I have pictures!
This was pretty cool; the oldest man in baseball, Emilio Navarro, at 103 years old, tossed out the first pitch at the stadium. He played in 1928 for the Cuban Stars.

Entrance to Petco Park

Tony Gwynn Drive (who was also one of the many Padre dads who threw out ceremonial first pitches on Sunday)

Petco Park love

Pretty Petco built right into downtown San Diego

Western Metal Supply Company

Bullpen walking out…to their folding chairs along the right field wall. Pretty scary.

Scary Friar

Friday Friarworks – not nearly as awesome as the Coliseum fireworks shows, but awesome against the backdrop of downtown San Diego

Won’t lie, we like to check in on AN even when traveling – this had me cracking up

AN peeps with the number of their respective road trip games

Still NMZ.
mikev - June 24, 2009
The Friar is not scary! He rocks!
Almost as much as his Dad on Sunday!
ZigFan31 - June 24, 2009
If I was an altar boy, he'd trouble my sleep.
Is his name Lester, by any chance?
The Dogfather - June 24, 2009
Awww...no. He's cute. Not scary at all.
For the record, I got my picture taken with him and he didn’t touch me inappropriately at all! But then again, I probably wasn’t his type.
ZigFan31 - June 24, 2009
Who has the time to have types?
67MARQUEZ - June 24, 2009
Hi.
I’m not sure what I should post here, but I am sure we’re all thinking the same thing aren’t we?
mikev - June 24, 2009
Not his type?
Do you mean “female” or “post-adolescent?”
The Dogfather - June 24, 2009
Whoa
A Dogfather and Poppy sighting on the same day. Within minutes even.
Nostalgia rules.
67MARQUEZ - June 24, 2009
Yes? What are the nostalgia rules?
Am I following them?
Nico - June 24, 2009
Always look to the rear.
Only rule you need.
67MARQUEZ - June 24, 2009
"Don't you dare."
The Dogfather - June 24, 2009
Uh oh.
Time for Poppy and TDF to head for Buenos Aires.
We’ll be on the lam… no b, …one l, …and one a.
The Dogfather - June 24, 2009
Also, how can they build a park like that without bullpens?
Stupid.
mikev - June 24, 2009
Oh they have a bullpen for the home team.
Just not the visitors.
pam5981 - June 24, 2009
That's fucked up.
mikev - June 24, 2009
well, they do have a sand pit in the outfield for the kids
I think they built that instead of a visitors pen.
gigglingone - June 24, 2009
Awesome pics!
Question about Emilio Navarro: Can he play 3B?
Nico - June 24, 2009
He actually can, Nico
And second or short if needed. Just not at the same time.
67MARQUEZ - June 24, 2009
Actually, his back is 103 years old
and he hasn’t played in a big league game for a long time. He may be Eric Chavez.
Nico - June 24, 2009
I can't keep up with these guys and their aliases.
67MARQUEZ - June 24, 2009
WOW! You guys make A's fans proud all over the world!
Coach Cleats - June 24, 2009
What fun!
Was that my empty seat next to you?
no, no, I know who was sitting there.
I missed you all.
How about August in Anaheim?
LongTimeFan - June 24, 2009

I think Anderson needs to change the grip on his fastball.
Nico - June 24, 2009
"Yes, that’s Tony Gwynn on the right"
When’s his due date?
Nick - June 24, 2009
And is that photographer still alive?
Nico - June 24, 2009
Like Tony could catch him.
OldhamA - June 24, 2009
No.
Tony ate him.
The Dogfather - June 24, 2009
