b. The A’s don’t win it in the 10th but exactly tie it AND
c. Suzuki gets so injured he has to leave the game AND
d. The game doesn’t end in the 11th
then Powell takes over as catcher and ZOMG the pitcher might have to bat, or be pinch hit for by Cunningham, in the 12th or 13th. So effing what?
I'm guessing the A's have an agreement with Nomar not to cut him
Which I don’t terribly mind if it gives Beane a good reputation among veteran players around the league. It just doesn’t mean he has to bat in these situations over Powell.
First he wanted to go to Ziegler but was told Ziggy wasn't ready
(he even instructed Suzuki to go out and talk to Anderson to stall, but then had to leave Anderson in to give up a key hit). Then he yanked Bailey when he didn’t need to and put in Breslow to face Alexei Ramierz — oops — instead of waiting a hitter or two to make the change. Then he decided that Nomar was a better bet than Landon Powell against Bobby Jenks. Bad day all around and all very costly blunders.
also, being pathetically desperate in a foreign language was on my bucket list. so I can cross it off now. And I really need to stop making bucket lists when I’m chugging 40’s and smoking PCP whilst hanging off of the freeway overpass. But, I guess no one’s perfect..

b. The A’s don’t win it in the 10th but exactly tie it AND
c. Suzuki gets so injured he has to leave the game AND
d. The game doesn’t end in the 11th
then Powell takes over as catcher and ZOMG the pitcher might have to bat, or be pinch hit for by Cunningham, in the 12th or 13th. So effing what?

Then he decided that Nomar was a better bet than Landon Powell against Bobby Jenks. Bad day all around and all very costly blunders.
