A's will be looking to extend a slim lead going into the 4th inning. The guys jumped all over Dickey in the 1st inning by putting up a 3-spot. But since that time, the offense has quieted down. Outman, looking as hittable as he did in Texas, has given 2 runs back to the Mariners. A's still up 3-2.

Woot! I'm the first one here!
#14fan - September 28, 2008
New thread already?
Feels like we just got this party started.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
But now we can start a whole new one!
Mojo dance!
#14fan - September 28, 2008
Remember the Pepsi dance?
Man, those were the days.

Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Lol. I forgot about that.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
its like, we left one bar to go to another one
the party is still going, but its less crowded now
BigTuna - September 28, 2008
Pub crawl?
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
indubitably
BigTuna - September 28, 2008
Bye Dale!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Oh wow....
Bobby swinging at low and away pitches. Wonder where he learned that?
alox - September 28, 2008
Yay, I got to see two seconds of Ryan,
in the clip of Denorfia’s double. It’s the small victories.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Hm, Bobby all clean-shaven now
looks weird
schmifty - September 28, 2008
He's gotta go look for a job....
alox - September 28, 2008
LMAO awesome.
Blicks - September 28, 2008
He shaved off the Embree beard?
That was probably a good idea.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
yeah, the Embree beard needed to go
but I wouldn’t mind the soul patch coming back.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
[dum dum dum] GOBBLEDYGOOK!
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Korach:
“I think what [Crosby] needs is a fresh start next spring, coming off a healthy season.”
We love ya, Ken, but, please, face the facts…
Soaker - September 28, 2008
Maybe he means a fresh start in some other line of work.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Vince: "September has not been kind to Crosby"
actually, for all who wondered what Crosby could do in a healthy season — now we know.
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
"Major League Baseball has not been kind to Crosby" is more accurate
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
It's been more than kind, he's made a boatload of money.
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
"AN has not been kind to Crosby for stealing money"
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
I think i like his un-healthyt seasons better.
alox - September 28, 2008
Fosse just called Emil Brown the RBI machine.
he’s behind the times.
#14fan - September 28, 2008
well, he was earlier in the season
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
Nah, he was just the guy who benefitted from lots of guys on base
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Twins are owning the Royals.
Looks like Sox-Tigers game tomorrow.
Blicks - September 28, 2008
Sox-Tigers no matter what happens in the Twins game
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Yeah.
But now its a must-win for the Sox. Lose == Twins in playoffs.
Blicks - September 28, 2008
Woo! DP!
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
One last Dale split
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Ahhh this is torture.
At least the Gnats game is going quickly… so far.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Stretchy!
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
I wish mlb.com would get their stuff together so I could actually see the last A's game of the season
Their system seems to be overloaded today.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Me too.
I need a play by play
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
After refreshing all the screens a hundred times I think I got it working
But that could just be because the NL races are done and the Twins game is all but over.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Twin Killing....
the Sox can only dream….
alox - September 28, 2008
So what are AN's collective wishes???
Sox or Twins?
alox - September 28, 2008
Twins. For sure.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Twins I guess. Sox without Quentin aren't the same.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Twins
I love the Twins, and also, Ass Jack doesn’t need to be in the playoffs ever again.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Aside from beating the A's, why do people hate AJ so much?
I’m sure he’s probably a jerk, but I actually really like him as a player.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
There is no probably about it
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Do you know him?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
He ran over my cat.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
And then he backed up and did it again
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
He ran over both your cats?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Yeah, they were Siamese.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
I want to make this a QOTM but it's just on he edge of being good enough
OK sure. QOTM!
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
And then got out of his car....
and beat it with an umbrella.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
He's never been a jerk to me
And it’s not as though he’s a rapist or anything truly terrible, so I don’t have any ill feelings towards the guy.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Twins.
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
There certainly will be some awesome irony if Freddy Garcia beats Gavin Floyd tomorrow
Since they were traded for each other. And the Sox could’ve signed Garcia to help their rotation but they didnt think he’d be able to pitch at all this year.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Isn't Garcia Ozzie's son-in-law or something?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Something like that
Ozzie actually said that he thinks Garcia can make it back to the bigs, but they needed a guy who would be ready and 100% this season and he didn’t think Garcia would be at that point until next season. He might be right. Detroit just has nothing to lose by having him get some work now.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Yes the Tigers have a last place pitching staff.
They might have to rebuild the whole team because of it.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Twins.
Blicks - September 28, 2008
Ken: "Do you remember the last week of the '06 season?"
YES WE DO Ken, and the contrast is painful.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
What are the AL playoff scenarios?
Is it Rays-Red Sox and Twins/Sox-Angels?
NateHST - September 28, 2008
Angels-Sox and Rays-Twins/Sox.
I’m pretty sure, anyway.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
oh the sox and the sox?
NateHST - September 28, 2008
Haha. Well, I knew what I meant, anyway.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
She's rooting for the laundry.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Hee
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
No. Teams in the same division can't play in the first round.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Twins/Sox-Rays & Red Sox-Angels
baseballnut020 - September 28, 2008
thanks
NateHST - September 28, 2008

Rays vs WC.
alox - September 28, 2008
%(*!(*)%!(*)!$! MLB.TV
Lost my feed and can’t get it back. Guess I’ll walk the dogs.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
I kind of hope the Twins and ChiSox have to do the one-game playoff.
It would certainly be entertaining.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Nice ovation for Vizquel at the Giants game.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
First ST broadcast: Feb. 28.
Aaaand the countdown begins.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
I think we should set up several Co-Ed slowpitch teams
and just duke it out till that date
BigTuna - September 28, 2008
i agree
flipgatey3 - September 28, 2008
Just 152 days left!
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
Bah! Outman. Fail.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
What is wrong with pitchers?
why can’t they throw a freaking baseball.
alox - September 28, 2008
Wow Outman
That should have been an easy out, man.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Outman is not growing on me…
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
Moldman?
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
He's learning.
Can’t hate on a LHP who throw’s in the mid nineties.
alox - September 28, 2008
unless it's alan embree
flipgatey3 - September 28, 2008
Then you can't like on him
Nico - September 28, 2008
i think alox meant speed, not age
gigglingone - September 28, 2008
What the crap just happened out there?!?
I heard Sweeney, bobble, Buck, falling down…
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Ryan and Travis converged on it...
Ryan let Travis get it. Travis fell, Threw it to Sweeney who threw it back in to Cliffy.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Who is this Sweeney of whom you speak?
Thanks for the description. Trav sure has had a lot of adventures in the outfield this weekend.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Travis looked like he might have been stuck under the wall.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Holy crapoly.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
GET OUT!
This is just getting old.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Wow, OFers.
I don’t think that could have been fucked up any more than it was.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
That was just a blooper reel
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
yeah, but then Ryan looked cute with his tongue sticking out.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
I missed it.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Doing his best Huston impersonation?
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
it was an after-the-fact "blahhh" tongue-stickout
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Oh as long as they're cute while falling all over the field..
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
If Gonzalez is in CF, that's a fly out, first and third
Nico - September 28, 2008
I'd put a thousand dollars against that
For Gonzalez to have made that play, the difference between he and Sweeney defensively would have to be the difference between Willie Mays in his prime and 2008 Ken Griffey Jr.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
LOL
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
You owe me $1,000
Ryan Sweeney is strangely slow in the OF and gets incredibly poor jumps; Gonzalez is the opposite. Gonzalez catches that – it wasn’t nearly as hard a play as it appeared to be.
Nico - September 28, 2008
Now I kinda wish mlb.tv wasn't working so I didnt have to watch this.
thejd44 - September 28, 2008
Mine just came on in time for the strickout
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
My Sunday is not looking like it will end nicely…
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
I predicted this from the beginning.
The Outman just can’t get outs.
#14fan - September 28, 2008
Get the Outman out.
Blicks - September 28, 2008
Well, at least Outman
isn’t hanging curve balls up in the zone anymore. I think he’s going to be a very good pitcher.
alox - September 28, 2008
Or at least halfway decent.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
I think he'll be more than just decent.
alox - September 28, 2008
Really?
Why would you think he’d definitely be better than say — Oliver Perez?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Same pitcher but without being a mental case = better?
Nico - September 28, 2008
Hee
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Did they just intentionally walk Johjima?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
off topic, again...
has anybody voted for the best of 2008 thing that they were talking about on TV?
#14fan - September 28, 2008
I really like Outman's stuff
His issue doesn’t seem to me to be so much control as it is pitch selection. The 0-2 “backfoot slider” he threw Lopez this inning is precisely the pitch he needed to throw Balentien (when he doubled). He needs to learn when and how to go “up the ladder” with his fastball, how to bury his slider, etc. He has a chance to be good.
Nico - September 28, 2008
He's going to have to work on his curve.
Or throw it very rarely. He’s got a plus fast ball and the slider is very good.
alox - September 28, 2008
The curve should be more of a "get me over" pitch to steal a strike
He’s a power pitcher – if he wants to go soft, use the changeup.
Nico - September 28, 2008
Yeah, problem for Outman is that his
curve fools no one. The couple he’s thrown have ended up a very long way from home plate.
alox - September 28, 2008
I wouldn't think he'd be allowed to shake off Suzuki
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
HIBYE Ryan.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Woo, mini-rally.
Can we get some runs, now, Bobby?
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Bobby only gets those when he eats bad mexican…
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
Bad Mexican would be a good name for a movie...or a rapper...or a horse
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
or an injured third baseman?
gigglingone - September 28, 2008
So Buck, Barton and Denorfia are really major league players?
We could have used them this year.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Barton only against Seattle
Nico - September 28, 2008
Barton only in September.
Blicks - September 28, 2008
Anthem!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Ray, you are trying too hard.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
BAH!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
LOL
Ken just did his make-up ClearCard mention for the walk he overlooked in September….consistent with his inability to remember it about 90% of the time this season. I hope ClearCard isn’t renewing their sponsorship.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Whaaaaat
Gah I want runs
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Deno would have scored...
but holding him was the right call.
alox - September 28, 2008
Wait, so
he would’ve made it, but it was the right call to hold him just in case he didn’t make it? I’m confused.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Correct process
Nico - September 28, 2008
Suzuki has a cannon for an arm...
the league knows it. He was in shallow right when he made that throw…..he usually doesn’t miss. Ask T. Long about Suzuki’s arm…..his ass got thrown out at third on a ball that never got higher than six feet off the ground when Ichiro threw it. It also came in at about the speed of sound.
alox - September 28, 2008
Yes, that was my introduction to the phenomenon that is Ichiro!
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Right - not only is an Ichiro throw rarely off line,
but even with that throw it’s possible Johjima would have had time to catch it and STILL get back to block off / tag Denorfia. Waller did the right thing holding the runner.
Nico - September 28, 2008
Okay.
I didn’t see the play, so I wanted to know if holding him was a good decision. Sounds like it was.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Plus, you just don't take the bat out of Jeff Baisley's hands
Because you shouldn’t give him one in the first place.
Nico - September 28, 2008
come on jeff baisley!!!
#14fan - September 28, 2008
Yay Bob!
So Waller’s basically never going to send anyone? What’s the worst that would happen if someone were thrown out — they’d move him to 1B?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Waller really had no choice
Nico - September 28, 2008
How do you figure?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Ichiro.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Ichiro had the ball before Denorfia hit third
and can throw guys out when they are 5 steps farther along than Denorfia was.
Nico - September 28, 2008
Yah OK -- It's still frustrating.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
No argument there!
Given the state of the A’s offense, I’m sure Waller will send a runner every chance he gets.
Nico - September 28, 2008
He's been more conservative than Tony D.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
"more conservative" = "less reckless" in this case
Nico - September 28, 2008
BAH
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Fuck you.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
#%^@#&^@#.
not fair.
#14fan - September 28, 2008
FU Baisley
Blicks - September 28, 2008
I prefered to avoid the blatant swearing.
#14fan - September 28, 2008
Agreed. We don't know the ages of everyone on here.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
i definitely act
12
BigTuna - September 28, 2008
I go to 11
It’s one less mature, isn’t it?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Please: One fewer mature
Nico - September 28, 2008
When you need that extra push over the cliff,
go One Fewer Mature!
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Couger hunter!!!!
alox - September 28, 2008
One Fewer Mature
new boy band perhaps???
BigTuna - September 28, 2008
Their leader can box Bad Mexican when they're both 50
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
I'll draw up the papers
you find the talent
BigTuna - September 28, 2008
my point exactly.
#14fan - September 28, 2008
Holy smokes!
The Marlins have 17 arby eligible players next year!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
So Uggla's available?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
I'm wondering the same thing....
Marlins may be trading a lot of people…..
alox - September 28, 2008
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!
I have to leave now…. I can’t finish the last game thread of the year!!!! Stupid shared computer. It’s just NOT FAIR!!! now I have to go through offseason AN game thread withdraw. Whatever. I hate my life without baseball and AN. bye everybody!!!!
:(
#14fan - September 28, 2008
Tell whomever that the terms have just been changed....
alox - September 28, 2008
Ya, we'll drop by to emphasize the point if you'd like.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
That sucks.
See you in February.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
Maybe we'll have mock-game threads.
Haven’t we had those in past offseasons? Or maybe I’m just making that up.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Can't we talk about the play-offs?
and pretend that we’re still talking about the A’s?
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
I think it was on an off day.
I remember monkeyball and the Supreme Court.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Yeah, I think that's what I'm thinking of.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Did we win?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
lol
i do have a vague recollection of made-up game threads as well….
gigglingone - September 28, 2008
AN knows no offseason
I’m sure there will be game threads for all postseason games. And lots of other fun stuff too.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008

I realized I'm still upset with Ryan for refusing to wear that wig
so here’s what it would’ve looked like
Hair courtesy of Hilary Duff.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Hot.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
LOL
I didn’t think Ryan could get prettier.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
now that I look at it...
it kinda looks like Madonna leaving the gym.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
That little nametag looking thing has been bothering me.
I need to know what it says.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
I knowww!
Me too.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
The answer!
I found the costume online…

Description: “Includes ‘Miss Hellen Back’ removable name tag”
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Haha, wow.
He definitely should’ve worn the boots.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Ah, BOOTS.
I thought you said something else.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Ha.
That would’ve been interesting as well.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Haha, Hellen Back.
Gettin’ it…
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
AHA!
This explains why he had the wand – that picture shows 2 outfits because the Devil dress reverses to an Angel dress. The reversible dress also came with the Angel wings and wand pictured.
Angel Ryan would’ve been cute, too!
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Angel Ryan only comes out when we're over .500
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Slight correction
Angel Ryan only comes out when he’s at home with Dale.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
"Jennifer's Bitch"
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
It's the watch over the gloves that really makes that outfit
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Absolutely
Why he still decided to throw on his fancy man-watch is beyond me.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Why do girls find guys who are in drag
appealing? I don’t get it. I never thought a mullet looked good on a girl….or a guy for that matter.
alox - September 28, 2008
The answer is probably way too long to spell out here
schmifty - September 28, 2008
I decided on the short version
Girls’ clothes are sexy and revealing. Put them on a hot guy → boom.
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Why? You can just ask a guy to get naked....
most of the times they’ll do it.
alox - September 28, 2008
yeah, but I can't ask Ryan to get naked
schmifty - September 28, 2008
It's like putting wrapping paper on a Christmas present.
Do you need it? No, but it makes it a lot more fun.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
So I should dress in revealing girls clothes?
Oh you said a hot guy…
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
ooooh, AN Hazing. Excellent idea.
gigglingone - September 28, 2008
It's sort of how guys find gay activity appealing with women but not vice versa I'm guessing
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
I got in trouble for cussing.
You don’t want me to explain this.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Okay,
1) That dress SHORT,
2) I love that he put the watch on OVER his gloves,
3) he has great legs
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Agreed on all points.
Especially #3.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
#3 FTW
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Yay Trav!
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Yay Travis!
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Travi needs a triple!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
That would be pretty.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Travis seems to have fixed
whatever it was that ailed him.
alox - September 28, 2008

Nico - September 28, 2008
Ya Kurt is a DP threat
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Nico, did you go to How Berkeley Can You Be? this morning
I thought of you — there were goats in the parade.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:-(
Nico - September 28, 2008
Woo, Kurt!
Okay, RyRy, now’s your time to get on the highlight reel. Do it for me. Please?
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
(I mean, other than the non-catch in CF)
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Yay Kurt!
Thanks Raul.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Kurt!
and Buck is held at third.. In Waller’s defense, Buck wasn’t running aggressively at all.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
The ball barely cleared Raul's head.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
True
but before anyone yelled at Waller for not sending him.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Do it, Ryan.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
Loser.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
Ibanez taking even MORE pride in his defense.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
Ryan fails.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
But they showed HAWT RyRy dugout action.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
You're mean.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008

justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
FAIL!
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
BOOO
A’s leave ’em loaded again.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Story of the season.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
In the A's defense, they have many innings where they don't get anyone on base
Nico - September 28, 2008
Yes they're versatile
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Hahaha
Well played.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Pretty good outing for Outman
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
His worst pitch was to second base
Nico - September 28, 2008
Hi Splits!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
I’m going to miss those splits…
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
YES!
alox - September 28, 2008
Mussina won his 20th.
I’m glad he finally did that.
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Yay Jerry!
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Who's in the pen next season?
Blevins, Ziggy, Brown, Street….
alox - September 28, 2008
Devine, the best of the bunch.
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
I'm not sure about Brown and Street
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
You don't think Street will be traded?
I don’t see much chance of Beane bringing him back next year, especially at the risk of arbitration.
Soaker - September 28, 2008
I think he'll be shopped....
and i’m guessing the Mets will by buying…..lol.
alox - September 28, 2008
Street for Glaus
Nico - September 28, 2008
ummmm
okay. Only happen if the Mets forget to fire Omar before the WS is over.
alox - September 28, 2008
I think Gio should start in the bullpen
then work his way towards being a starter.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Or start the year in AAA
no way should he be in the rotation.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Outman might do that too
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Okay, Dale. Do something good.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
That'll do.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
You need to say that for Krosby.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Okay, Bobby. Do something good.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Like go away?
alox - September 28, 2008
This PA.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
It's your fault.
You insulted him.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
I blame that on you.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Eh, Crosby will too.
alox - September 28, 2008
I think we're alone now.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Single!
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
I hate that stupid train
I could hear it from my friend’s apartment when I was in Seattle visiting.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
I bet your friend hates it even more.
Krosby K swinging low and away. Imagine that.
alox - September 28, 2008
She didn't seem to notice it
it passed right by her house every night I was there, needless to say I was sleepless in seattle… heh
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Maybe she's doing other things besides sleeping....
alox - September 28, 2008
I wouldn't know
I never even saw her room, she was a weird one.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Really?
It’s probably a good thing that you didn’t sleep.
alox - September 28, 2008
Might have woken up in a bathtub full of ice.
Or not woken up at all.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Either that....
Or dressed up in womens clothing and about to be violated.
alox - September 28, 2008
That's bad?
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Depends.
(Not the diaper, that really is bad)
alox - September 28, 2008
Eh, I wouldn't have wanted to be violated
Dressed up maybe.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
If she got you that far....
she’d have her way with you.
alox - September 28, 2008
She missed her chance.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Hey Patrol Craft!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Gah! Slegna playoff commercial.
I think I’m gonna throw up.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Their postseason won't last past next weekend.
baseballnut020 - September 28, 2008
I WAS THERE!!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Murg.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
FAIL
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
C'mon, Cliff!
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
Okay, Cliffy. Do something good.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
I don't like this game.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
baseball? who does?
Nico - September 28, 2008
crosby isnt the sharpest tool in the shed
give him a ticket to vancocuver, instead of oakland and ban him from entering the US forever. maybe best friend JP will give him a job
Asfan4ever723 - September 28, 2008
With any luck, Crosby chasing ball 4 in the dirt
to kill a rally will be his final AB for the A’s. Please?
Nico - September 28, 2008
Sigh...
And so, out by out, the season slowly trickles away.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
Nah - we're going 17 today
Nico - September 28, 2008
Wake me up around the 15th
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Autumn winds,
come blowing in….
alox - September 28, 2008
I'll see you in a few days.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
I wonder where RyRy and his dad are going to stop on the way back to Iowa.
They’re going a bit farther east than I did when I drove there, but Rock Springs, Wyoming, is about halfway…
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Sun glasses store.
alox - September 28, 2008
LOL
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Haha
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Little America is sort of interesting
to see every possible appliance that can be run off an automotive battery. I remember being amused by the waffle iron.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
I think we stopped there once
to see what all the fuss was about, after seeing Little America billboards for 75 miles. The only billboard I remember now involved cheap ice cream cones.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
I'll put the kettle on.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
Oh RYAN
schmifty - September 28, 2008
Oh good lord.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Ry! What are you doing!
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Oh Ryan.
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
FAIL, Ryan.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
That is baaaaaad, Ryan.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
He looked scared.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
put the roof on!!!
Asfan4ever723 - September 28, 2008
Phew. That made me nervous.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
The Mariner's are cheating
and using the Sun God. Eff that.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Okay... the Giants won...
now can we switch to the A’s? I’m just afraid they’re gonna show the Giants postgame show instead…
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
unlikely
they’ll have their post game stuff
Asfan4ever723 - September 28, 2008
I'm not going to miss the radio ads
(especially because we usually get half of them recycled for next year). I finally looked up the lyrics to the song in the Valero commercial, which I kept hearing as “The brave are free and love and sore” — and I’m thinking, okay, so they may be but what does that have to do with gasoline?
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Sweeney
dont mess up devine’s mlb record
Asfan4ever723 - September 28, 2008
Joey! Stop!
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Joey is not being so Devine
right now. I think he’s going to beat Sweeney up.
alox - September 28, 2008
Oh gosh. I’m muting it and covering my eyes. I can’t take this…
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
I don't think it's going to affect our season.
alox - September 28, 2008
but it affects my blood pressure.
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
There's more on the line here.
I can’t even begin to try and explain what, but just trust me there is a lot on the line.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
hee
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
LOL
Ryan, you are killing me.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Phew.
Okay, boys. Let’s do this.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
.59!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
The price of a candy bar!
I think.. I haven’t bought one in awhile.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Ohhhh. Joey's ERA.
I get it now.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
You know what stinks?
The A’s are going to juuuuust finish with better records than about 4 teams (win or lose today). 73 wins would have gotten the A’s a much better pick than 75.
Nico - September 28, 2008
I blame Devine
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
Meanwhile, win or lose
the Mariners are saved from having the worst record in baseball, because the Nationals lost today.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Let's go Travis!
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Let's go Trav! Triple, please!
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Dear Mariners,
Please give Trav a triple.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Do us a solid Mariners.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Hey, why should they help us?
We could have helped them get the #1 pick, but noooo.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
PS- We'll let you win.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
PS - You lose now
You had your chance.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
LOL
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Now you've just pissed me off
and we are now forced to kick your ass.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
That wasn't part of the plan.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Kurt Kiyoshi Suzuki
You had better get yourself a hit here, young man.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Oooh, bringing out the middle name.
This is getting serious.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Or you can forget about dessert, mister!
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Ryan. I'm serious this time.
Do something good.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
He Kd without pants on.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
swoooooon
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
I hate you.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
I didn't strikeout!
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
That's because you make too much contact
Nico - September 28, 2008
I hate both of you.
[sob]
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
I hate people who sob
{sob}
Nico - September 28, 2008
Ryan please, do something good.
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
It'd be nice for cust to
get another AB……but it ain’t going to happen. Cust would get 34 for sure.
alox - September 28, 2008
Or 198
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
come on, please
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
No pressure, Ry Bread.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Aww, hi Ryan.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
Ryan, you just broke my heart.
Kimberly - September 28, 2008
oh crap
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
Figures.
What a depressing way to end a depressing season.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
At least they're consistent.
though i’d like to see the trend change next year.
alox - September 28, 2008
One inning of offense....
alox - September 28, 2008
Crumbs
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
worst day of the year
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
=’(
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
Nooooooo!
It wasn’t supposed to end like this!
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
It's over.
I miss you already, baseball.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Fitting end to the season, striking out on a ball.
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
Yay to everyone here!
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
+1
Nico - September 28, 2008
Oh, and now they play anthem.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Huge series for the Nationals!
Nico - September 28, 2008
I'm not ready for this
Someone hold me.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Fly to Seattle.
alox - September 28, 2008
hahaha, i'd rather not
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
{holds thesteve9x, touches inappropriately}
Nico - September 28, 2008
I think he likes to be dressed like a girl....
hope that helps.
alox - September 28, 2008
I prefer my girls undressed
Nico - September 28, 2008
I prefer the nude also.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
It all feels the same in the dark.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Just ask Angel Herandez around 10:00am
Nico - September 28, 2008
{stops holding thesteve9x, washes hands furiously}
Nico - September 28, 2008
Oh man
What an end to the season for us.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
I know.
Call me.
Nico - September 28, 2008
[sob!]
I’m going to Las Vegas for the WCC basketball tournament, March 6-9. Will go to spring training games either the week before that or the week after. Stay safe, and have a good offseason!
Soaker - September 28, 2008
I'm sad.
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
So who's the best draft pick available not named Strassberg?
Nico - September 28, 2008
And can he play third, hit for power and hit from the right side?
Oooooh and can he be ready the day after he’s drafted?
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
Well, I meant for Seattle to draft
The guy you’re talking about is also somehow overlooked for 12 picks.
Nico - September 28, 2008
Maybe he doesn't look good in jeans...
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
Grant Green?
WaddellCanseco - September 28, 2008
I’m in denial. there is an A’s game tomorrow right?
justarebelheart - September 28, 2008
Yes, yes there is.
I believe Freddy Garcia is involved.
Nico - September 28, 2008
Someone better make a game thread for this
and pretend that instead of posting the line-ups for the White sox, post it as if they are the A’s, and then we’ll have a game thread.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
There's some former A's in a game tomorrow...
Swish, Dye, probably others…
whiteshoes40 - September 28, 2008
Dotel
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
Kotsay, DJ, Carlos Peña, Blanton, Harden,
Gaudin (if he makes the postseason roster), Ethier, Kendall…
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
lol finish strong
5 loses in a row
12th worst record, 13th pick in draft
Asfan4ever723 - September 28, 2008
So.
This is what it feels like to have your heart cut out.
IowaA'sFan - September 28, 2008
just in case there was any doubt about the 2008 A's
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
Who? The 2008 A's?
That is SO living in the past. The 2009 A’s, however, are an RISP-hitting, productive out executing, collective RBI masheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen.
Nico - September 28, 2008
hey, in our future casting fantasies
they could go 162-0
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
Hmm...161-0
There has to be a rainout that isn’t made up.
Nico - September 28, 2008
At least I saved $1.35 today
(goes to write check for KenKo’s charity and enter Feb. 28 broadcast in 2009 Filofax)
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
Anthem, again!
They must know how much I love that commercial.
Jennifer - September 28, 2008
They're trying to console you
since Sweeney ended the season on a K.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Well, you're lucky
because on the radio we just got Kirk and his insulting haircut for the millionth time.
Englishmajor - September 28, 2008
So who have we seen the last of for sure?
Winter meetings might be fun this year!
alox - September 28, 2008
I say Eeeeemeeeel, Foulke, Meyer for sure,
probably Embree, maybe Hannahan, Murphy, Street, and hopefully Crosby.
Nico - September 28, 2008
if Beane can get someone good in a trade
that likely means that we’ll have seen the last of someone we like and think is good.
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
You mean a trade I never saw coming?
That neverI hate it when that happens.Nico - September 28, 2008
I'm full of cheery thoughts right now
oh well…
OaklandSi - September 28, 2008
One positive for Oakland fans: your football team has themselves a QB.
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
What have the Raiders stolen now?
alox - September 28, 2008
A lot of virginities.
thesteve9x - September 28, 2008
Uggghhh....Virgins.
Highly overrated and not much fun.
alox - September 28, 2008
I wouldn't call the #1 overall pick a steal...
If only he had an O-line.
OldhamA - September 28, 2008
whats next...
take out the trash beane…some winter cleaning on the 40 man roster over october/november
lol this is insult to injury..CSN+ switches to giants post game HAHA
uncle lew FSN West is needed!!!
Asfan4ever723 - September 28, 2008
season is over
im bummed
