1. They’re retired Wade Boggs’ number
2. They have no quality food there (though there are rumors now of Gordon Birsch garlic fries)
3. They have a free pizza giveaway that’s not Round Table.
4. The free pizza comes at 10 strikeouts.
5. The free pizza in question, for those of you who remember last season, is full of lies. You have to go to a furniture store and claim a coupon for Papa Johns, and they did an expose where they showed NONE of the Kane’s outlets ever had any vouchers and that it was just an excuse to get you into the building.

Even though he has one of the ugliest swings I’ve ever seen and seems to always get thrown out trying to stretch singles into doubles after a throw home.
I know that Ray Fosse told us all earlier that we can’t talk about what we are going to do when Ellis comes back, but hey i’m gonna talk about it anyways. if he keeps hitting, we can not possibly keep him out of the lineup!
Let's Go A's
C’mon Outman, shut ’em down
doctorK - May 24, 2009
Hey Josh,
Walks are not going out of style.
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
They're nice to setup the GIDP though
mikev - May 24, 2009
Apparently strikeouts are, though
Outman hasn’t recorded one today.
Nico - May 24, 2009
And how many pitches after 7 innings?
iglew - May 24, 2009
97
doctorK - May 24, 2009
If he can go 7 every game only giving up one I'm cool w/ that.
brian.only - May 24, 2009
Yeah. I guess thats ok.
winchester5 - May 24, 2009
he knew exactly what he was doing - GIDP inducing stud
kapers - May 24, 2009
Thank you, Byrnsie
doctorK - May 24, 2009
Hey, uh, what's up with Landon?
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
Hurt himself on the HR swing
I guess it wasn’t bad enough to make him leave the game.
doctorK - May 24, 2009
Jaysus
That guy just can’t stay healthy.
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
He gets a lot of RBI's in limited playing time.
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
Dead. He'll be fine.
Nico - May 24, 2009
Tweaked his side when he crushed the ball, apparently.
mikev - May 24, 2009
roomy.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Ill give it to Outman...
I didnt think we could pitch as well as he has this year. No Ks today but hets getting by without his best stuff and battleing. Give him credit.
Syphon - May 24, 2009
Sign of a good pitcher is when you can win when you don't have your best stuff.
I hope this is the case with Outman.
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
who wants mr 7era joe blanton back??
Asfan4ever723 - May 24, 2009
Or Mr. My Back Hurts Waaaaaaaaaah Rich Harden, for that matter
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
compared ot what we got for Harden, I'll take him back.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Hold out hope for Donaldson
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
I'll take Harden back in a second
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
Even when hes on the DL?
Syphon - May 24, 2009
yes
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
Glad you dont run the team.
Syphon - May 24, 2009
We got a head case pitcher and an underdeveloped project player for him.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
and Murton, who was dealt for Wimberly's Stirrups.
The Stirrups clearly make it a win for us.
mikev - May 24, 2009
hadn't thought of that.
hmmm. good point.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
No thanks
No more “harden is coming bak any day now and the rotation will b awseome” heartache for me.
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
+1
doctorK - May 24, 2009
So we would have him this year for 7 mil...
Now what? Do we resign him? How much and for how long?
Syphon - May 24, 2009
Gallagher with figure it out. Donaldson's Bat is legit.
Syphon - May 24, 2009
Gallagher's a fricking headcase.
He’s out of baseball in two years.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Nah.
Dude’s only 23. That’s the one problem with running out such youngsters.
mikev - May 24, 2009
Based on what... 90 Inning?
Kid is 22… he will be fine.
Syphon - May 24, 2009
23*
Syphon - May 24, 2009
he so fractured, he can't even figure out his age!
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
anybody else's MLBTV down?
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
This guy, right here
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
Mine is still running
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
Wow impressive
Outman has gone at least 6+ innings without allowing more than a run or three hits in his last three starts.
DaSwinginA's - May 24, 2009
You know, now that I think of it,.
there are a few good reasons to hate the Rays.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Except for AK
DaSwinginA's - May 24, 2009
Name four.
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
Maddon is a Scioscia protege
doctorK - May 24, 2009
That's all I need.
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
That they manage to win with a small payroll like we used to?
worldblee - May 24, 2009
well,
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
You had me at #1
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
okay, Renee.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Ojeda should've run through the base
By sliding, it gave Outman enough time to beat him to 1st.
doctorK - May 24, 2009
Outman has wheels.
ElQuesoCapitan - May 24, 2009
It's the stirrups
mikev - May 24, 2009
They should be a requirement for the whole team.
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
I've got mine on.
mikev - May 24, 2009
RAWR!
ZigFan31 - May 24, 2009
I'll show you mine...
mikev - May 24, 2009
Mine are golden.
ZigFan31 - May 24, 2009
I've got no reason to believe otherwise.
mikev - May 24, 2009
Has any Oakland player had a bad game while rockin' the stirrups?
Just sayin’.
iglew - May 24, 2009
That's a great point, actually.
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
GIAMBI.
GONE.
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
401s baby!
worldblee - May 24, 2009
Jason G starting to get hot
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS FUCKING CRUSHED
mikev - May 24, 2009
No doubter.
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
GIAMBI!!!!!!!
ElQuesoCapitan - May 24, 2009
Did Giambi just hit another home run?
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
That shoulda counted as 2.
He absolutely crushed that ball.
mikev - May 24, 2009
He turned on it real nasty
It just happened so fast, I kept checking to see if it was a highlight from last night…
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
OH YES
doctorK - May 24, 2009

“My 401k is now a 201k.”
Classic.
iglew - May 24, 2009
it would be nice if this is the beginning of something for giambi.
greendatitiz - May 24, 2009
holy crap it looks like geren might actaully let outman finish this
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
I'm guessing he tries to get 8 IP out of him
Ziggy the 9th and call it a day.
Nico - May 24, 2009
Well, that sounds almost... competent?
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
or I should say, try to finish this
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
I'm OK with that.
Assuming somebody is up and ready to come in if there are 2 baserunners on at any time.
mikev - May 24, 2009
You were saying???
Can I have Weurtz now?
ZigFan31 - May 24, 2009
Not against a lefty.
mikev - May 24, 2009
guy's got a drinking problem.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
DDroney - May 24, 2009

Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
LOL
walkoff baltimore chop - May 24, 2009
Dad called:
“I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you’re not at the game.”
{click}
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
That's awesome.
mikev - May 24, 2009
I like dad.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
I don't.
I told him I wasn’t even his.
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
that's not right.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Come on.
You know me enough to know I could not, would not.
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
I meant it in an Austin Powers kind of way.
When mini me gives him the finger.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Well that's different.
67MARQUEZ - May 24, 2009
HANNAHAN!
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Hannahan is in
as long as he doesn’t get to bat i’m ok
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
Ole!
doctorK - May 24, 2009
WE ARE OVERPAYING FOR CABRERA!
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
Crosby would've had it.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
Fucking Cabrera.
mikev - May 24, 2009
That was a perfect DP ball
GODDAMMIT CABRERA
ElQuesoCapitan - May 24, 2009
EIGHT errors? Seriously?
I don’t care if it’s a dumb stat. That’s just fucking ridiculous.
mikev - May 24, 2009
Crosby would do better!
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
He's made some good plays
But I dunno what the deal is with this guy, whether its mental lapses or something, but he’s missing shit hit RIGHT TO HIM.
mikev - May 24, 2009
yes. truly ridiculous.
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
STOP IT WITH THIS F'n
Hannahan/Crosby defensive substitution. It kills the lineup, when, inevitably the other team ties it up and goes ahead.
Is crosby really better at 1b than Giambi?
Come on BOB?
33SwisherSweet - May 24, 2009
Here's your reward for hitting a home run Jason - take a seat.
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
A dead goat tied to a post
would be better defensively than Giambi.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
What the hell are you doing in my backyard
mikev - May 24, 2009
Better in so many ways.
Nico - May 24, 2009
Occasionally I come up with a zinger.
mikev - May 24, 2009
G is not that bad, he can scoop real well, but has no mobility.
theblackpearl - May 24, 2009
I have more confidence in him at first than Crosby.
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
Helpful on root beer float day
iglew - May 24, 2009
Scooping machine.
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
+1
When your “defensive replacement” will weaken the lineup that much, just no.
Blicks - May 24, 2009
RING HIM UP, BLUE!
doctorK - May 24, 2009
Well I'm glad you didn't f that up Orlando.
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
I'll take those two for one
doctorK - May 24, 2009
There's our goddamn DP.
ElQuesoCapitan - May 24, 2009
Great Effort By Outman
DP’a are good
Trainman - May 24, 2009
Great double play
Why pull the kid with the bases empty? Pitch count?
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
Yeah and that Justin Upton has already gotten 2 hits off Outman.
probably…
Blicks - May 24, 2009
I see
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
Nice job Outman. Way to battle.
jdub69 - May 24, 2009
I don't feel good about this...
Outman was still throwing heat. I don’t feel good at all about it.
AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009
So, what you're saying is
you’ve got a bad feeling about this?
walkoff baltimore chop - May 24, 2009
Jesus, that was the longest outing by a starter this season?
That’s… a little ridiculous.
Joey C. - May 24, 2009
correct.

You act like it's late May or something.

brian.only - May 24, 2009
He hasn't pitched poorly, really
I’d still like to see him in the rotation.

jdub69 - May 24, 2009

AsFanInIowa - May 24, 2009

It's the same shit they're doing to Gio and Gallagher.
I just don’t fucking understand it.
mikev - May 24, 2009
Ughhhh
Leave Gio and Gallagher in either AAA or the MLB rotation (not the pen!!!). Give them more than 1 start/appearance before demoting/promoting.
It’s asinine and moronic.

Even though he has one of the ugliest swings I’ve ever seen and seems to always get thrown out trying to stretch singles into doubles after a throw home.
ORthey - May 24, 2009
It's been established that Adam Kennedy is awesome, yes?
walkoff baltimore chop - May 24, 2009
He knows how to make a first impression
worldblee - May 24, 2009
How old is Kennedy?
I know that Ray Fosse told us all earlier that we can’t talk about what we are going to do when Ellis comes back, but hey i’m gonna talk about it anyways. if he keeps hitting, we can not possibly keep him out of the lineup!
wacchampions - May 24, 2009
Can he play 3B?
doctorK - May 24, 2009
Ray Fosse is guiding our conversation today?
No wonder you game thread monkeys are so boring!
Leopold Bloom - May 24, 2009
LMAO!!
wacchampions - May 24, 2009
That's a big if.
If Kennedy keeps hitting like this, he’s hard to replace. If he reverts back to his old self, Ellis’s power gives him a slight advantage offensively.
LongLiveLangerhans - May 24, 2009
Ziegler fools him very badly - K!!
