Dang the Rays announcers may be more annoying than Fosse.
They watch the replays like 24 times a piece from 8 different angles finally concluding it was a terrible call. If you have to slow it down frame by frame and watch it more than once you can’t blame the ump.
He has outperformed Cunningham and Denorfia at the MLB level and Buck hasn’t been able to stay healthy in previous years despite a great 2007. This year, though, I guess Buck did something to rub someone the wrong way.
Let’s say Halladay starts the game and pitches two innings. Greinke, Verlander, Jackson and Beckett all throw one inning afterwards. That’s six innings. Another couple of starters eat up an inning and then there’s a few innings left with Rivera, Nathan and Papelbon available.
He hopefully didn’t do anything to bad, just felt a tweak in his back and seeing as he is a large part of the future and the A’s aren’t winning anything this season they decided to get him out of there.
Geren has been very protective of the young SP’s this season so I’m hoping this was just him being hyper-cautious.
He might not feel that terrible, might be just a little tug
Hopefully, the A’s are just being very, very cautious with him. It would be very easy for a “little tug” to turn into a change in his pitching motion that screws up his arm.
And like I said, being young helps but it doesn’t make you immune. He could have slept funny last night, or had a problem with all the flying this road trip.
