Correct me if I am wrong, but we can control an extra year of Anderson if we send him down for two months? Let’s face it, he has not had a good year, and he is missing his spots.
He hasn't had the same life on his fastball or many of his breaking pitches
I’m not suggesting any injury, more “dead arm” – I would have no problem with sending him to AAA for a couple months, just for the extra year of contract control.
Self-deprecation aside (which, incidentally, seems contrived), his demeanor on several occasions strikes a note with me which really strikes me as being way too full of himself, way to self-important.
Any of us would have probably been a little more negative a few times this year. These guys have some serious composure to not flat out tell the truth about how sucky some of these guys are.
“The A’s really need to get Cabrera’s bat going” means “My word Orlando Cabrera sucks at hitting!” and “A tough outing again for Brett Anderson” means “Has anyone checked with his 2nd grade teacher to see if maybe he’s actually right-handed?”
I cannot watch this terrible excuse of an offense day in and day out. Its far to depressing. Beane needs to get some people who can actually. And if he cant do that in 2-3 years he should be replaces with someone who can.
There are other teams out there! You need to watch a Nationals game just to see how horrible Rob Dibble is at announcing. And how good Ron Darling and Keith Hernandez are on the Mets broadcast.
How come in a 15-0 blowout (like today with the Yankees over the Mets) we don’t see a postion player on the winning team come out and pitch to save the bullpen?
broom-y
we getting swept

bryce harper is going to forego his senior year in an attempt to become draft eligible for this upcoming draft
rhymeswithelephant - June 14, 2009
I would say bring up all the guys from Sac to make the A's worse
but they may be a little better then the current roster and ruin any chance of taking the rest of the season, LOL.
asfaninpismobeach - June 14, 2009
Ugh. This isn't making me want to wear my A's cap to work in SF all next week.
LoneStranger - June 14, 2009
I know what you mean
but it’s part o my personal uniform, so I gotta muscle through it.
I tip my cap to the Giants fans who did the reverse when we were kicking their ass the last few years.
oaklandSMASH - June 14, 2009
We swept the Giants at AT&T Park in 2007 and 2008.
Rated-R Superstar - June 14, 2009
Yeah, I was there
and I stared down ever Giants fan I saw in the SF street after those series
oaklandSMASH - June 14, 2009
on the brighter side, at least the A's are literate

rhymeswithelephant - June 14, 2009
To be fair,
both Orioles and Nationals are harder to spell than A’s.
Leopold Bloom - June 14, 2009
although that apostrophe can be tricky
rhymeswithelephant - June 14, 2009
true
Leopold Bloom - June 14, 2009
A's won't have a problem with the apostrophe
when they are in a full catastrophe
oaklandSMASH - June 14, 2009
First pitch strike
how am I not suprised
then a quick 0-2
oaklandSMASH - June 14, 2009
Send Anderson down?
Correct me if I am wrong, but we can control an extra year of Anderson if we send him down for two months? Let’s face it, he has not had a good year, and he is missing his spots.

certainly couldn't hurt
OaklandSi - June 14, 2009
As you can see by looking at that National League Central graphic, six teams are separated by just four games if the Astros win today.

Well, hey!
Great news everyone! Apparently, Joe Buck is getting his own sports show on HBO.
Now I can hate him with every fiber of my being on two channels.

worldblee - June 14, 2009
He is a douche.
And apparently, the universe is awarding douches this time around.
Leopold Bloom - June 14, 2009
I like the guy
He has a good sense of humor, and occasionally makes fun of himself. I dislike announcers who take themselves too serious.
Thefirstletterofthealphabet - June 14, 2009
And you don't think he does?
Self-deprecation aside (which, incidentally, seems contrived), his demeanor on several occasions strikes a note with me which really strikes me as being way too full of himself, way to self-important.

There won’t be a big change.
Rated-R Superstar - June 14, 2009
I'd be pleasantly surprised
DDroney - June 14, 2009
Yes I'd be shocked and yes there should be.
But there should have been for a long time and hasn’t been.
Nico - June 14, 2009
Yes
I view Beane as being complacent with all this as part of a bigger master plan.

I truly respect the A's announcers.

I think they just speak in code.
“The A’s really need to get Cabrera’s bat going” means “My word Orlando Cabrera sucks at hitting!” and “A tough outing again for Brett Anderson” means “Has anyone checked with his 2nd grade teacher to see if maybe he’s actually right-handed?”
