It like wraps around the sides of his chin. Probably because he can’t grow enough facial hair in the front. Brett, if you can’t grow enough facial hair for your goatee to be normal shaped, you probably shouldn’t have one at all.

Anderson left runners at the corners after allowing one. The two that scored were his responsibility. The fact that a fielder’s choice changed who was physically at 1B doesn’t matter.
the third run was scored by Maier, who reached on a fielder’s choice, but he batted against Wuertz. Maybe it’s because he only reached by wiping out the baserunner that Anderson allowed?
I asked about Geren’s decision to start Suzuki rather than backup Landon Powell and he noted that Suzuki had been off Thursday and he got one inning off Saturday night. He said Suzuki probably won’t play Wednesday in Baltimore, either, giving him back-to-back days off with Thursday’s offday.
But he’s turning 30 real soon, and this is his best season so far. Translation: Cunningham or Buck will almost certainly be better than Hairston by 2011 – if they are given the chance.
MOJO!

Is there a Bay Area rep this season?
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
if only Randy Jackson's name were bigger
stormtown - August 9, 2009
Holland has only given up a walk through 4 IP against the slegnA
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
ZigFan likes it.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
I do!
ZigFan31 - August 9, 2009
Hi, ZigFan!
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Hey cutie.
ZigFan31 - August 9, 2009
Aw, you’re so sweet.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Let's go Oakland!
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
Finish him off.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
whew.
brian.only - August 9, 2009
yeah
worldblee - August 9, 2009
Oh wow
That ball was smashed. Luckily, foul.
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
Alright.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Ziggy does his job
worldblee - August 9, 2009
Add on, please
doctorK - August 9, 2009
YA MOAR RUNZ PLZ!III
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
As we wish
doctorK - August 9, 2009
Thank you, Booby!
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
Wow -- just 37 pitches for Holland through 4 IP.
Nico - August 9, 2009
Yeah, that is ridic.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Am I the only one...
who loves this current version of this team and feels like we can win with this team in a year or two?
xMattex - August 9, 2009
especially once Wallace, Cardenas, Weeks, et all come up
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Lets hope.
It will be fun to watch.
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Woah!
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
Two boobies!
stormtown - August 9, 2009
What could be better?
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
That's how I like 'em - in pairs
doctorK - August 9, 2009
A matching pair
worldblee - August 9, 2009
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
Best picture EVER!!!
adragon - August 9, 2009
May I adopt those
and Bobby too?
stormtown - August 9, 2009
Holy Toledo!
Croz x2
worldblee - August 9, 2009
This is definitely out of the Twilight Zone
Flashfire - August 9, 2009
OK...That's it. Apocalypse is upon us.
I’m going out to take my raptured neighbors’ cars!
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
Holy Cr_p!
BoCro!?!
brian.only - August 9, 2009
it IS the apocalypse!
OakA'sHoney - August 9, 2009
Crosby looking like Babe Ruth out there
jdub69 - August 9, 2009
quick, trade him to Red Sox while he's looking like a real SS!
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Who is this "Bobby Crosby" character?
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Booby agian!!!
and opo this time
adragon - August 9, 2009
Wow
Crosby almost plunked the ball into the fountain
6-3!
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
Wow, Crosby hit another homer...
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Crosby has been beatin 'em up
Like Bing Crosby.
Hit4TheCycle - August 9, 2009
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
just beat 'em with a sack of sweet Valencia oranges
it shows ‘em who’s boss and doesn’t leave a mark!
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Wtf?
The Bobby Crosby I know is…well…idk…this isn’t him.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Kennedy's havin' a hell of an at-bat here.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Nice battle!
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Outside.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Holland tears through the 5th on 7 pitches
5 IP, 1 BB, 2 K 45 pitches
that’s it
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Very nice
adragon - August 9, 2009
Can we keep him?
Huh? HUH?
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
red sox need a SS, let them have crosby
Asfan4ever723 - August 9, 2009
for the low low price of the white Chris Carter!
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Lars Anderson?
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
He did NOT just say that.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
I actually think we should keep Crosby...
I feel the bludgeons of this room comin’…
xMattex - August 9, 2009
we'd have to sign him since he'll be a FA next year
not worth it when we could re-up Kennedy instead
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Very true.
Idk if AK wants to stay though.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
I would not mind if we signed him to a 1 year 1.5 mil contract
He has made himself into a helpfull UTL player
adragon - August 9, 2009
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nico - August 9, 2009
YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Wow.
I love that.
Philip Christy - August 9, 2009
If it was either AK or Booby
AK all the way
adragon - August 9, 2009
Okay, you win.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
I'm sayin'
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
After all the complaining he has done about playing time I'd be shocked if he wanted to come back...
winchester5 - August 9, 2009
Good point.
He has complained a lot, but he’s gotten plenty of time as of late, and he’s actually contributing.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
'Crowd an exaggeration'
Must make them feel at home. ;)
brian.only - August 9, 2009
omg what happened to dallas braden's haiir??
OakA'sHoney - August 9, 2009
A hurricane blew threw it.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
It gone.
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
mistake
OakA'sHoney - August 9, 2009
Well, its a hard choice with him.
When it gets too long it looks pretty crazy, too.
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
it's better wild
OakA'sHoney - August 9, 2009
Well, damn.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Aw.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Nice job, Rajai.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Let’s raise that .146 batting average, Aaron.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Hell yeah. I like this kid though.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Me too. He's produced consistantly at every level in the minors.
Time to give him a full-time job in the bigs! Who needs Scott Hairston.
Philip Christy - August 9, 2009
I disagree there.
Hairston’s consistent too.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Maybe
But he’s turning 30 real soon, and this is his best season so far. Translation: Cunningham or Buck will almost certainly be better than Hairston by 2011 – if they are given the chance.
Philip Christy - August 9, 2009
agree
winchester5 - August 9, 2009
I STILL don't like Buck.
The injury history.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Hairston has been consistently, well, not good with us.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
He’s been satisfactory, I’ll give him until next season.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
So much for that...
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Ha ha Tintin
He does look like Tintin.
Philip Christy - August 9, 2009
Hahahaaha.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Hell of a steal, AK.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Bailey time
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
Way out in the woods!
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Esteban German is playing for the Rangers today
just did his best Rajai impression
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
4 HR & 4 steals
who do we think we are the Rays?
me likey
adragon - August 9, 2009
And we just gave them
Springercooties too!brian.only - August 9, 2009
It’s the least we could do after they gave us Adam Kennedy for Joe Dillon.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
As Iwamura crumples a week later!
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Just think, they DFA'd Dillon
Orodawg - August 9, 2009
I somehow missed that.
So long Russ! Bad dog!
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
ewww!!!!
adragon - August 9, 2009
I actually do think next year..
We’ll be the next Rays.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Fine with me. They can keep their stadium, however.
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
I hate that damn hot air balloon Tampa plays in.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
The Devil A's?
worldblee - August 9, 2009
Better that the Jose's
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Lmao.
Devil A’s.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Of course this team would be doing a lot better....
…if we had scheduled all 162 games against the Royals.
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
I’ll settle for 81 games with the Royals, 60 games with the Pirates and 21 games with the Nationals.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Only in a perfect world..
xMattex - August 9, 2009
yay strickout
doctorK - August 9, 2009
Maier
The poor man’s Mauer?
Hit4TheCycle - August 9, 2009
He’s a poor man’s Willie Bloomquist without the defensive versatility.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
I see.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Bailey is dealing
adragon - August 9, 2009
97 mph.
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Ring him up, blue
doctorK - August 9, 2009
They should make Baileys Dibs
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
Would they be HD Bailey's Mini-Sirloin Dibs?
They could advertise them with Padma licking them off of her own ankles.
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
sold at the Kinder's BBQ stall
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Can someone explain to me..
Why we’ve had 745824578423957 closers the last 2 years?
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Closers are overvalued.
Our other ones (that we haven’t traded) have been injured, non-closer-esque, or just called up to the bigs.
Story of the A’s
Orodawg - August 9, 2009
It's just confusing..
Seeing Joey Devine, Brad Ziegler, Huston Street and Andrew Bailey all take turns the last season and a half.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
With
in the bull pen it bodes well for our future.adragon - August 9, 2009
Well, I'm talking about 2008-2009 altogether.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
And fk Huston Street for having 29 saves in Colorado.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Finish him off.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Victory!
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
sweet!
OakA'sHoney - August 9, 2009
VICTORY
doctorK - August 9, 2009
Game!!!!
brian.only - August 9, 2009
WE WIN!
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
No incident 9th inning
Hit4TheCycle - August 9, 2009
I don't care if it's KC
Winning a series is NICE.
worldblee - August 9, 2009
You act like we didn't beat Boston or Texas the last two weeks.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Oh, they were even nicer
But this is still nice.
worldblee - August 9, 2009
Now on to...
BALTIMORE?
xMattex - August 9, 2009
It’s our first and only trip to Camden Yards.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Yes, yes it is.
There will probably be more A’s fans than O’s fans in Maryland too.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
YAY!!!!
That’s the Ball Game!!!
adragon - August 9, 2009
It was actually his seventh win of the year, Glen.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
I caught that too
adragon - August 9, 2009
brian.only - August 9, 2009
Wheres Queso?
brian.only - August 9, 2009
I’ll do my best.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Lovely!
lynnzgal - August 9, 2009
Wow, Crosby is hitting .300 in his last 23 games.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
He hit over 300 for July too.
brian.only - August 9, 2009
But the whole bad defense + literally not walking at all thing just doesn't do it for me.
lenscrafters - August 9, 2009
Oh hey, Crosby
.300 avg. last 23 games
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
Memo to opposing pitchers:
Slider. Low and away.
That is all.
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
There is another pitch.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Wow.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
The Mariners blog is amazing, you know.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
LMAO
brian.only - August 9, 2009
I found this even funnier.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
trade him to the Sox, stat!
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
That's a scary thought.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Would it be terrible if he actually started performing?
brian.only - August 9, 2009
well, since he's probably already cleared waivers, we might be able to trade him for something if he keeps it up
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
without even checking, I bet I can watch the epic
Yankees – Redsox game later this afternoon……i suspect it will be on tv….just a hunch.
Tough year on Crosby……(breaks out violin)
ak_A - August 9, 2009
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Uh, that's not a violin
That’s a cello.
worldblee - August 9, 2009
That's ok...
BoCro isn’t really a major-league SS, either.
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
you were setting the cultured people up.
ak_A - August 9, 2009
Indy-League?
Orodawg - August 9, 2009
Okay, I’m in the clear, then.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
Will this do?
Electric Slugger
SwisherThresher - August 9, 2009
good grief
ak_A - August 9, 2009
Hells yeah
worldblee - August 9, 2009
That's cool, but my guess is it's corked!
GreenNGoldSooner - August 9, 2009
Harsh, harsh.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
We just won two consecutive series?
(checks pulse, sits down)
brian.only - August 9, 2009
It's ok.
Just remind yourself of 2006.
xMattex - August 9, 2009
Izturis breaks up Holland's no hitter
jerk
cityplANner - August 9, 2009
Ass
Orodawg - August 9, 2009
Poor baby. That sucks.
ZigFan31 - August 9, 2009
How about this
WAS has won 8 in a row
adragon - August 9, 2009
Wow.
Rated-R Superstar - August 9, 2009
o_O
Orodawg - August 9, 2009
GAME RECAP IS UP
