without causing confusion.
Even if I said, “…of true convictions.”, it would end up the same.☺
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
haha
stm72 - January 20, 2012
I want some fried chicken....or course I always want some fried chicken.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I luv fried chicken
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
But do you lurv it?
darooster - January 23, 2012
Rainy weather makes me want soup
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I'm eating lobster bisque
stormtown - January 20, 2012
Oooh! sounds yummy
Unfortunately, no one else in my family likes seafood the way I do.:(
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Make this.
Broccoli-mascarpone soup. Thank me later.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Wow. That does sound good!
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
It's easy to make and tastes amazing.
My life can be neatly divided into 2 categories: times when I eat that soup, and times when I crave that soup.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
I'll be busy and back to work next week so these lounges should last for months.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Join in from work. :)
The kiddies won’t mind.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
After thinking about it I'm sticking with my Falcons vs Jets Super Bowl pick.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
place shore is lively.
Leopold Bloom - January 20, 2012
Hi, LB!
How are you today?
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Yep.....I'm so torn....still love the format here but so many are gone.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
In the last few months I think almost every part of my life has really changed
Whether by birth or death or conflict or new opportunities.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
At least they show balance.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
It's just a period of change
I think that’s why all of this here has upset me so….this was a place of calm where the names stayed the same and that was comforting.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name.
Of course, YOU change names every couple of hours…
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Yeah, I fooled you all when I went from Bed to Bed.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I totally thought it was a new person.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
I'm just going to throw this out there.
We should consider retiring the lounge. None of the comments here couldn’t be in a DLD and more people might post on those.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
When was the last time anyone did a DLD?
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
I'll start doing one
I’ll do one a week…..we need to try something.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
You sound like my wife during sex.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
I've also agreed to do more
stormtown - January 20, 2012
Right so maybe 2 DLD's a week and if they take off folks will do more.
If this site is just going to be about Seth Smith and the A’s then it’s going to be pretty slow around here.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Yon did one.
It was a REALLY great one! :)
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
How long ago was that?
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Not quite “daily”
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Bed is proposing a WLD, which would be a start.
The trouble is that the Powers That Be have made it clear that they want the Lounge (and by extension, Lounge-style commenting) hidden from public view. We’re the red-headed stepchildren. We’re AN’s dark secret. I don’t know why, but that’s the way they want it.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Yeah but right now the only crude lounge types are you and me
I can do this in a DLD without much adjustment.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I'm pretty sure Jennifer wouldn't last long in a DLD, assuming she hasn't quit us.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
She's pretty much gone as is Athletica
That’s really my point…the lounge as we knew it is dead….period. Let’s find something new that might all work for those of us still here.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
And it can introduce people to the lounge.
Hell, I didn’t even know it existed until late last year, when MO asked where it was.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Right....this thing is hard to find....DLD's aren't.
We need to build this thing back up and DLD’s I think are the way to go.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I'm with you there.
DLDs are fun for everyone.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I'll do one a week starting the 30th for 3 months
to see if we can rebuild this thing. All I’d ask is that people think about posting what they’d post here in the DLD.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
so you do want them to finally get around to banning me, then.
Leopold Bloom - January 20, 2012
NO! :(
no, no, no,…!
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I just want to see if this site can still work
and if I’m talking out of my ass here that’s fine too.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
No need to retire the lounge.
Leave the lounge in place. Just make more DLD’s as a recruiting tool.
iglew - January 20, 2012
Why wouldn't I?
And I’m pretty much done with AN and the other place now that school has started.
Jennifer - January 20, 2012
I love listening to your ER adventures.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I think you'd be fine anywhere.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
The only reason I am here today is because I didn't have school.
Jennifer - January 20, 2012
I'm home sick
I hope you’ll post from time to time on one of the sites….we’re all fans.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Hopefully you have an enjoyable day off
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
Nah, I like the lounge.
I learn a whole lot about the rest of you and the places you live/work/visit. I’m living through the rest of you.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
If you're living through me, you've made me very sad for you.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
You're talking about a lounge that no longer is here.
I’ll stop trying to be serious here I guess.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Things will change come Opening day.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
This has nothing to do with baseball
Bed. - January 20, 2012
No reason why the can't coexist
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
So how long till the Raiders move back to LA?
Will the Coli still be standing in 2020?
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
I think it depends if Mark Davis sells
Bed. - January 20, 2012
he's a weird-looking dude.
And coming from me, that’s saying a lot.
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Yes he is a strange looking cat.
Right now anyone who thinks they know what will happen with the Raiders is just guessing.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I don't know how you guys can say Occupy is dead when people in DC are protesting Jean Quan's taxi
Poor Jean Quan
And the ones in SF are back chanting now.
stormtown - January 20, 2012
Patriots 31 Ravens 17....Giants 21 49ers 17
Bed. - January 20, 2012
I tried to envision what this would mean to someone who has never heard of Football.
It could be a daily list of casualties in a local conflict. Or, a list of Olympic medals.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
keep picking against the niners. i love it.
stm72 - January 20, 2012
Biden did.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
i don't think he mean the ny giants. i think he meant the baseball team...pfft
stm72 - January 20, 2012
I was thinking the same, stm.
shows how much he thinks of the ’49ers
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I thought Grantland had a decent start but it's not built on that much.
Not enough unique voices and too much time on odd Hollywood stuff.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
And even the great writers they hire appear to turn out subpar work on that site
Molly Lambert’s stuff is way less interesting than it was, same with Lisanti.
stormtown - January 20, 2012
More Chris Jones and Chuck Klosterman
less bad pop culture stuff.
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
More Chris Jones and Chuck Klosterman
less bad pop culture stuff.
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
I'm going to go and try to make dinner
I expect to see at least 5 new posts by the time I return.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Yes, Jedi Master.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Why....
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Do...
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
You ....
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Ask...
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
For....
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
So...
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Many?
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
I JUST saw the front page and read this as manny!
ugh……
Berry Jo - January 20, 2012
it is a frighting though but at least he is suspended for 50 games
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
If we could edit comments, I was going to add the "n".
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
So I'm on a train headed for Bakersfield
Then taking a bus for San Diego. This should be an interesting night. How are you, AN?
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
what was your estimated train travel time?
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
~11 hours, I think?
Train to Bakersfield, bus to San Diego. Hopefully I can get some sleep on the bus.
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
hehehe. I read this as "Hopefully I can get some sleep on the bras."
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Hey, what happens on Amtrak...
yeah… should probably not happen.
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
Wonderful things happen to nice guys, Yon.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Nice guys finish last
is a good thing in certain circumstances…
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
I never had that problem. ☺
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
Alive and kicking.
Trying to figure how to set up my AN cave before April.
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
AN cave?
What would this entail, and when are we invited?
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
AN 8'x13' room in the house that the Mrs said I could have for my music and BASEBALL!
I’ll be able to display some of my knick-knacks. If we do have an AN day, I’ll set something up in the old house, which is now the woodworking shop. LOTS of room there! 1200 square feet
Tutu-late - January 20, 2012
SWEET!
Sounds awesome.
YonYonson - January 20, 2012
I hate when movies set in the 80s with a decent soundtrack send me into a 80s music tailspin
any productive reading I had planned is out the window now.

Tonight's Lounge song.....Alone Tonight
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Old lounges never die, they just fade away.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Anybody home?
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
I guess not.
Good night, folks!
ozzman99 - January 20, 2012
Hello, I must be going by Ozzman99
Bed. - January 20, 2012
or night!
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
sorta
Copenhagen - January 20, 2012
Yeah, clearly I was dead wrong....the lounge is in great health.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
You got to know when to hold em', know when to fold em, know when to walk away and know when to run.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Since I took several AN breaks I guess it's only fair that AN is taking a break from me.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Muggy....not sure that helps....pfft......VORP.....FIP.....well, not really.
Golf, polo shirts, dead sexy, preppy bastard, sirbed, Phil Collins, Raiders, Rock Chalk, Jayhawk…..Go KU!…..but seriously, folks.
Bed. - January 20, 2012
Someone tell Kornheiser I have the Billy Joel song up and ready to play.

Is this where I admit I'm actually attijah?
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I am going to miss what this place was.
But nothing lasts forever.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
We're entering AN 3.0 I guess.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I'll leave you with this....
A wise man knows when to fight for something and when to let go.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
You mean
“Know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em”
cuppingmaster - January 21, 2012
Everyone else has let go so perhaps you should too
OldhamA - January 21, 2012
I think you mean everyone has left.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
and excuse me for caring about this place....I'm such a jerk.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Don't get testy with me.
OldhamA - January 21, 2012
If you have a problem with me that's fine, OldhamA
I said what I felt and I wouldn’t take anything back. If that’s being testy then so be it.
I’ve enjoyed posting with you but that doesn’t mean we have to agree on everything.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I don't have a problem with you. You're clearly very emotional and seeing everything as an attack.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
You can be bi...:)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I never said I was leaving.
There’s just more to do at the other spot these days.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I still count and I've not left.
OldhamA - January 21, 2012
I'm here tuu!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I don't recall saying you didn't count...in fact I've complimented you many, many times over the years.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I wasn't asking for a compliment.
You said everyone has left.
I haven’t. I’m probably in the minority, but fuck ’em.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Aww, it's cute how you think you count. :D
You’re British, we don’t count you in These Here Parts.
Kyli - January 21, 2012
Fuck you, I count double.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Aww, don't call yourself fat. :(
Also, bring me some tea out here in the bushes, it’s chilly.
Kyli - January 22, 2012
Me tuu!
It cold out here!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I was calling myself awesome.
And you’ll have to come inside for tea and crumpets.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Wait, you really eat crumpets in BritishPeopleLand?
That’s not just a lie Hollywood tells me?
(I’m actually gonna be in your neck of the woods in a few months. And then I will for realsies hide in your bushes. BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.)
Kyli - January 23, 2012
Anyone awake?
It feels strange to look out the window and see rain! What a winter in Cali.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Fuck rain.
Kyli - January 21, 2012
Thats what rainy days are for.:)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I think it's time for me to finally let go of AN.
This is 110, 734, and I think I need to leave.
I have enjoyed my almost seven years here, for the most part. I would like the retain the option of possibly someday returning, so I’ll avoid slamming anyone or anything. Thank you for the sage advice, bear88.
I will feel a huge, huge void in my life without AN. It has gotten me through some very hard times and introduced me to a group of people who I consider to be my very best of friends.
I will miss the faithful few of you who choose to remain and still consider me their friend. I respect you for being who you are. God bless and good luck.
Leopold Bloom - January 21, 2012
I understand, LB. :(
I did email you, buddy. You will always be my A’s friend.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I hope everyone is fucking happy.
Jennifer - January 21, 2012
I'm not. :(
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
take care man
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Back at you, Bro.
We respect you, too. And you’re still welcome to crash on my futon when you come north.
iglew - January 21, 2012
Well, I guess that just about does it.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Hi Bed.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
If Trent Dilfer is the worst QB to ever win the Super Bowl who is the second worst?
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Tom Brady :)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
You know I feel like I've read both these posts before...how odd.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Yeah,
Next you’re going to tell me that Plunkett was the worst QB to win two SBs. You know, it doesn’t matter, because not many have won twu. ♥
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
It's like you can read my mind or something....or at least read what I post elsewhere.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I'm a dirty mind reader.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I just have a dirty mind.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Had a very southern breakfast for dinner
biscuits and gravy with sausage…..now I’m going to go watch Hee Haw.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I luv biscuits and gravy!
Its my comfort food.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
It's not normally my thing but my Hawaiian wife has fallen in love with southern cooking.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Well, that and...
BEER and popcorn!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Hmm....Coke is my comfort drink and probably a good cheeseburger is my comfort food.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
It should be illegal for Celine Dion to sing a Roy Orbison song.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I just threw up a little.
She makes me sick, yet her singing Roy makes me puke
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
It's pure evil on a stick.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
She is a stick.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
It's been at least a decade since I've seen her but I imagine she's still bone thin.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
She makes Taylor Swift look fat
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Well, who doesn't?
Bed. - January 21, 2012
uh.....everyone?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I think this is where I admit I have no clue what Taylor Swift looks like.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Pretty, but about as wide around as a pencil.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
She is a singer
Here
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I appreciate the thought, Tutu but I don't care enough to hit the link.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
She is real pretty, but a bone rack
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I like women of all shapes and sizes.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Is a straight line actually a shape?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I've dated some petite women...very flexible...which can be fun.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Me thinks she is about 5'-10" or so.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Well, I think we've talked enough about Taylor Swift
shall we move on to Kelly Clarkson?
Bed. - January 21, 2012
ugh!
How about Linda Ronstadt when she was younger?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
No thanks
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Fixed.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
For some reason it feels wrong to eat sunflower seeds when there isn't a baseball game on.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Yeah, spitting out the shells in the rain feels weird
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
could just eat them whole
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
They get stuck in my throat.
Then I sound like a cat trying to cough up a furball
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Or Smeagol trying to say Gollum.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
exactly
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
So Newt wins SC...
Whatever.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
made the primary season much more interesting and I approve of that
you should be happy that Haley and Demint backed the wrong horses
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I don't think Haley and Demint could get ever get anything right.
This state is a disaster when it comes to politics.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I'm a political junkie but I've been bored by this election cycle.
As a Democrat though I’d love to see them nominate Newtie.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I really think the chance of a deadlocked convention and someone
not in the primaries being nominated has grown a bit.
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
It's every political junkies wet dream....a brokered convention!
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Pretty much, I'm kinda fascinated at the prospects of it.
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I seriously doubt it'll happen but it would be fun.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Actually if I was a GOP power broker this would be the best
A new candidate that wasn’t bloodied in the primaries at all and then the Dems would be on their heels a bit coming out of the convention
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I think Romney will just wear the other guys down
and Clinton whacking on Obama for months didn’t hurt him in the general….it’s part of the process.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
He just doesn't play well in the south which is why
I can see a brokered convention, not to mention upcoming caucus states that Paul can steal delegates in. Combined a recipe for someone not getting to the magic number.
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I'd say there's maybe a 1 in a 1,000 chance
we hear the brokered convention thing every cycle and it never happens.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
If they pick Colbert, I'm voting Repbulican.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Ron Paul!!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I'm not voting for him.
I’m a liberal and he very definitely is not.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I'm voting for Joe Biden for Vice President
Bed. - January 21, 2012
He's a big fucking deal.
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I love him and I don't care who knows it.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I am
He wants the gummint out of everyone’s business, and so do I.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I think Ron Paul is wrong about pretty much everything
but if you like him I wish you all the luck in your vote.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I think he wants govt. out of certain people's business, but not everyone's.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
He likes to tell women what they can do with their body
Bed. - January 21, 2012
What about the babies?
Shouldn’t someone speak up for them?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Gosh...should we really do abortion stuff?
I think it’s a bad idea.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I didn't bring it up
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I didn't say you did.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Ok
Lets move on.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Let's just talk about Seth Smith.
No one around here seems to have anything to say on THAT subject.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
My plan is to never talk about Seth Smith
Bed. - January 21, 2012
The A's best-kept secret!
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
It's no secret...the A's stink
but at least they’ll be boring.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Some of the kids will be fun to watch.
And I am curious to see if they develop. But if they don’t develop, my latent anger will be aroused.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I'm not going to watch 1 game
I’m out on the team.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I'll go to a game if I go home.
But I won’t get to watch any games on TV, living in SC and all. And at least I won’t have to think about buying MLB.TV.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Want to get angry?
http://claydavenport.com/?p=108
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
80-82?
Is this guy usually right?
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
dunno woj linked it on twitter
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I hope not.
Are the A’s going to be stuck in near-.500 hell forever?
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
This is my fear
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
The A's either need to move
or be eliminated.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
How does he possibly think we can win 80 games?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Maybe over 2 seasons...
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Was he talking about the number of games we will win before moving to San Jose?
Well, that makes more sense then
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I want to see the cheerleaders develop.
and by “develop” I mean, “DEVELOP!”
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
You're so going to jail...
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
heeheehee!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
If his middle initial was "S"
We could talk about his SSS
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
If his middle name was "Penis",,,
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
We could still talk about his "SSS" :)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
So true.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Yep.
And I’m pretty sure he’d be happy to restrict workers’ rights.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Ron Paul is never going to be President
so I’m not going to lose much sleep over it.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Yeah, if for no other reason than that I don't think his party would support him.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
That and 85% of the country doesn't agree with his ideas.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Not winning the popular vote isn't necessarily a stumbling block to being president.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Yeah well you need more than 15% of the vote though.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
'Tis true.
I will say that like him or not, between him this year and Obama in ‘08, it’s nice to see younger people getting energized about politics.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Yeah but old people are the ones who vote
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Why did you just call me "old?"
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Because you remember young Linda Ronstadt.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
She was HAWT.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
yezzer!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Whatever floats your boat.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
This.
But then, he doesn’t really consider women ‘people’, so. Y’know.
(FLAMES OUT MY EYES)
Kyli - January 21, 2012
I think he supports your right to listen to boy bands, though.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
He doesn't.
That’s how much of an asshole he is.
IF YOU’RE ANTI-GYRATING-MANHIPS, YOU’RE ANTI-AMERICA.
Kyli - January 21, 2012
Did he step on your blue suede shoes?
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Three winnerz in three primaries!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
but they changed the delegate hand out
though that was moot today since he took all 26 precincts
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
It's like Little League.
Everyone gets to play! Awww.
I hope they get participation trophies.
Kyli - January 21, 2012
I am really excited by the thought of Newt being their candidate.
I so want to see the verbal and mental gymnastics required to support a candidate who is a FAR worse husband than Bill Clinton ever was.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
As I said elsewhere
Tonight’s victory proves South Carolina is pro open marriage.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
and between a man and a women without cancer
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Yep.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
As long as it involves a farm animal or twu.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Yep.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Why the hell aren't you at the 49ers site Oz?
Tomorrow is the biggest game for your team in 15 years.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
You mean the 49ers SBN page?
I checked it out a couple of times and it seemed to be filled with assholes.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
So you'd fit right in....I read it a few times it's better than the Raiders site but then so is the plague.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I've never tried the Raider site, but I hear it's worse than HH.
It’s funny, I love football but I don’t like many football fans.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Well, I'd like to think that evil Raiders site doesn't reflect most Raider fans.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Just as Rev doesn't represent most Angels fans.
I hope.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I've never met an Angels fan so I wouldn't know.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
My grampa was one.
Of course, that was back when they were the California Angels, so that was ok.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I don't hate the Angels so their fans are fine with me.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
This reminds me I need to figure out what the hell I'm watching / doing tomorrow
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
At home with friends watching the 60 inch screen eating meat.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I should have held on to a Netflix movie or two
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Why is your TV eating meat?
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
If the A's sign Manny I plan to watch less than one game this season.
Who’s next?…Ricky “Wild Thing” Vaughn?
Bed. - January 21, 2012
John Rocker
Yech!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Signing Manny is something I wanted the A's to do...
Eleven years ago.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Didn't the A's have a chance to trade Eck for him when he was a kid with Cleveland?
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I don't know, but I'm glad they didn't.
Funny, those Cleveland teams needed SP’s more than RP’s.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I wish they had...Eck was at the end of the road and Manny was a stud.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Eck was one of my all-time favorites.
I would’ve been ok if they kept him forever.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I loved Eck but I'd trade anyone to make my team better.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Shit, you'd probably trade me to make AN better.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I think we're past that.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
You couldn't get fair value for me.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Couldn't get anybody to come here
just like Free Agents and Oakland.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
So I'm Coco.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Oh I think you're much better than he is
Right now I think you’re King of the Lounge.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Should I stand on the bow?
Can I sleep with Kate Winslet?
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
If I were you I would.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
If I were me, I would too.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Who is this Kate you speak of?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
The beauty from Titanic!
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Never saw it.
I don’t like leonardo de crapeo
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I think he's a very solid actor.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I agree, although I didn't care for his performance in that movie.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
He was pretty young back then
Bed. - January 21, 2012
He was good in that movie with Johny Depp, though.
I think it was the directing.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I think he's been good in several movies
but I’m not in the mood to list them.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Yeah, but I meant that the one i mentioned was before Titanic.
So age wasn’t the issue.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Really good in What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
That's the one I meant.
Couldn’t think of the name.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I liked him on Growing Pains
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Pure acting genius.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I never saw one minute of Growing Pains so I'll take your word on that one.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I want to punch him in the face.
I can’t look at him without remembering that stupid trap where even the third deck could see the ump was wrong and he was all smug and I WANTED TO PUNCH HIM.
Lazy ass fuckers who can’t even get their ass to the trainer so they can play =/= someone deserving of money.
I HAVE SOME HATE.
Kyli - January 21, 2012
Take a deep breath.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Tell us what you really think, Kyli
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Just curious but what the hell are you people going to talk about during the season?
The game threads should be fun when the A’s are 21-38.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I think I'll talk about the 49ers.
Winning the Super Bowl should give me 8 months of stuff to talk about.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
If they win I imagine it won't much matter how bad the A's are.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Not to me, no.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Good luck....I'm pulling for the 49ers.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Thanks, me too.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I figured that.
I’ve never disliked the 49ers…they aren’t a rival to the Raiders since they play in a different conference.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I used to hate the Raiders, but that's kind of faded away now.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
The Raiders aren't good enough to hate
they’re mediocre which is boring. I do love it so though when on AN someone tells me all the teams I must hate…..just my favorite thing ever!
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I can give you a list, if you want.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
You go ahead and do that.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Maybe in Top 10 form.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Yeah well I did my last top 10 list in this thread so it's yours if you want it.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I'm best-suited to stealing other people's material.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
You do mine better than I do so that's fine.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Not really, but thanks.
You crack me up. I sort of idolize you.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Well....that's very nice of you to say.
I hope you know how big a fan of yours I am….it’s one of the few reasons I’m still on AN at least part of the time.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Well thank you!
Between you, my wife and my mother, it’s nice to know there’s 1 person on earth that doesn’t hate me.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I do hope you'll consider
looking at the other place….we had 1,500 comments in our first lounge there last night.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I really don't see us scoring 21 runs in one game.
Maybe for the season….
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I think this might be the worst A's team in years.
I really kind of hate them at the moment.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Well, I can see the other team scoring 38 in a game.
But us scoring 21? Not gonna happen.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I will be bitching about people that should be playing riding the bench or in Sac
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Have fun with that.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I plan to,
I weep for my twitter followers that will be subjected to that daily
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Reply fail?
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
so it would seem
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
more of my focus is on the soccer game atm
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Communist.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I didn't focus on soccer even when I played it.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
The only time I found soccer interesting was the game highlights in the movie, "Victory"
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
The only thing I remember about that movie is Pele out acting Stallone.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
My toenail clippings can act out-act Stallone. And have.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
The girl was a cutie.
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I never saw it.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I don't remember the woman but she's probably 65 now so I'll pass.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
She probably knows all kinds of sex stuff.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I know enough already.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
How young ARE you?
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
A lot younger than 65
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I did say
was!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
He's been good in a few films
Rocky 1 & 2, First Blood and Cop Land come to mind.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Never saw First Blood or Cop Land.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
First Blood is a really good film...the sequels are bad to awful.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
I'll think about seeing it.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Cop Land is also very good.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
Cheerleaders FTW!
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
I want to see the cheerleaders develop. :)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I really hope your cellmate is small and gentle.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
hehehe :)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Well, I'm off to eat meat for dinner!
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
Sounds delicious!
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Gotta go, see y'all later!
Sleep well, goofballs.
ozzman99 - January 21, 2012
Bye Oz.
Bed. - January 21, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
Goodnight, ozz
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
I'm outta here as well.
The kiddies want to watch “Cars”, and you know how much I luv my auto racing.:)
Tutu-late - January 21, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 21, 2012
I'll leave you with this....
Thank you for three wonderful years. I wish everyone on Athletics Nation all the best.
Goodbye, Brian
Bed. - January 22, 2012
Goodbye Brian.
Sad to lose you, but you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Sorry to see you go, Bed.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
take care man
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
WTF?
BL!!
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
Damn almost everyone has left.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
pretty much
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
what up with us?? ha!
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
It's nothing to do with us - but yeah, they've all gone.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
I was hoping the lounge would stay vibrant....since it's not the FP.
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
Apparently not.
I guess the FP stuff cut too deep for a lot of people.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Yeah, The lounge needs to be treated differently
Friends being friends.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I've honestly been too busy to take any notice of the fall out.
I’m sure it’s all horrendous.
I doubt I’ll transfer unless I receive some sort of bonus and an invite.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Some forced it on themselves.
Some just left. We all have to do what we think is right.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
There's only one option if the Lounge is dead though.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Recruit new loungers,
like Bed. said.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Well that's an option too I suppose.
Just not one I’m willing to go through with.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
I wouldn't know how
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
It's a lost cause at this point.
There’s about 4 ppl left in the Lounge. No doubt being laughed at on t’other side for their foolishness in sticking around.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
I take what LB said as the truf
No disrespect would being shown. It will all settle down, once the season starts.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I'd be surprised.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
It has nothing to do with us Loungers, though.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
What doesn't?
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Their disappointment.
I don’t see why it would be taken out on those remaining. That wouldn’t be logical.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I just found it a little strange that they all left at the same time.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
I wasn't around when the Lounge was formed.
So, I don’t know a lot of the reasons for what has happened this week.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
It goes way before the lounge was formed.
Kyli - January 22, 2012
No one's laughing at anyone, or at any of this unhappy situation, as far as I know
But you know that those of us who have left, or who are in both places, are enjoined by the new rules here from discussing the circumstances.
Englishmajor - January 23, 2012
Honestly until games start up, it is what it is
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Exactly. People are busy, and there really isn't much going on with the A's at this point.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I'd suggest we've lost 30 or so regular Lounge contributors.
That’s not something that will be replaced any time soon.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
I wish there was another option.
Like a third-party lounge site on neutral territory.
With ponies.
(I like ponies)
Kyli - January 22, 2012
Ponies with ribbons in their tails♥
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Are there any other kind?
Kyli - January 22, 2012
Well our daughter loves pink ponies.
I like reds like Secretariat.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
This, this, this
It’s really very sad. To lose so many over something so stupid and ultimately pointless.
darooster - January 23, 2012
Steven Tyler looked( and sounded) real sad. :(
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Hey, JoJo!
Is your daughter still taking classes with Teenie?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
she's just about done...she wanted to but I am not sure she could get one in. Teenie was on sabbatical last year I think
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
Ah. I talked to her at a class reunion this fall.
She was very content
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
This football game is a real yawner.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I was napping.....gonna go watch the other one elsewhere....
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
I hope it gets a little more exciting.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
gonna be a fight in this game - just a matter of time
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
I wish someone would knock Brady the fuck out.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
He seems to have plenty of time to work.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I'm out...see you later.
Berry Jo - January 22, 2012
'night BerryJo
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
cya
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
So when was the meeting about leaving AN for the other site.
And why wasn’t I invited to said meeting?
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Probably during a pie mob.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
There was plenty of talk in old lounges, not overt mind you, but it was there
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Hi, Cope!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
sup
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
The weather is weird.
Frozen this morning, then rain. then hit-n-miss sunshine/clouds/rain. Football game is boring. The puppy sleeps, then jumps up barking, then falls back asleep.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I've not really been around. Guess I missed it.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
It was discussed in the lounges.
And on FB and in RL, sure, but also in here.
Kyli - January 22, 2012
Touchdown!
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Did he go outta bounds?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Wow! That was close!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Fortunate bounces
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I was correcting kiddies.
What happened?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Fumble on the return and like 3 or 4 Pats touched it before the Ravens recovered.
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I'm a little sad that it's come to this.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
If Gronk is hurt that is bad news for the Pats
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
QUIT FUCKING LEAVING
Love, MO.
MissOakland - January 22, 2012 via mobile
I luv you tuu, MO♥
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Always. [prettyheart]
MissOakland - January 22, 2012 via mobile
How is school?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
hi MO
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Copes
MissOakland - January 22, 2012 via mobile
Copes
MissOakland - January 22, 2012 via mobile
hi, hi
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
If that stands, wow
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
What a play!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
FUCK
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
LadyJ is happy:)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Having to root for them in the Super Bowl is going to be so fucking painful for me
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I have to cheer all old AFL teams.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
What little interest I had in the late game is gone for me now
I might go kill dragons
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I have to watch to see if Biden is correct.
Will the SF Giants beat the SF ’49ers? :)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I would love to see that football game.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
It'll be more painful when the 49ers beat them.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Shanked it!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Cut the kicker. With a knife.
The fucking Patriots, ruining my Sunday again.
OldhamA - January 22, 2012
Smith to Davis: the new Young to Rice.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Hi, ozz!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Hey Tuu!
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Are you enjoying the game?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Yes, actually.
I’d be enjoying it more if Alex Smith could complete a few more passes.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Oh, and it'd be nice if someone would stop Victor Cruz.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Doesn't look like THAT is going to happen.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Nope, he's open every damn play.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Woe.
Burger King got rid of chicken fries.
I am bereft. :(
Kyli - January 22, 2012
Never had them, but they sound good.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
They were super tasty.
And were packaged in a box that is designed to fit in a cupholder. With a slot in the lid for your sauce.
Thus, making my commute hella more delicious.
Kyli - January 22, 2012
You need to try retirement.
The commute is from the kitchen to the sofa. ;)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I would if I could. :(
Kyli - January 22, 2012
That sounds like a great way to make me even fatter.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
It is excellent at that.
Kyli - January 22, 2012
Was.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
WHY ARE ALL THE FAT PEOPLE GETTING SKINNY?!?
I am too fucking stressed right now to diet and get hawt with the rest of you turd hammers.
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
Who said anything about getting skinny?
I just meant that the fattening chicken is gone. Although I did work out the other day. I’m still sore, so I must have done something right.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Or terribly, terribly wrong.....
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
No, it doesn't hurt THAT bad.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I'm staying fat!
With my knees the way they are, exercise is almost impossible. After the replacements, I plan on losing about 40lbs.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I plan on losing about 300 pounds, but I suck at planning.
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
At 52, I have to lower my expectations. :)
40 puts me around 194, which at 5-10, is still 10lbs high for my age
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
HI. Jennifer!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
HI!
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
Don't feel too bad
If you ever need a confidence boost, I’ll come over and make you feel good about yourself ;)
darooster - January 23, 2012
are those the chicken strip thingies?
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
We still have them. Want me to FedEx some?
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
YES. PLEASE GOD YES.
Kyli - January 23, 2012
VERNON DAVIS! FUCK YEAH!!!!
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I think I've got a new sig...
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I turned on the game and that happened, quickly turned it off and turned on
Olympic qualifying for the women’s national team
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Afraid you'll be good luck for the 49ers?
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
If I have to watch the Pats and the Niners or Giants win today I might cut myself
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Well, I'm pretty sure the Niners or Giants will win today.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
ANd they are BOTH from SF!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Fuck the Giants.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
REC'D!
( oh! THAT feels so GOOD!)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
haha!
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I had SOOO much fun on that post in early Dec. :)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Yeah, I could tell.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Was it that obvious? :)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Only to me.
You actually hid it well.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
You know what else would make this game better?
If they’d stop advertising American Idol.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
You have that right.
What a shlock show! Just the ads make me want to puke.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I used to respect Steven Tyler.
Then he decided that he wanted to be a side-show freak like Gene Simmons.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Wow, the 49ers defense is really turning it up in the 2nd half.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
The parental units are celebrating their 60th anniversary tonight!
WOOHOO! We are babysitting their great grandson, whom they adopted. I’m so proud of them!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Wow, that's amazing!
Congratulations to them.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Thanks, ozz:)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
My in-laws celebrated their 60th in 2011
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
You and Mrs. Late have the bar set high.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
No kidding!
I just hope she doesn’t cut me while I sleep. We will be at 28 years this July. 60 seems a long ways off.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
28 years, that's nothing to sneeze at.
We just reached 2 years last October.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Congrats!
The first 5 are the toughest. It just takes a lot of giving and understanding by both people.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
We've had our ups and downs.
But we dated for 11 years before getting married, and lived together for almost 9 years.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
They finally stopped CRUZ!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Yeah, they're actually covering him.
Now if only Alex Smith could complete a pass. I think they gave up on the run in the 4th quarter for some reason. I don’t know why, Gore has been pretty effective. He hasn’t busted out any huge runs, but he’s been pretty consistently gaining 4-5 yards per carry.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
They just went 4-and-out.
Not very good clock management.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
sorry, 3-and-out
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
That was horrible.
Terrible pass protection.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Why not run?
eat up the clock.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
They needed to move the ball 40 yards in less than 2 minutes.
So I don’t blame them for calling passes. But they need to protect Smith.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Cruz almost made a miraculous catch! WOW!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
And he was even covered!
He’s really damn good.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I think a screen pass to Gore is a good idea right about now.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Today we had one of the weird cases ever. I can't even describe how nuts it was.
Nothing serious, just very, very weird. They started an IV in his foot, which is one of my favoritest things ever to watch.
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
That is pretty unusual, right?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Well, it depends.
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
We seen it a lot in our babies.
Just sounded odd for an adult
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I've seen an IV started in a kid's head. It wasn't pretty.
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
ugh! that must have been tough to see
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
in his foot? so odd
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Hey, Jennifer, my Dr said I've worn the end of my left femur flat.
And the right knee joint sounds like its full of gravel. No meniscus, and no slick covering left in either knee. He laughed when I asked him what my options are.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Rub some dirt on it.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
hehehe
That would be the A’s medical staff’s therapy
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Only if walking it off doesn't work.
They’re thorough.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
LOL
Jennifer - January 22, 2012
FUCK YOU, KYLE WILLIAMS.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
TWITTER STOP SUCKING
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Wow! Biden was right! :)
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Kyle Williams blew it, but so did Harbaugh.
Why did he stop running the ball? Gore was having a really good game, and Harbaugh suddenly decided to throw on every play. Stupid.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Thats what didn't make sense when they went 3&out in the 4th quarter.
Run the ball!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
It's not as if they have Frank Gore or anything.
I mean, when you only average 5.4 yds./carry as a team, and you’re completing less than half your passes, throwing the ball is definitely the way to go.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Especially when you only need to get into FG range
2 minutes should have been plenty of time.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
And 3 timeouts.
And knowing that the Giants would drop 7 men, if you want to throw, surely Vernon Davis could’ve gotten open underneath.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Fuck that.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I see there is no animation domination, what the fuck
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Jessica Biel is kinda pretty.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I didn't used to think so, but she's grown on me.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Same here. Thats why I am just now noticing her.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
She's developing into a cheerleader.
Still not a big fan of her acting, though.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
And I mean,
DEVELOPING!
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Srsly.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I still don't get the developing bit
What does it all mean
darooster - January 23, 2012
We're trying to corner the market on women just as they reach legal age.
ozzman99 - January 23, 2012
Ah
Good plan, I am behind it
darooster - January 23, 2012
The new "undervalued" prospects. :)
Tutu-late - January 23, 2012
No idea what she looks like now
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I'm watching her in "Stealth"
I’ve never seen the movie before.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
Funny story. True story.
The food bank where Ozzwife works bought their facility in part with a donation from Stealth Concealment Services. What an awesome name! They must be a defense contractor. There’s a company here that makes armored vehicles that are nearly impervious to roadside bombs, maybe they’re involved in that…
… no, they build cell towers that are disguised as trees.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
They don't make secret bras?
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
No, that's Stealth Support Services.
Or SSS.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
There's a reason you haven't seen it before
It blows
darooster - January 23, 2012
here
Try this
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
She looks like a less attractive version of Banks
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I was think more along the lines of a brunette Sharon Stone
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
That actually isn't one of her better photos.
It was just one with more clothes on.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012
I'm seriously pissed right now.
I would much rather have lost to the Packers or Saints.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I saw "Our Idiot Brother" last night.
I liked it. It wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be very Judd Apatow-ish, but it wasn’t. It had a more indie feel to it, if that makes sense. Good movie.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
I really liked it
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
It was really funny.
And watching Zoey and Rashida kiss was nice. It made me feel all warm inside.
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
Ok, headed to bed I think.
Don’t know if I can fall asleep, as pissed as I am. Have a good night!
ozzman99 - January 22, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
Goodnight, ozz.
I’m outta here tuu. My knees hurt like hell, so I’m going to take a vicodin and cry myself to sleep.
Tutu-late - January 22, 2012

Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
I've had fun Lounging tonight, with you guys and Kyli, and Jennifer.

gigglingone - January 22, 2012

ChickenStanley - January 22, 2012
very very bumpy
gigglingone - January 22, 2012
oh wow
ChickenStanley - January 22, 2012
was your head rest padded?
Copenhagen - January 22, 2012
no, but I had it protected well.
I had sharp shooting pains in my stitches last night, but I seemed to have recovered for now. We’ll see if they come back tomorrow….
gigglingone - January 22, 2012
ow :/
ChickenStanley - January 22, 2012

Copenhagen - January 22, 2012

ChickenStanley - January 22, 2012

Copenhagen - January 22, 2012

ChickenStanley - January 22, 2012

Copenhagen - January 22, 2012

Some of my friends talk smack about Reno, but I love it. All night drinking and gambling? Where do I sign up?
darooster - January 23, 2012
*yawn*

Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
So I have a stupid hockey question...
If a Canadian team wins the Stanley Cup, would they visit the Canadian Prime Minister instead of the White House?
YonYonson - January 23, 2012
Probably, I'll ask on FTF
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
Yes seems to be the case
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
Thanks
It made me wonder, after reading the Tim Thomas/POTUS snub.
YonYonson - January 23, 2012
This happens at least once a year with the various championship teams that go
there yet still makes big news
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
ugh
the good thing about the jar of spaghetti sauce getting knocked over, spilling on myself, and then splattering on the floor? I didn’t need to use the towels to clean it up…..my shirt, on the other hand, is in the washing machine now……
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
heh
should have taken pics of a fake crime scene.
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
I did spill some of the parmesan cheese too.....
I did have a serious thought of just throwing the noodles on the floor, and then grabbing a fork and a bottle of wine.
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
That would make a cool de-motivation poster
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
how did all this happen???
Berry Jo - January 23, 2012
I am very tired.
I should not attempt to cook dinner when tired.
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
ah ha...or not cook with red sauces and pasta...
Berry Jo - January 23, 2012
Tailgating notwithstanding is FanFest worth it at all if
you don’t give a shit about autographs.
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
I can't remember
in the years before they got rid of it, it was kind of lame.
YonYonson - January 23, 2012
I'm just going to the tailgate....don't really care about all the rest of it.
Berry Jo - January 23, 2012
The panel discussions are usually fun
The last year they had it, the Q & A was dominated by teenage girls asking Bobby Crosby to go out with them and adult fans of both sexes asking Bobby Crosby why he was such a lousy baseball player. But other than that I found them worthwhile,.
Englishmajor - January 23, 2012
this is true....
Berry Jo - January 23, 2012
I dunno if I could survive that kind of questioning without causing harm to myself
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
And how can you pass up on the chance to have a one-on-one chat with Lew Wolff?
Englishmajor - January 23, 2012
easily!!! ;-)
Berry Jo - January 23, 2012
I'd end up asking him Earthquake questions
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
I soooooooo want to be there for that one
if I were able to go, I’d have a big list of questions for him, starting first with why he hates loyal A’s fans.
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
So, my sister teaches high school, and she is grading notebooks this evening.....
I suggested she respond with a post-it note referencing the Webster’s Dictionary definition of both…..
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
lol

Long time....
Berry Jo - January 23, 2012
Whoa! Hi, Jo!! Yes, long time indeed.
So glad you’re here. I’ve got a story for you.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
This whole exchange with a little girl, who five months ago, couldn’t say hello to me.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
This is a terrific story
Englishmajor - January 23, 2012 via mobile
EM!
Thanks. Glad you think so. Gladder still to see you here.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Just wanted to say that this is really excellent, hh
(also, good storytelling)
UrgentMirth - January 24, 2012
is that our starting lineup?
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Sure, fat English guys would be quite undervalued.
Hullo, dear gigs!
I hope the weekend was lovely.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
yes, a fantastic time was had by all
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Good good.
Very well deserved.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
ooh a baby bot
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
Hey Cope.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
So seriously, I'm only one who saw that movie?
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012

Berry Jo - January 23, 2012

gigglingone - January 23, 2012
night
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012
Gah, I should've typed the story before starting dinner!
Pleasant dreams, Berry Jo.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
HI!
attijah - January 23, 2012
Boy, are you a sight for sore eyes!
How are you, atti?!
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Fair to middlin'. How about you?
attijah - January 23, 2012
I've been worse.
Certainly been better. Can’t seem to recall when that was though.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Aww. Sorry to hear it. Need to talk?
I had a bright spot today- my local Grocery Outlet had a bag of 16 chik patties for $8. Woo hoo!
attijah - January 23, 2012
Hurray for savings.
You know bots aren’t talkers. Besides I don’t think I could pinpoint one source. More a combination of variety of things. State of things here being one them.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
So was it decided how this place should be run?
attijah - January 23, 2012
and did it require me being kicked out?
attijah - January 23, 2012
That, it would seem, is entirely up to you.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
uh oh.
attijah - January 23, 2012
Yeah, who wants to make decisions?
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Yes, though not by popular opinion.
As is clear by the date on the Lounge.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Can you give me a quick synopsis? I'm too tired to read it tonight.
attijah - January 23, 2012
I would.
Except it is now against the rules to discuss differences of opinions and unsavory events from the past. Particularly those that are critical of management.
As outlined here.
Reactions here.
You could consult lounge friends who are also your facebook friends. I came late to this as well. Besides which, I …. am not the best source of information when it comes to the inner workings of the lounge.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Sigh
The bloodletting has been swift and vicious. We lost a lot of good ANers…
darooster - January 23, 2012
Oh no.
attijah - January 23, 2012
It's not even so much the number of ANers
But some of the ones we lost. There were some familiar friendly faces who defected, it sucks…. :-/
darooster - January 23, 2012
I don't do facebook but thanks. I'm trying to skim it now.
Did anyone bookmark the posts that mention me? It would save me lots of time.
attijah - January 23, 2012
Er...this was more a collective revolt. No individual names for the most part.
I’m no facebooker either.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012

Copenhagen - January 23, 2012

Or would you prefer John, Lord Marbury, Earl of Croy, Marquess of Needham and Dolby, Baronet of Brycey, England’s ambassador to the United States, and a terrorist is a terrorist even if he wears a green necktie and sings “Danny Boy”.

harensheir15 - January 23, 2012

gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Yes, ma'm.
As you say, ma’m.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012

gigglingone - January 23, 2012
If I could find decent strawberries at this hour, I would.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Strawberry daiquiris are the closest humankind has gotten to perfection.
Kyli - January 23, 2012
Man the Warriors suck but I called the choke job in the first.
Copenhagen - January 23, 2012

harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
So far it seems we're not good enough any more and AN wants to see other posters.
attijah - January 23, 2012
More. Not other.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Okay, AN wants an open blog.
attijah - January 23, 2012
Ironic, isn't it?

I'm eating the Dark Chocolate Gelato right now
I’m down to this and one other pint before I completely run out…..I like to have choices though, and usually four or more……
gigglingone - January 23, 2012

It’s Saturday night, which I can’t go to. SO BUMMED!!!!
There’s some good stuff later on in the schedule though….I might be hitting the Rush Tickets a few times this spring. :)
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
{sigh}
I’ve been going through my spending cash like it’s that strawberry granita.
I love being back in school. But I’d be lying if I said I don’t miss having a little extra in my pockets.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
totally understand
I keep my eye on the goldstar deals, which sometimes are as low as $10, but I usually end up sitting at home listening to music on my computer…..
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Truth.
The Bay Area has spoiled us rotten. There is so much awesome here.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
I almost got tickets to Carmen for Thanksgiving Eve.
Wimped out in the end.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
Doh!!!
That was the night I went!!! Got my ticket for half price, ended up with this old dude falling asleep on my shoulder midway through the second act. Loved Carmen though, it was wonderful.
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Heh.
Not the company you’d like for Carmen, eh?
It really is great. I have not seen it performed live yet.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
did you see teh 2012-2013 schedule yet?!?!?!
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Yes!!!
Tosca! YESYESYESYESYES.
And there is no way I am missing Secret Garden.
I don’t care if I have to sell my bike.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
zomg, I totally want to see Tosca!
the student/teacher discount is an awesome thing. just sayin’….
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Oh, thank goddess for it.
It would be out of the question otherwise.
If I don’t make it, I give you permission to slap me silly.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
if I see any super duper discount deals, I'll let you know
gigglingone - January 23, 2012

gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Ah.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012

Copenhagen - January 23, 2012

lynnzgal - January 23, 2012
hiya cutie!
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
hi love.
lynnzgal - January 23, 2012
I was looking through old photos today, found one of the two of us at a game together
dang we’re cute. :)
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Yes!
We are. I did that, too. Your birthday picture with us was especially cute.
lynnzgal - January 23, 2012
is that the one with my bra showing?
I really should learn just not to wear one…..
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
Haha!
I think it was my bra, but who can tell?
lynnzgal - January 23, 2012
we should just take off our bras and put them on the table next time.
stupid things are uncomfortable anyways
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
No shit.
As much as I try to be a lady, and keep mine on, off it goes after half an hour.
lynnzgal - January 23, 2012
I got stuck at the train tracks tonight on my way home
took it off in the car while waiting for the train to go by. might have gotten some strange looks from the neighbors once I got home and walked in carrying my purse in one hand and bra in the other.
gigglingone - January 23, 2012
I'm sorry, what was I just saying?
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012
I love you!
lynnzgal - January 23, 2012
I know that I should find this subthread to my liking and I do.
But it makes the absences ring out louder.
harensheir15 - January 23, 2012

It’s always darkest before the dawn
