I hate special effects where they

speed up and slow down the action for no apparent reason other than it looks cool. Since Matrix is the movie that started that annoying trend, I assumed I’d hate it.

But recently a good friend, who understands my taste in movies, says that he thinks I’d still enjoy it for the story even in spite of the special effects. So now it’s on my list to watch some day. Not sure when I’ll get around to it, though.

Just make sure you don't watch 2 and 3.

Oh and slow down effects are awesome – like in Swordfish when the ball bearing bomb goes off and the camera pans 360.

So I live out in West Covina, where Jason Giambi was born..and there’s a tribute stadium up “Giambi Way” about 4 miles from my house.

Last week, after I finally recovered from my shin splints, I promised myself that I’d run out there every time Giambi hit a homer—he’s hit three since. Do you guys think I keep going? Haha!

I was also thinking of emailing that story to Jason, what do you guys think of that?
