I was late, sir, ‘cause, ya know, it went into extra innings and.. what was that? Baseball, yes. No, that’s not the one with the touchdowns, sir. I understand sir…
There’s a party goin’ on way out west (way out west)
A story’s told to last throughout the years
About a bunch of cowboys, and your laughter too
Ridin’ tall to party with you.
It’s time to come together (tiny and bold)
Tall in the saddle — what’s your pleasure?
Everyone around the world, the size of schnauzers but they’re cattle.
Celebrate, mini sirloin burgers! Come on! Yippee-yi-yo, good times! And guess what, I love pancakes!
ok, really, bases juiced, Buck hits a ball off the ground, it pops up into the aid, SS grabs it, throws to first, not in time. Davis scores from third FTW.
its tough when you’re on vacation and can’t get any info cuz espn is crap and won’t show the decent highlights until tomorrow – yay 2:37 am spring break time
Buck hit one of those balls that bounces high off the hard dirt in front of the plate.
Pedroia makes a fine pick in front of second base and relays it quickly to first.
Buck is eyeing the ball but beats the throw to first, according to the umpire.
He actually looked out in real time, but safe in slow motion. It doesn’t matter. Davis, pinch running for Giambi, touches home easily and a second time for good measure.
jaymee sirus to walk across the parking lot and do the A’s – not in the way doctor K would, but still she loves sports (at least bball) and if she’s any good at baseball she’s approachably cute, smart, and concise, all things you want from a sideliner – besides she’d make everyone on the A’s look tal
btw – thanks for the recap on the end, sounds like the umps wanted to go home, but go A’s, a dubs a dub
on the east coast (and west if you’re still up) my bad – i’m sorry i spent so much time making sure i spelled her first name right that i gave her the last name of someone i feel guilty of finding attractive
we all must come to grips with seeing Crosby at third…I mean hes kinda learning on the fly…Whole career at short and this season already hes played third second and first…HMM I know its not rocket science but still a lot of footwork to learn…Playing third should be the easiest for him but there are certain types of balls that will take him a while to be fully comfrotable with

drmmerchk - April 14, 2009
Honestly, when is Sweeney going to start hitting the ball with some authority?
This whole “6’4, 225lb slappy singles hitter” bit is getting old.
mikev - April 14, 2009
Probably around 2014
WaddellCanseco - April 14, 2009

CrackBaby - April 14, 2009
Wow
Vince Cotroneo’s calls are still just awful.
“Ball driven to the gap. Sweeney goes into a dive. And he’s catches the ball as it dies.”
Now say that as though he missed the ball and it was a double, and you’ll have Vince’s call.
RLangford - April 14, 2009
for a while i thought the ball had gotten to the gap. there was a long time between his call and him calling the out.
mrbendy - April 14, 2009
Yeah
Plus the intonation gave every indication the ball got through.
RLangford - April 14, 2009
I want some media training for our boys.
All of their radio commercials are AWFUL.

pam5981 - April 14, 2009

There’s a party goin’ on way out west (way out west)
A story’s told to last throughout the years
About a bunch of cowboys, and your laughter too
Ridin’ tall to party with you.
It’s time to come together (tiny and bold)
Tall in the saddle — what’s your pleasure?
Everyone around the world, the size of schnauzers but they’re cattle.
Celebrate, mini sirloin burgers! Come on! Yippee-yi-yo, good times! And guess what, I love pancakes!
Englishmajor - April 14, 2009
HAHAHAHA....
I love it. Ish.

You're a hero too...
So is Tarheel…it’s 2:34 there, isn’t it?
baseballgirl - April 14, 2009
i guess if californians are allowed to complain about a 45-degree night,
everybody else gets to say it’s “late” even though the bars are still open…
AV - April 14, 2009
Woo!
Trav postgame interview. They all looked so happy! I love walk-off wins.
whiteshoes40 - April 14, 2009
I'll be there in only 12 hrs- I should bring a broom!
brian.only - April 14, 2009
can someone describe the last play for those of us who didn't get to see it?
danh - April 14, 2009
Something happened, A's win.
ok, really, bases juiced, Buck hits a ball off the ground, it pops up into the aid, SS grabs it, throws to first, not in time. Davis scores from third FTW.
LoneStranger - April 14, 2009
thank you hi ho
its tough when you’re on vacation and can’t get any info cuz espn is crap and won’t show the decent highlights until tomorrow – yay 2:37 am spring break time
IBSlater - April 14, 2009
IF at ALL!!!
BERRYJO - April 14, 2009
Sure.
Bases loaded. Travis Buck chops one high off the plate. Pedroia (I think) gets to it, and makes a great throw, but Buck has already reached first.
baseballgirl - April 14, 2009
High chop over the mound fielded by Pedroia, quick throw to first. Buck beat the throw allegedly.
WaddellCanseco - April 14, 2009
He did.
baseballgirl - April 14, 2009
go to gameday, they just put the vid on
AV - April 14, 2009
and i really, really like
whoever shoves their A’s batting helmet in front of the camera.
AV - April 14, 2009
That was Rajai.
ZigFan31 - April 14, 2009
Don't say that, that'd make me like him again.
OldhamA - April 14, 2009
Really?
Cuz it kinda irritated me because it blocked my view of the players celebrating.
ZigFan31 - April 14, 2009
Yeah. I was trying to see Travis hugging everybody.
whiteshoes40 - April 14, 2009
Remember the whole "supporting the laundry" comment by Beane?
Just reminds me of that.
OldhamA - April 15, 2009
High chop
Buck hit one of those balls that bounces high off the hard dirt in front of the plate.
Pedroia makes a fine pick in front of second base and relays it quickly to first.
Buck is eyeing the ball but beats the throw to first, according to the umpire.
He actually looked out in real time, but safe in slow motion. It doesn’t matter. Davis, pinch running for Giambi, touches home easily and a second time for good measure.
bear88 - April 14, 2009
Thank you, Easter Bunny
for that egg Javier Lopez just laid.

Me too!
baseballgirl - April 14, 2009

Although its nice when they forget and you get to see the post-game show
Amnesiac - April 14, 2009
Buck's hair still sucks, though
But he hit it!!!
baseballgirl - April 14, 2009
He definitely needs to shampoo that!
ZigFan31 - April 14, 2009
If only he had somebody that could help him.
mikev - April 14, 2009

ZigFan31 - April 14, 2009

yawedout21 - April 14, 2009

she is kind of pretty
she likes the A’s
micdog2001 - April 14, 2009
all +'s
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
There you go, Yawed.
These replies answer your question: No, she isn’t paid to speak correctly.
iglew - April 14, 2009
haha
i guess I was wrong
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
we should get
jaymee sirus to walk across the parking lot and do the A’s – not in the way doctor K would, but still she loves sports (at least bball) and if she’s any good at baseball she’s approachably cute, smart, and concise, all things you want from a sideliner – besides she’d make everyone on the A’s look tal
btw – thanks for the recap on the end, sounds like the umps wanted to go home, but go A’s, a dubs a dub
IBSlater - April 14, 2009
It's Sire
Get it right, man!
Helloooo 1st - April 14, 2009
Must've confused her with Miley Cyrus
doctorK - April 14, 2009
I hope not
Jaymee deserves more respect than that.
Helloooo 1st - April 14, 2009
its late
on the east coast (and west if you’re still up) my bad – i’m sorry i spent so much time making sure i spelled her first name right that i gave her the last name of someone i feel guilty of finding attractive
IBSlater - April 14, 2009
A's with 23 walk off wins since 2007
most in MLB
micdog2001 - April 14, 2009
Game MVP
Travis Buck
ChadGod - April 14, 2009
good game
for Tbuck and I hope this prompts more playing time for him
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
I know, he actually hit a leftie too.
Just need some bloody extra base hits now!
OldhamA - April 14, 2009
I'd rather him play
and have Davis on the bench for late game situations…whether we are facing righties or lefties
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
i'd rather have rajai ginterized.
Jjjsixsix - April 15, 2009
Hasta que ganamos
Hijos de la chingada como me desesperan aveces, pero ganamos, amo a los A’s
Buenas Noches

WaddellCanseco - April 14, 2009
Wait....Crosby was actually good in this game?
WaddellCanseco - April 14, 2009
of course he was
cuz now no one expects him to be
IBSlater - April 14, 2009
Well, not really. He was passable.
OldhamA - April 14, 2009
On offense yes
D, not so much.
MobiusKlein - April 14, 2009
I combined it all y'see.
OldhamA - April 15, 2009
he was -4% untii the walk...
Jjjsixsix - April 14, 2009
So that walk redeemed him and made him good.
Wow.
WaddellCanseco - April 14, 2009
to be fair...
the walk was critical. however, given the way lopez was throwing, i’m not sure that anyone in that situation (even rajai) wouldn’t have walked.
Jjjsixsix - April 14, 2009
Suzuki didn't.
mikev - April 14, 2009
i've conveniently erased that from my mind.
sorry.
Jjjsixsix - April 15, 2009
it should also say hitting: -10%

xbhaskarx - April 14, 2009
what he said.
all the info is there, someone just needs to parse through and collect it.
it’s not like the old days when i had to go through pxp on an excel spreadsheet and input and create a graph and a fancy .jpg file.
i’m easily replaceable now.
Jjjsixsix - April 15, 2009
That Holliday double got us started!

TwinsA’s victorycuppingmaster - April 14, 2009

pam5981 - April 14, 2009
not that I've seen.
brian.only - April 14, 2009
Supposedly it was fine.
mikev - April 14, 2009
ya but did you hear geren
say it was some “tendonosis” or tendonitis or whatever you wanna call it? huh…said hell be out a few days….
The bad thing is that tendonitis technically never goes away does it? so if it flares up it can be a problem of recurring nature
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
Pretty much, yeah.
Tendinitis just pretty much aches really bad, but I don’t think anybody thought Chavez would play for a week straight anyway.
mikev - April 14, 2009
I didnt
I thought this whole Nomar/Chavez thing would be great with some limited Crosby over at third when necessary if Nomar moved to First
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
Right. Inevitably there WILL be a few times (more than a few, probably) that both Nomar and Chavy need to sit.
mikev - April 14, 2009
exactly why
we all must come to grips with seeing Crosby at third…I mean hes kinda learning on the fly…Whole career at short and this season already hes played third second and first…HMM I know its not rocket science but still a lot of footwork to learn…Playing third should be the easiest for him but there are certain types of balls that will take him a while to be fully comfrotable with
yawedout21 - April 14, 2009
And RF!
vignette17 - April 15, 2009
I hear they found Saadaams WMD in there
Would explain why it explodes on a regular basis.
MobiusKlein - April 14, 2009
that would explain too much
