I have a friend in Arcata I visit every time I’m en route to Bay Area (which is typically once a year in December). Did a few summer festival gigs in Mendocino, too.
I live in the MW and it’s normally in the 100’s during July with no rain. This year it’s been in the 80’s and it rains about every 2-3 days. Quite a nice summer.

Nothing fancy, just the basics. Basil, salt, pignoli, olive oil.
2 cups basil leaves
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup olive oil
3 tbsp pine nuts
salt to taste (about 1 tsp)?
Put in food processor and blend.
Then, add 2 tbsp room-temp butter, 1/2 cup grated parmesan, 2-3 tbsp grated pecorino romano.

If you’re using salted butter (which you shouldn’t, but sometimes it’s all you’ve got) adjust the salt in the recipe.
