needs to get tossed arguing that call, that was the worst call of the year I’ve seen in any game this year, on the bases anyway.
Other than that , this offense is just the most epic, pathetic fail in human history, against Lincecum or against yer grandma, it doesn’t matter. We make every pitcher we face look dominant and there’s no way around the reality that if any of us did a worse job than some of these hitters at whatever we do, we would simply not have jobs, period.
Because that blue balls line is bullshit, too. Guys are always whining, “Oh, it’s such torture, it’s so unfair.” But seriously, you’re actually claiming that you wish you’d just stayed home and watched TV rather than spent two and a half hours making out? Bullshit.

3) What was the missed call that happened early in the game?

Mets seem like a perfect team to trade Holliday to,

Maybe if we throw in Crosby and Springer, they’ll part with Wright (and Reyes, for that matter, if we give them O-Cab)
Full meltdown by Stewart who looked at 2nd, double clutched and missed the runner by an inch then Figgins bunted and the pitche through too late to third.

That is not a good ump, Nico
I’m not letting it go, not only was the transfer a joke the player was a yard off the bag.
How much for that call? $1,000?
Or is it drugs?

ohtobe21likehuston - June 23, 2009
We could have a Lincecum complete game

That’s got to be close to some sort of record
bobnothing - June 23, 2009
Of course we will.
It’s the Giants, they’re going to wreck the shit out of Lincecum by the time he’s 27.
mikev - June 23, 2009
well, he's only on 98 pitches tonight

I would rather just get owned
micdog2001 - June 23, 2009
yeah I agree

ohtobe21likehuston - June 23, 2009

So this is clearly the baseball version of blue balls
ohtobe21likehuston - June 23, 2009
that's why I hate this game

true "blue balls" happen if you go further than making out
micdog2001 - June 23, 2009

iglew - June 23, 2009
it depends what's on TV

el campysino - June 23, 2009
I like CarGon; I hope he does well.
Nico - June 23, 2009

It makes other teams think we are better to deal with, if nothing else right?
Its a sunk cost to hope they fail.
ChadGod - June 23, 2009
I didn't say it was good news.
el campysino - June 23, 2009
I don't care.
I still want him back.

ohtobe21likehuston - June 23, 2009
Which, ironically, is closed on holidays.

el campysino - June 23, 2009
A few thoughts
1) We should probably bench Cust against Lincecum in the future. I know that sounds stupid, but Cust is truly over-matched by Lincecum and besides if in future games we ever get Lincecum out of the game we could pinch hit Cust in a high-leverage situation should one be available.
2) That inning by Casilla looked really good on gameday. Great pitch location and serious velocity. I think he is coming out of it.
3) What was the missed call that happened early in the game?
ChadGod - June 23, 2009
The runner was safe at second and he was called out.
Rated-R Superstar - June 23, 2009
Regarding Number 1
It’s weird that you think that Cust will strike out every single time against Liksumcum going forward.

No, I like them.
I hate the Giants.

Foss, I do not admire Lincecum's performance
cuppingmaster - June 23, 2009
OH SHUT UP
“Lincecum pitched a great game”
He DID, but that’s not the point. The A"s offense FAILED for him to look great. He should have been out in the sixth.

I like you more when you're angry.
….what does that say about me?
Leopold Bloom - June 23, 2009
my thoughts exactly

Maybe there's a recap theme there:
A’s do the seemingly impossible: make Lincecum look better than he is.
el campysino - June 23, 2009
Just another game where you have to tip your cap.
and not berate your fucking players for sucking ass and not doing shit aside from sending the opposition gifts by grounding into double plays OVER AND FUCKING OVER AGAIN

the A’s had no chance against Lincecum… probably a good thing there won’t be a 20-year reprise of the 1989 World Series. We’d lose.
FoolshGame22 - June 23, 2009
The A's are about 2 hitters away from having a chance against him
micdog2001 - June 23, 2009
No chance?
We had a tone of base runners.
Syphon - June 23, 2009
I don't like your ton there.

FoolshGame22 - June 23, 2009
Oh, haven't you heard?
Chavy’s hoping to be back ready for Opening Day, 2010.
Nico - June 23, 2009
"microdiscectomy" sounds 10X more painful if you misread it.
Kallus - June 23, 2009
Oh yeah - I read it as
“microspleenexplodomy.”
Nico - June 23, 2009
A's trade Holliday for a 3B propect...
at the deadline. Chavvy never plays another game for the A’s. Book it.
FoolshGame22 - June 23, 2009
God I hope you're right.
Not that I can see who that would be, given who will want Holliday and who has a 3Bman, but…ok!
Nico - June 23, 2009
Mets or Cards, if Foolsh is clairvoyant
Kallus - June 23, 2009
Mets seem like a perfect team to trade Holliday to,
but they don’t really have a ML ready 3Bman – Wilmer Flores is 17 yo – unless Murphy is seen as good enough to be a “3Bman of the future.” Seems like the time for the Mets to make that trade is NOW, when Beltran is out and when they could have Holliday for 3+ months.
Nico - June 23, 2009
Wilmer would be nice if he's 17...
bring him up at 18 and let him play. He’ll hit better than Hannahan.
FoolshGame22 - June 23, 2009
I think that's what it would take
No one else is really worth dealing Holliday to get. I can see trading Holliday to the Cards to get Wallace, even if many on AN don’t agree.
I’m keen on Todd Frazier (Reds), but that’s not a Holliday deal, and on Jason Donald (Phillies), but they want established pitchers.
Nico - June 23, 2009
Don't they have "F-Mart"?
I don’t even know who that is, but 3Bman fetish is my newest vice. And the Mets:
1. Can afford to re-sign Holliday long term
2. need the bat
3. NY seems like the type of place where Matt wants to play
4. Shef will inevitably break down, sooner rather than later
Maybe if we throw in Crosby and Springer, they’ll part with Wright (and Reyes, for that matter, if we give them O-Cab)
Kallus - June 23, 2009
Sure... throw in Springer...
but, we can’t trade Crosby now. We’ve got his brother Blake Crosby coming up. What position does he play? 3B maybe? lol
FoolshGame22 - June 23, 2009
He's listed as an OF in Sickels' book,
but Sickels says “he keeps getting hurt” so I say, go for it!
Nico - June 23, 2009
he's a born-A, if ever there was one!
Kallus - June 23, 2009
I give no credence to this "injured-A's" theory, whatsoever...

SlegnA bunt twice and Rockies fail twice. Bases loaded no outs
Trainman - June 23, 2009
rockies are fucked
cuppingmaster - June 23, 2009
...but I did not spill my draft beer...
BleedGreen - June 23, 2009
Fuck the slegnA
My hatred for the gnats is surpassed only by my disgust for all things slegnA
cuppingmaster - June 23, 2009
That was so predictable
Full meltdown by Stewart who looked at 2nd, double clutched and missed the runner by an inch then Figgins bunted and the pitche through too late to third.
I hate the slegnA.
Trainman - June 23, 2009

One won lost won - June 23, 2009
P.S. 67Marquez did not stand up to sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
That is all.
LoneStranger - June 23, 2009
Instead, he stood up to sing Take Me Out of the Ballgame.
el campysino - June 23, 2009
I know I did. I left in the eigth after that blown call. My stomach couldn't handle anymore of it.
Or maybe it was the jalapenos.
LoneStranger - June 23, 2009
I did so.
Hey, it was soooooo nice of the A’s to let the Giants throw a party at their house tonight.
67MARQUEZ - June 23, 2009
I'd keep a low profile, if I were you.
el campysino - June 23, 2009
Was someone asking for my head???
67MARQUEZ - June 23, 2009
Yes, but not in a good way.
el campysino - June 23, 2009
I don't recall the word "my," actually.
Nico - June 23, 2009
Fair-weathered fans, I tell ya.
Oh wait, they never were fans of mine? Carry on then.
67MARQUEZ - June 23, 2009
RECAP UP
After much debate whether to write, “Tip your cap to Lincecum” or THE A’S OFFENSE SUCKS! I decided not to give them the benefit of the doubt.
baseballgirl - June 23, 2009
