Chew on this for a minute: if there is to be any more baseball played this season in the state of California- beyond this evening- the hope of such a scenario rests on the right arm of John Lackey.
In other words, screw West Coast baseball!
Oh, I kid.
Surely you don't have to remind the New York Yankees that it actually takes four wins to win a seven-game series; the last time they were this close to their 40th (40!) trip to the World Series, Terry Francona and his group of whiskey drinking cowboys in red-colored footwear staged the greatest comeback since the First Easter.
Once again the Bombers are just one victory shy of punching a ticket to the Fall Classic, in this, Year 2 A.T. (After Torre), and they turn to A.J. (Burnett) to carry them home.
Regardless of what happens for the remainder of the ALCS, two things I know: the winner plays the Philadelphia Phillies, and the World Series starts next Wednesday. I mean, unless Mother Nature intervenes or something, but now I'm just being silly.

Did everyone die?
It must be that night, then.
Time to go do everything I’ve always wanted to do in about an hour.
Flashfire - October 22, 2009
Looks like Gaudin will be getting some work in tonight
baseballnut020 - October 22, 2009
4-0 already? Jeez. How much did Burnett cost again?!
OldhamA - October 22, 2009
Well, let's see if Slingblade can hold the lead
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
oh my, yankees losing already, how sweet it is
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
why is this sweet?
oh well, I figured slegnA would win anyway
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
it's sweet because the yankees need to loose
just because
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
okay maybe today I can root for...
ugh. I can’t. I’ll have an autoimmune reaction.
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
just root agains the yankees babe
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I know, I know.
Your body is rejecting the influx of incompatible baseball. Here, take this. You’ll be fine for the next couple hours or so.
danmerqury - October 22, 2009
If the Yanks go to the World Series
I don’t want them to have an advantage over not having a week’s layoff, vs. the Phillies
OaklandSi - October 22, 2009
Hey the Motorola Droid specs came out
If you’re a phone nerd like me: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/10/22/motorola-droid-makes-appearance-on-motorolas-site/
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Another shitter call
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Frigid Series
Query; what if the series is snowed out?
bamaA'sfan - October 22, 2009
I think Lackey is making another 5 million dollars with every shutout inning
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Er...yay Angels!
I’m gonna go take a shower.
danmerqury - October 22, 2009
oooh, it's a Sleglead
should’ve done this in Game 1, Slingblade.
At lead there’ll be another game or 2, I was worried about a baseball-less weekend and the inevitable withdrawal pains, followed by the inevitable trip down to the corner of Market St. and 16th St. in West Oakland for some black market baseball, which is cut with cricket and never gets you off as good as the real thing.
Oooh Mathis doubled again, come on Scioscia start him every game next season OH YEAH!!!!
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
at lead=at least
emperor=retarded
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
So have people given up having game threads on other peoples baseball games?
it’s pretty sad that there are 18 comments here in the fifth inning.
Hopefully the majority’s in 67M’s earlier post and are currently electing me the MVP of the 2009 A’s.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
hey bloom
i think you need a lobbying group
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
okay.
what’s my next move?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
The South Shall Rise Again!
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
I think Ole Miss is finally getting rid of that.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
send some people to tune Nico up so he's on your side
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
we've had a few good game threads during the playoffs
last night we learned about Texas and Wisconsin and that CC weighs 290 pounds and two nights ago there was a debate on whether or not I should get a flu shot so it’s been really exciting stuff.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
i thought you were going to tell us some stories about your past in the russian mob
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Shh...
they may be listening
sirbed - October 22, 2009
what was the verdict on the flu shot?
I passed by the Walgreen’s tonight and wondered the same thing. Ultimately, I don’t trust them.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
Nico said think about it
and then they started saying things that went over my head. Bottom line if the swine flu gets big at my school I’ll probably get the shot.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
They always talk about the big things.
They always talk down to us Zoidbergs.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
without getting into the whole thing, the conclusion was
the media doesn’t get science, so whether we’re all fucked or not, don’t rely on them to tell you about it.
I say, if you can afford the vaccination, get it.
But then, I wouldn’t take my advice on nearly anything.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
i got the regular flu shot the other day, i'm still alive
we get them free at work
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
so do it if I can afford it, but don't listen to you?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
well, I would base your decisions on other sources of information apart from myself
this doesn’t apply when I’m talking about music, incidentally. I am always right on that.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
My main concern is that I don't want to get any of my students sick
so I’ll do what ever I think is best.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
I think that's a good approach
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
it is likely not going to hurt you
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
could be population control.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
it could be
but it could help you, too
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Soylent Green is made of people!
sirbed - October 22, 2009
and if it does, sue the government for rushing it out too quickly
this is still America, right?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
yes, lovely america
who relies on foreign countries to make our flu vaccines with millions of eggs the way they did it 80 years ago
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Well, that wasn't my conclusion!
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
and what was yours?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
ok, so as I suggested the other day
AN has turned into a meta-thread blogsite, where we comment on previous threads.
too… much….
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
I'd posit you'll find not too many peoples upon AN who come up with more original content.
Well, more original worthless content, anyhow.
Look! Shiny!
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
i mean, it's too much for my mouse in a cog powered brain to process
speaking of which – did you hear the theory of the two Japanese Scientists about why the large hadron (i almost wrote hardon, there) collider isn’t working?
because the Higgs boson theoretically exists out of time, they say that the LHC might have created one in the future, and it’s become entangled with the present, thus causing it all to break.
Seems to me like they’ve been watching too much Back To The Future, but it does amuse me, nonetheless
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
is it nerdy to say i heard that too?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
yes
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
darn
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
what do i know?
i have no idea what bob said
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
if that's nerdy, I don't wanna be cool
which is just as well, really
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
that should be your signature line
else it might become mine
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Because I am part of that scary monolith "the media", I mean
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
yeah, sorry, that's too much of a generalization, and in doing so, I am guilty of what I was suggesting
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
You already got my vote at gunpoint
sirbed - October 22, 2009
you don't have nay sock puppets, do you?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
(holds up his hand covered in a sock)
Hello Mr.Hand did you vote for Bloom?
Why yes sirbed now get your hand out of my ass!
sirbed - October 22, 2009
ACK!
RUN!
SOCK PUPPET!
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
Speaking of LA
That ownership struggle of the Dodgers sounds like it belongs on E! TV.
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
It's been a good day already
I was walking past the cafe near my house as it was closing, and they were bringing out the unused bagels and scones, so I now have free bread products. Woo!
Anyone who says that I was walking back and forth on purpose to try to time it right is a LIAR and doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
Ahem.
Yay bread products!
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
too many carbs
but enjoy!
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I'm not going to eat the whole bag tonight
obviously, but this should keep me going till I get paid next week.
Also, I made confit tomatoes this afternoon, which I nearly burned, but I think have come out ok.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
how do you make confit tomatoes?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Oven on a low (180-220F) temperature, tinfoil on a baking tray
cut tomatoes into chunks (depending on how big they are) scrape out the seeds and weird watery bit, put them on the baking tray, pour on some oil (a fair bit), salt, pepper, oven them for 2-3 hours.
Cool, jar, cover with oil, store.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
cool!
how long do I wait til I throw the jar out?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
sounds good
i also love baked tomatoes, like in the morning with eggs
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
do you bake the egg in a hollowed out tomato?
is that nice? i t sounds like it could be?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
never did that
just bake the tomatoes, maybe have a runny fried egg with it, yum
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
oh yeah
that sounds easier
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
why do you make me hungry all the time?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
hungry like the wolf?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
hey 80's reference alert code red!
sirbed - October 22, 2009
yes
and for feathered hair
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
and tight jordache jeans
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I haven't worn jeans since 1991
I wore them in high school to be “cool” (ya that didn’t work) but I hated them and haven’t worn them since.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
were they stonewashed?
or black?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
stonewashed.
definitely.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
I wore the black ones a lot
Levi 501’s I think. Now I’m a preppy bastard with my Khaki’s and polo shirts.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
i'm sure j. crew appreciates your continued business ;-)
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
even better L.L.Bean
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
No I get the ones with the little dude
playing polo on them. Like I said I’m a preppy bastard.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
we should all chip in
and get you a vintage cashmere sweater in faded green
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
I could wear it to the country club
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Leather elbow patches?
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
All I would need then is to smoke a pipe
and drive a Volvo
sirbed - October 22, 2009
I dress like I'm 18.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
You're not going out in that skirt!
it’s far too short!
oh, wait, is that right?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
no, that's when I dressed like I was 15.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
I dress the same as I do when I was 18
I was a preppy bastard once I got out of high school at 17.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
I dress like a bum,
and always will. I see no reason to change.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
I dress like a homeless person
as it’s what I might well soon be
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
i'm worried about you
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I'll be fine
I’m gonna get this job!
I’d better get this job.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
i hope so or i'm going to have to open up a soup kitchen in my house
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I do love soup
I had a spiced pumpkin ice cream this afternoon, and it tasted a little like squash soup ice cream.
amazing!
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
pumpkin
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
that's pretty much what I said
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
hey whatever works for you Bloom
I go for what is comfortable which is why I don’t wear jeans as they aren’t comfy to me.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
so that was you i saw in manhattan beach today?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
No dissing J. Crew!
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
were you stalking the bread store waiting for them to close?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
NOOO
LIAR!!!
foul fiend!
Though, I will admit to a bit of late night freeganism yesterday evening (see tomatoes, above)
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Hello all
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
hi EM!
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
Anyone else find the Direct TV commercials with Chris Farley creepy?
sirbed - October 22, 2009
yes
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
more... in poor taste.
I thought David Spade was a better friend.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
Hey!
A story about the “old days” with Tim McCarver! Wow.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
as long as he doesn't say the word "jeter"
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
First time ever right?
sirbed - October 22, 2009
he's amazing!
Why, I could listen to Old Tim McCarver for hours and hours and hours and…say, who’s that other charming man speaking with him?
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
I used to like him but for about the last decade
he seems to say the same things
sirbed - October 22, 2009
mmmmmmathis
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
so i thought i bought ground turkey t make this turkey/mushroom/white bean meatloaf
i must’ve been sleeping because i bought ground chicken
oh well just made it, we’ll see how it comes out
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
virtually interchangeable products
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
i hope
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
they are
i’m amazed that you picked up ground chicken accidentally considering how hard it is to find in a meat case
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
i had no idea there was such a thing as ground chicken
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
usually if you want it you have to ask them to grind it for you
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
nope it comes in a package along with the rest of chicken/turkey products
foster farms, same packaging
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I can't tell the difference between them
I’ve made plenty of turkey-loafs and I’m sure it would work with chicken
sirbed - October 22, 2009
at least this game is flying right along
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
for a Yankee playoff game this is quick
sirbed - October 22, 2009
kate hudson alert
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
donde?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
down in that cage area
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
in the cage?....kinky
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Angels putting up a fight or just pretending to?
Either way, I don’t think I could care about this game any less.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
hey pammy
all slingblade’s doing today
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Yo.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
I'd care less about a spring training game between the Pirates and the Nationals
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Yeah, but without TV and hype it's hard to compare the two.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
omg that commercial
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
ugh levi johnston
i wish that guy would go away
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
i'm protesting pistachios now
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
uh why?
sirbed - October 22, 2009
because of that tasteless commercial
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
fair enough
I like almonds better anyway
sirbed - October 22, 2009
me too
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
the mobster one is funny though
next time someone bothers me, i’m gonna do that
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
is it bad I don't know who he is?
by ‘bad’, what I mean is, should I care?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
the palin daughter baby daddy
and no, you shouldn’t
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
oh! omg. hence the alaska shirt
actually, that guy is kinda heroic, in that he used his MySpace page to tell Palin that she was, well, stupid.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
but it's like the pot calling kettle black
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
that's as may be
but she was a national media figure looking to use him as part of her family for her own ends, he was just a high school kid who got his girlfriend pregnant.
I know who I’m rooting for
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
yes, it's like this game
trying to hedge bets on which evil shall win
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
It's somewhat excusable to be stupid when you're 17.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
less so when you're 45.
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
yeah, I agree. totally sympathetic
I’m guessing the only way I didn’t get a girl pregnant at 17 is because you can’t get someone pregnant by, uh, ‘imagining’ them.
And thank god for that, huh!
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
When I was 17 no one wanted to sleep with me
so I was safe
sirbed - October 22, 2009
(I think that's what Bob was sayint too...)
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
(with added onanism joke)
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
cool so I wasn't the only loser at 17 then
sirbed - October 22, 2009
believe me, I'm not a section of society you want to be taking consolation in being part of
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
I think people who were cool at 17 aren't now
at least that’s what I tell myself.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
hey
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
you know it's true
you can tell us
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
so you've always been cool then OAH?
sirbed - October 22, 2009
well i think so
but who knows, i can hang with the nerds
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
you better! ;-)
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
I wasn't smart enough to be a nerd
I was just a loser
sirbed - October 22, 2009
smoke lots of pot too?
our losers/burnouts did
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
uh no
I’ve never done any drugs. Besides being a preppy bastard I’m also a square as well.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
no way
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
way
sirbed - October 22, 2009
you made it through high school and college without ever getting stoned?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I'm going to lose any respect anyone
had for me (if there was any) I’ve never even drank anything I’m a goodie two shoes in a lot of ways.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
that is sweet
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
You're not going to lose any respect for that!
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Hell, I made it through my whole life
up to the AN Opening Night tailgate this April!
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
unfortunately
those were uncool at 17, are still uncool today. like me.
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Everyone's cool once they come to AN!
Even the actual 17-year-olds….
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Or at least we can pretend to be.
These are the interwebs, after all.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
rater-r, you missed your cue, man
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
ditto
safe by default
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
LOL.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Hi
Hi, I’m awake now. Sleeping in the computer chair isn’t that comfortable.
Rated-R Superstar - October 22, 2009
It could be worse
I fell asleep at a Royals game once and my back hurt for a week
sirbed - October 22, 2009
That's "Trbl"
Have you seen Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley?
Rated-R Superstar - October 22, 2009
tribbles?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
"Trbl"
It’s Charles Barkley trying to say “terrible” and it just sounds incorrect.
Rated-R Superstar - October 22, 2009
that was kind of funny
sirbed - October 22, 2009
hey rated -r
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
What a tool.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
what a twat
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Gotta love Jon Miller,
describing the fan as “a man who…may have no memory of this event tomorrow morning…”
Nico - October 22, 2009
which is sorta ironic, based on the amount he's supposed to knock back during Giants broadcasts
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
where you getting Jon Miller at?!
Leopold Bloom - October 22, 2009
espn radio
but Joe Morgan is there too!
sirbed - October 22, 2009
ESPN radio
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Just got in and fired the tv up
By golly, 4-0 Angels and what?——the top of the 7th already this early in the evening?
ak_A - October 22, 2009
It's still yesterdays game
it was so dull, it warped time
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
(checks calendar)
ak_A - October 22, 2009
I think that was an episode of Lost
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Thank them
for the lack of an iron man marathon of a baseball game. And giving you time to enjoy the finer things in life…
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
Ooof.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
I think that was Bud Selig on the phone
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
This would be funny if the slegnA blow it now
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Ladies and Gentlemen, and that is precisely why I hate Lackey more than I hate Satan. What a truly professional athlete!
Amnesiac - October 22, 2009
what did he do, I have it on mute and not in view of the screen.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
threw a strike, it was called a ball, raised his arms up in disbelief and yelled something at the ump.
Lackey clearly not happy with Scioscia for pulling him.
Amnesiac - October 22, 2009
He said, "Are you sh**ting me? This is mine."
You want to really get back at Scioscia, John? Don’t sign with the Angels in 2010. In fact, sign with their division rivals, the Oakland A’s. For league minimum!
Nico - October 22, 2009
I like it Nico
sirbed - October 22, 2009
tempted
ak_A - October 22, 2009
oof, nice throw
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
See, that's why I like the Yankees more than the Red Sox
Two Yankees fans, applauding Lackey off the mound, there.
No way would Red Sox fans applaud the performance of an opposition player.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
i think that might have been in jest
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
They could see the future!
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Yeah, I'll admit, it's easier to be magmanimous when you're 3-1 up
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
oh my hell
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
holy crap.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
HAHAHAHA
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
susssshhhhh you
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
you have to admit that was ironic
first pitch after slingblade comes out and smash!
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
yea they should've kept him in
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Lackey said
“This is mine, are you shitting me? this is mine!”
Amnesiac - October 22, 2009
i think the clubhouse is taking a beating right now
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Un-believable
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Guess they were just pretending to put up a fight. LOL.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
baseballnut020 - October 22, 2009
Astute managing there, Mike
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Wow the Yankees are something else this year
the Phillies vs the Yankees is going to be a great World Series
sirbed - October 22, 2009
For all 4 games?
Nico - October 22, 2009
well hopefully 5 at least
sirbed - October 22, 2009
maybe god really does love the yankees
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
as long as He forgets about that in the WS it's cool
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
I don't know if the big guy loves the Yankees
but I know he hates the Cubs
sirbed - October 22, 2009
good god, i just got back in the room un-muted and see it was tied.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
well to keep on the end-the-game after 9:00 pm PDTime, this was in the works.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
Yeah, this inning is bringing the average time back up
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
holy shit
ak_A - October 22, 2009
total insanity
he raked it off the ground
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
well at least it's exciting
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
ya it's been a good game for the most part
we’ll see if the Angels have anything left
sirbed - October 22, 2009
the bullpen of the Angels can't matchup with the Yankees
sirbed - October 22, 2009
I thought going into the entire post-season that
Jepsen was in over his head as the set-up man. I never understood that move; watching him in both series against the A’s he was anything but “ready for prime time.”
Nico - October 22, 2009
when they won the World Series it was such a strength for them but
when 73 year old Darren Oliver is the stud of your bullpen you’re in trouble against the Yankees.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
So who's gone over to HH to see what they're posting?
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
tempted
ak_A - October 22, 2009
what the hell
ak_A - October 22, 2009
I gave in to temptation
And I was OUTRAGED! At the beginning of the thread they were singing OUR Mini Sirloin Burgers song! Those evil slegnA fans.
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
i caught that too....but quickly scrolled down to the drama part.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
About two minutes before it fell apart
Someone called Lackey “100% Panther”. Hee hee.
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
this was a good one
Oliver has been a horse for the Angels
… unfortunately in the game we needed him most he turned into My Little Pony
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Kind of odd to take him out for Cano
Nico - October 22, 2009
gotta give cano credit
it wasn’t a bad pitch, really
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Angels are done, man.
likeiwouldtellyou - October 22, 2009
Didn't Swisher make exactly the same out earlier in this inning?
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
ha, I was just thinking that
at least he’s consistent in his approach.
and is trying to give A’s fans what they want
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
lackey punching the walls about now....
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
not with his right hand I hope
sirbed - October 22, 2009
yeah, he needs that one for, uh, throwing.
yes. Throwing.
Nothing else.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
What a jerk!
Nico - October 22, 2009
that was funny guys
sirbed - October 22, 2009
HALO everyone!
Never thought I could root for the Yankees but this is really great to watch.
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
hey there O2B
sirbed - October 22, 2009
hey bud
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
Hey stranger!
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Hi pam 5 9 8 1
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
hi there
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
You're still here?
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
should i leave?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Naw
Just interesting to see who drops off after the A’s season is over.
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
i'm hardcore baseball
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I like hardcore as well
wait what are we talking about?
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Preppy bastards can't talk like that.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Sorry I'll go back to listening to Bach
and talking about the mixer coming up at the country club
sirbed - October 22, 2009
be sure to wear your madras plaid bermuda shorts
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
will do
sirbed - October 22, 2009
I am hard-care that too, and hard-core "my, you lead a rather, ahhh
shall we say ‘interesting’ life in the evenings with the tv on, the cat next to you, and your mac-book on your lap muttering to your self whilst mousing"
ak_A - October 22, 2009
what's, uh, mousing?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
well technically not a mouse on the mac-book
or i missed the joke.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
Hey O2B
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Hi EM- Sorry about your Twinkies if you still have some distant love
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
Oh, thanks! I'm over it now
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Anyone think its ironic that they decided to play Build Me Up Buttercup anyway? after that inning?
Amnesiac - October 22, 2009
I don't know is it like rain on your wedding day
or free advice that you just can’t take
sirbed - October 22, 2009
a free ride when youve already paid?
Amnesiac - October 22, 2009
I'd go on but those are the lyrics I remember
sirbed - October 22, 2009
me too...
Amnesiac - October 22, 2009
i know you're all going to hate me for this
but i actually feel sorry for the angels players right now
i apologize in advance for saying this
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
You're not alone. I kind of feel bad for them too, after all they've been through this year.
likeiwouldtellyou - October 22, 2009
Oh I don't think anyone will hate you except that preppy bastard sirbed
sirbed - October 22, 2009
oh him and his izod alligator shirts
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Izod is sold at Sam's Club
Lacoste is still going for big bucks.
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
My polo shirts are $90 a pop but they last for years
sirbed - October 22, 2009
67M might, too.
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
(but he's kwazy)
Leopold Bloom - October 23, 2009
mmmmmmmmmm mathis
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
mmmmmmmmmmm marquez sounds so much better
just saying
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
sssssssssirbed sounds....oh never mind
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Slingblade has slung his last pitch
in a slegnA uniform
OaklandSi - October 22, 2009
That's funny haha.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Damn, can we just end this already?
I was hoping this would be the last night I’d have to like the Yankees.
JLaff - October 22, 2009
Wow - missed the top of the 7th
So, which manager is going to fail worse here, now that Girardi pressed his Burnett luck two batters too many?
doctorK - October 22, 2009
When you have Hughes fresh and Rivera able to go 2 innings,
I’m not seeing the wisdom of running Burnett out there.
Nico - October 22, 2009
especially as he's a meltdown waiting to happen
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Interesting move, in that Marte is SO unpredictable
He can be filthy/dominant and he can be utterly all over the place.
Nico - October 22, 2009
He can break your hand if he's not too careful
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
The hand? Is that located between
the fallen apart shoulder and the fallen apart back?
Nico - October 22, 2009
Aight, Angels, time to plate these two runs
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Dear Phil Hughes,
Please bounce a curve for a game-tying wild pitch. Thank you very much for your cooperation on this very important matter.
Me.
Nico - October 22, 2009
can i sign that letter too?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I'll put my mark on it
sirbed - October 22, 2009
I'd be happy with him missing the throw back from Posada
and then trying to throw to third, but mailing it into the dugout.
Is that too much to ask, really?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Works for me
I’d like it if both of these horrible teams would alternate recapturing the lead and then blowing it for another three or four hours, really.
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Well, I'd like to watch last night's episode of Top Chef at some stage
so long as it’s over by nine, I’m fine with it
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
I have to watch that one too
But probably can’t do it before tomorrow, so no spoilers, okay?
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
my lips are sealed
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
I forgot Aj burnett
Left the Marlins before their magical run.
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
Let's go baseball!!
I guess I wouldn’t mind seeing the series continue…
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
that's the spirit!
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I like it
if you root for baseball you can’t lose
sirbed - October 22, 2009
a win win, if the angels win
ak_A - October 22, 2009
Hi, I'm John Lackey
It’s my contract year, so it’s important that I suffer a complete meltdown in what’s likely my last inning of work as an Angel simply because an umpire missed a strike call, and then to give up 6 runs in my team’s must-win, biggest game of the year.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
that Jeter dive just made me laugh
he’d have been quicker staying on his feet!
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
gee hope he didn't mess up his "pretty" face
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
It really bothers me that Yankees fans still think he has great range
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
Yankee fans bother me in general
unless you’re from New York you should not root for the Yankees.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
there are plenty on new yorkers (ex and current ) who don't root for them
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
oh I know but if you're from there you have a good reason at least
my two friends from New York are Mets fans
sirbed - October 22, 2009
He has great range...
From zero to the top of his bank account.
worldblee - October 22, 2009
His closetful of women ain't bad either
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
Who is he dating now?
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
He never kisses and tells
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
,,,without leaving a sore
stormtown - October 22, 2009
Snap!
worldblee - October 22, 2009
that Friday Night Lights chick
named Minka, which is ridiculous
stormtown - October 22, 2009
Being Derek Jeter
wouldn’t be a bad way to live life
sirbed - October 22, 2009
but it looks like he's trying more when he slides
sirbed - October 22, 2009
He tries harder than anyone else when he dives for a ball and misses it.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
He is the hardest trier in the history of baseball
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
grit baby ;-)
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
LOL.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
what you guys don't know
is that Jeter is part of the “Dives for Daughters” charity, so every ball he dives for on the infield, orphan girls in Jakarta, Indonesia get a hot meal.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
and I get a box of Cheeze-Its
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
He should dive more often.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Indeed, lass.
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
AN is...
INFORMATIVE
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
FAIL
Here’s a good idea – let’s throw Vlad a fastball right down the middle.
doctorK - October 22, 2009
Long game here we come
er, here we are
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Hey the Angels aren't laying down at least
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Vlad has a flashback to better days
Poor Vlad. It’s hard to bring it when you got no knees.
worldblee - October 22, 2009

bobnothing - October 22, 2009
wow
that was a Sleggy-tastic hit by Vladdy Deadknees, now they need Morales to get real.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
Angels sure swing at a lot of slop
Is Felipe Alou around?
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
they're manly men who don't walk
stormtown - October 22, 2009
This game is wacky.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
This is a heck of a game!
sirbed - October 22, 2009
aw fuck
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
susssshhhhh
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
shush
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
how did your meatloaf of chicken come out suzy baby?
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
i'm not going to cook it tonight, just put it in the pan and froze it, maybe on the weekend
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
yup
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
Fun!
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Hi!
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Hi, sweets!
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
not
JLaff - October 22, 2009
Sorry.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
And... hi!
JLaff - October 22, 2009
Did you have fun sat.?
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Oh yes, it was awesome
JLaff - October 22, 2009
Hey Lynn!
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Yo!
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
New Yorkers are loving this shit
They are more than willing to pay another grand to see a game that they can brag about to their friends.
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
When I win the lotto I might go to the new Yankee stadium
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Hmm, think I check out Pinhead Alley
ak_A - October 22, 2009
SLEG-a-DOCIOUS
very impressed with the not-giving-up-the -eseason-ness in this here frame.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
I'm hungry.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Giradi is having a horrible game as far as managing goes
Bringing out Burnett to start this inning was a really dumb fucking move and leaving him in after the lead off runner got on was of course dumber.
Trainman - October 22, 2009
it's okay
Joba’s gonna come in. (groan)
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
must be some bees or locusts
The Sleg grounds crew can release to make Joba comfy on the mound LOL
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
No doubt
Why not bring in a fresh arm after taking the lead – it’s not like Burnett was any good.
doctorK - October 22, 2009
Except for the 6 shutout innings after the 4th run scored.
Nico - October 22, 2009
Yep
but going to the well once too often.
Trainman - October 22, 2009
Whereas the A's go to the sick once too often.
Nico - October 22, 2009
and it's hard to fuck up when you have that payroll and talent
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
It doesn't make a you a genius GM when you can sign CC and Tex in the off-season
and have a $200+ million payroll
sirbed - October 22, 2009
So... Ozzie Guillen is doing the World Series?
I’m suddenly more interested
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
si
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
1 or 2 games before he calls someone a F***head?
sirbed - October 22, 2009
you mean innings
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
too bad these telecasts aren't on HBO
uncensored
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
here's a good one:
On Alex Rios: What have I seen from Rios? A lot of outs. The only batting ninth guy making $5 million was me. This mother fucker is making $10, $12, $14 million, he ain’t going to be batting ninth [in 2010]. I’m going to make sure he earns his money. But right now I have to put him there because he’s struggling. Next year, if we have Rios batting ninth we’re in deep shit once again.
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
an ozzie-ism
gotta do it with the accent though. it’s funnier that way.
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
he's a riot but I wouldn't want to play for him if I was a player
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Yeah, I'm glad he exists, but I'm also glad he doesn't manage the A's
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
heck maybe batters
sirbed - October 22, 2009
really?
that’s gonna be AWESOME
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Just pre and post game, actually
which is not as exciting as I thought.
forget color guy, the air will be turning blue
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
So if all goes well for the Angels, maybe:
J. Weaver the 8th (it looks like he’s coming in), Saunders in Game 6 Saturday, Weaver in Game 7 Sunday?
Nico - October 22, 2009
Game 7?
hmm that would be something
sirbed - October 22, 2009
In a decision that shocks the world
Slingblade goes on two days rest
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
mmmm hmmm
yep I like me some taters
sirbed - October 22, 2009

cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
I think they follow Fosse around all day
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
i thought weaver was a starter?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
he is
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Very Very Very Very important
that the Sleggos’ pitching coach (Mike Butcher?) take careful note of exactly what has worked against these Yankees… the softer breaking stuff really worked for Sling Blade, it’s working for Weaver here, and they should seriously consider throwing nothing but soft slop up there in NY in Game 6 should they hang on in this one.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
Siddown, Jeter
worldblee - October 22, 2009
jeter strike out is very satisfying
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
not as satisfying
as a Jeter tax-evasion subpeona or a massive steroids-cheating discovery would be, but we’ll take the K for now.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
Jeter-Juicegate would be awesome on so many levels
sirbed - October 22, 2009
personally
I’d pay good American money to see his particular Tearful Press Conference of Contrition, it’d be a day of the yummiest possible schadenfraude.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
I'm getting excited just thinking about it
it would be the greatest thing ever for Yankee haters
sirbed - October 22, 2009
no
A full-on, graphic-as-the naughtiest-gay-porn Jeter/A-Rod sex tape would be the greatest day ever for Yankee Haters.

OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009

sirbed - October 22, 2009
Beware of Rotchyakockoff
ak_A - October 22, 2009
I'll do my best but no promises

OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009

cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
lol
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Who's this suzy chick?
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
Looking at the Stadium there in Anaheim
Can we still modify the Coliseum to Pre-Mount Davis, upgrade the seats and features?
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
i hope so
i’m hoping for the raiders to end up back here in LA so we can do that.
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
The Grity City of Industry
Hit4TheCycle - October 22, 2009
i know
it’ll have that great walk-up character. as long you bring some brass knuckles.
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
We're doing a story about that tomorrow morning
look for it here in about 12 hours!
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
The Raiders would benefit from tearing down Mt. Davis
Then they could sell out the place.
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Gawd, Joba is dopey looking
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Thought the same of Weaver as he came off the mound.
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
Yeah, that too
I guess we see so much of him, I don’t really notice it so much now
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
good point
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
of course, you do the right thing in bringing it to our attention, again
Weaver does look like a slack jawed goat bothering yokel
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Nice strickout
Give that man a beer.
doctorK - October 22, 2009
I wish Al Michaels still did baseball
Buck and McCarver are too much and too many games in a row.
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
yes
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
Talk about picking your poison
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Al Michaels is the best
and unlike Jack Buck’s son he earned his career.
sirbed - October 22, 2009
this.
Leopold Bloom - October 23, 2009
+1
With Jim Palmer as the color man.
doctorK - October 22, 2009
nice
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
As long as we're wishing, I wish Bill King were still alive
and that he was calling the A’s in the ALCS.
worldblee - October 22, 2009
d'accord
doctorK - October 22, 2009

67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009

cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Screw you NY bf!
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Mariano Rivera is your boyfriend?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Close.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
He goes by Peelo
if you ever want to get his attention.
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
They are both the devil.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Swishing throws to the plate with maximum flair
worldblee - October 22, 2009
*Swisher
I can’t believe I typed Swishing. I guess I had flair on the mind.
worldblee - October 22, 2009
that would be he gals who hand an aflair in mind.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
What was with that jump-catch?
doctorK - October 22, 2009
hey, he made two outs in an inning earlier
gotta make his presence felt somehow
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Jeter-itis.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Which STD is that again?
Nico - October 22, 2009
Showingoff forTelevision iDitis.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
i think the vaccine for that has been delayed due to foreign supply problems
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
i think i had to take penicllin for 2 weeks after catching that one
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
7 pitches kills the action...
brian.only - October 22, 2009
In the Corona commercial
I’m picturing Eric and Sloan from Entourage
ohtobe21likehuston - October 22, 2009
I thought they should have sent Willits there
Turns out he probably would have been out because Swisher made a very good throw, but I think with Rivera on the mound and a ball that deep to a guy with usually an average arm, you have to go.
Nico - October 22, 2009
Honey-roasted peanuts anyone?
(chomp chomp)
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
no more fudgescicles?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
later
like 4 left
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Small request. If Fuentes gets A-Rod 0-2 on a pair of fastballs,
could he bounce a changeup? kthxbye.
Nico - October 22, 2009
I'll see what I can do.
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
yeah, odds are a meatball BP fastball
is off the menu for A-Rod this AB.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
dunkin doughnuts - no can do
ak_A - October 22, 2009
I DON'T WANT TO SING OUT.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
if you want to be you, be you
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
so Fuentes
has to get the big boys out if the Sleggums wanna go back to NY, hmmm
When I watch Fuentes pitch, I revel in exactly how awesome it is to have a closer who is a)cheaper and b)way better.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
FAILuentes in
doctorK - October 22, 2009
Did not know Rivera was bald
worldblee - October 22, 2009
crap that means I have to like him
it’s part of our BDC rules
sirbed - October 22, 2009
Wooo!
Ooooh! Ugh!
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
So if Rodriguez walks here, that means he's not clutch, right?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
I'm so waiting for the slump!
brian.only - October 22, 2009
if he really cared, he'd have gone after one of them intentional balls
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
going back to NYC for sure - (hint of reverse jinx)
ak_A - October 22, 2009
I think the Yankees decided one more sold out game was a good thing
worldblee - October 22, 2009
well, of course, part of the script.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
Don't walk A-Fraud
Just hit ’em if you want to put him on base.
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Wow - putting the tying run on base
doctorK - October 22, 2009
Yeah, but you get a lefty-lefty matchup this way
worldblee - October 22, 2009
oops.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
No kidding.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Wussies!
I hate IBB’s…
brian.only - October 22, 2009
Come on, Matsui
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
cc?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Fuentes = Mothra?
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Turns out Fuentes is just some guy in a rubber suit
worldblee - October 22, 2009
This Brian throws harder than that Brian does
sirbed - October 22, 2009

cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009

ak_A - October 22, 2009

cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Fail.

brian.only - October 22, 2009
Why not tie a g-damn ribbon on it.
brian.only - October 22, 2009
Holy shit.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
What?
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Swish, pop one up right now. kthxbai.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
gonna get a hit
he’s been poor thus far, would be typical Swish to put bat to ball now…
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
oh no, i blame the camera man for showing us jeter and a-rod's green eyes
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
well this ought to be fun
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
whoa, our ol boy, Swisher on the line.
ak_A - October 22, 2009
he is doing his best to fuck it up
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
oh boy, if the A's were in this position (either, really)
I’d be losing my shit now
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
my head would have already exploded
sirbed - October 22, 2009
i would have clicked and gone to get ice cream
ak_A - October 22, 2009
yes
67MARQUEZ - October 22, 2009
Does Fuentes have 20 Gs riding on a Yankees win?
worldblee - October 22, 2009
This is what happens when you put people on base on purpose
Nico - October 22, 2009
Shameful.
brian.only - October 22, 2009
Fuentes is such an overpriced stiff
I’d just like to take this moment to remind everyone of how awesome this is:

emperor nobody - October 22, 2009
but he caught it, you can catch in foul territory
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
it was a high chopper
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
it hit the ground?
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
yes
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
Yep.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
not when it's already hit the ground
sirbed - October 22, 2009
guess i didn't see that, sorry
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
Do not give Swisher anything to hit right now
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Leave to a former A to take crappy swings and put himself down 0-2
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
swish looks rattled, nervous, awkward
ak_A - October 22, 2009
can you blame him?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
YES HE'S A YANKEE
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
BUT HE'S NOT A TRUE YANKEE
doctorK - October 22, 2009
doesn't Fuentes have a little of the Zito FITZ face about him?
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
hey cute slegnA usher
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
She looks pretty good for someone from the 1890's
worldblee - October 22, 2009

cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009

ak_A - October 22, 2009

pam5981 - October 22, 2009
Woohoo!
Where’s the cheese man?!?!
brian.only - October 22, 2009
He did that shit on purpose!
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
jesus Fuentes is so awful
K-Rod is better than him with his eyes gouged out… BF was lucky to get out of that shit.
emperor nobody - October 22, 2009

I can’t believe they purposefully picked him up
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009

OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009

worldblee - October 22, 2009
That loss is on Girardi for leaving Burnett in
doctorK - October 22, 2009
Do you write for the NY press?
worldblee - October 22, 2009
Great game
I can’t wait for game 6 and I never thought I’d be saying that about a Yankees vs Angels series
sirbed - October 22, 2009
yay!
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
What a pity, but yay for more baseball!
Englishmajor - October 22, 2009
Swisher is killing this team
0-8 with 18 LOB with RISP
Giaradi is an idiot for Burnett and allowing Swisher to hit for himself.
Trainman - October 22, 2009
kill me now if you must
but I don’t miss Nick Swisher as a ballplayer for the A’s
sirbed - October 22, 2009
LOL Slingblade
“I’m not calm yet, I’ll be honest”
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
the way he ran onto the field
I really thought he was gonna deck the ump
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
chugged a few rockstars in the clubhouse
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
he'd been pounding Red Oval back there
bobnothing - October 22, 2009
Lackey - voice box with tinge of kermit the frog

lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Unfortunately looking, really, he is.
doctorK - October 22, 2009
On this perfect day,
in my way, nothings standing.
lynnzgal - October 22, 2009
Why did they decide to interview Kermit after the game?
Did he get an RBI?
worldblee - October 22, 2009
what the hell is wrong with Swish
at this pace he’s gonna get benched!
closetasfan - October 22, 2009
He should be benched
he is a liability at the moment
This is the PS and the pressure is on and he is as unclutch as you can get.
Trainman - October 22, 2009
I kinda like Torii Hunter, actually
he always seems so glib
cuppingmaster - October 22, 2009
he seems cool
OakA'sHoney - October 22, 2009
I like him a lot.
Plus he’s really pretty.
pam5981 - October 22, 2009
