of an office christmas party. You know the kind where the DJ is playing and almost everyone has left and the only people still around are the bosses, a few who are trying to sober up, and the ones making out in the corner.
Keeps a couple of guys employed in a horrible job market.
You can be really bad at baseball and keep that dream of playing in the bigs because of teams like the A’s. A’s motto should be “Keeping the dream alive for crappy baseball players since 2007” lol
I had bananas and blow running through my head all night. I couldn’t sleep and it was the first thing I fired up on the MP3 player on the way to work today.
My gf's a/c went out last night so she met the repairman
at her house over the lunch hour. She was really pressed for time today and when she got home they had a TV crew in her yard and they were interviewing the guy about how many a/c’s have went down due to the heat. When they asked her for an interview she said “can we get the repairman working on my a/c before we start an interview” and it was on the local news tonight. Funny to me :-)
It does normally feel much cooler when it rains. I have 5 trees that are 50 years old or more so my little nest is pretty comfortable. The bermuda starts taking over the fescue in spots this time of year, which sucks!
Huge crash with the TV. It pulled the cable out of the wall. Broke the TV but it still works. And by some miracle. I have it working again.
I have a DVR and I could not get it to work so by elimination, I unplugged the DVR and plugged the cable directly into the TV which was all fuzz on the screen. I plug in cable and I get ESPN etc so I know the cable is OK and the TV is OK. I plug the DVR back in and all I get is fuzz. I find a spare coax cable and replace the one that goes from the DVR to the TV. Bingo!!!! I now have fully working cable and TV and I get to watch the Lowlights of these POS. How lucky can I be?
And how lucky can I be to have a spare cable here because I throw every fucking thing out or misplace everything I don’t throw out.

I can bet you that the MRI hasn’t been done yet and they have talked him into rehabbing it. Not good but like I said earlier these are young pitchers and will do whatever they have to save their spot.
Gio might have been confused by Cabrera being late to cover
on the comebacker, but his job is to throw it over the bag and the middle infielder’s job is to be there. It’s pretty inexcusable for a pitcher to throw the ball away there when all he needs to do is throw the ball over the second base bag.
Even more, I honestly haven’t felt a pang of wanting to “see” the moment since Marco’s base-clearing double. It’ll come back I’m sure, just don’t know when.
Biggest jackass ever, but what is Carney talking about? Jose didn’t ruin anyone’s life! THE PLAYERS WHO TOOK STEROIDS MADE THAT CHOICE! Jose didn’t force anyone to do it; he simply ratted them out. It makes him a bad guy, sure, but doesn’t make them an innocent victim.

ohtobe21likehuston - June 24, 2009

overall
Errors didn’t help but the kid is not ready for ML’s IMO
Too much of a headcase. He loses his composure and he has not gotten any better in that department since last year. He does not have the makeup like the other rookies. His fastball is very hittable.

Nico - June 24, 2009
You're right.
Fosse even mentioned that he needs a 3rd pitch. They just sit fastball.
ohtobe21likehuston - June 24, 2009
It seems to me like his fastball often comes in to righties
right into their swing. If he had command of a more traditional tailing fastball it would help a lot. Well let’s face it – command of anything would be a nice start. He’s as wild in the strike zone as he is outside of it.
Nico - June 24, 2009
I wonder what will happen if he develops a great changeup?
ohtobe21likehuston - June 24, 2009
I know he's young
but I have never been impressed with his stuff. He has no control. Has that issue of composure we talked about above.
When he was up here last time he would have hitters foul off half a dozen or more pitches. I really don’t think he will ever be any good. At least not the ceiling the other 4 have.
I think he will end up being trade bait.
Trainman - June 24, 2009
he's pretty good in 100+ pitches relief appearances :-)
ohtobe21likehuston - June 24, 2009
I would once again like to thank The A's
for fucking up Josh Outman.
They knew he was hurting before his start and allowed him to go and what a shocker, he has a sprained ligament in his elbow.
Joey Devine anyone. They kept him pitching, rehabbing and pitching.
These clowns have no clue how to take precautions in keeping someone healthy
Trainman - June 24, 2009
Right or wrong
the roster is so thin that I believe it influences their ability to make the right decisions.
ohtobe21likehuston - June 24, 2009
Can attest to that
Look Outman admitted he pitched hurt even before this incident. This is the problem with “young pitchers”, they don’t want to lose their spot!! Its the coaching staffs fault on this cause as soon as outman was complaining they should’ve had the MRI done. I can bet you that the MRI hasn’t been done yet and they have talked him into rehabbing it. Not good but like I said earlier these are young pitchers and will do whatever they have to save their spot.

ohtobe21likehuston - June 24, 2009
Gio might have been confused by Cabrera being late to cover

Jose is a clown- plain and simple.
I’m happy for what he gave Oakland but he is not good at being a human being.

True.
But he wasn’t real good at it at the time, either.
Leopold Bloom - June 24, 2009
He was impressive to watch back in the day, and now, so sad to see him struggle thru life.
jdub69 - June 24, 2009
sad's the right word.
poor Jose. It’s almost like he has no life skills at all.
Leopold Bloom - June 24, 2009
But Jose is RIGHT
Biggest jackass ever, but what is Carney talking about? Jose didn’t ruin anyone’s life! THE PLAYERS WHO TOOK STEROIDS MADE THAT CHOICE! Jose didn’t force anyone to do it; he simply ratted them out. It makes him a bad guy, sure, but doesn’t make them an innocent victim.

Jose has a lot of issues regardless of this one quote

RECAP UP!
Wish it was more fun.
