I've always loved Tim Hudson and I still hold Huddy in high regard. So it's with great sadness that I let everyone know that he's decided to have Tommy John surgery. Hudson was always the leader of the Big Three, at least in my eyes. He was that guy who just had that different mentality that separated him from Zito and Mulder. He was simply "The Bulldog" for the green and gold.
I wish him the best of luck and hope to see him on a big league mound soon. Best of luck, Huddy. We all want to see that devastating sinker soon (as long as it remains in the NL or comes back to the green and gold - hey, one can dream, right?).

When I read he was traded...
That was one of the saddest A’s related days Ive had. Loved that guy.

Damn.
Fate has not been kind to our big three, has it?
Hopefully, Huddy can bounce back from this.

that's a totally lame thing to say XB!
I hope you were kidding…...otherwise I’d have some choice words of the perverse nature for you.

The report this morning
stated that it was a 12 month rehab, good bye for 2009.

He'll be lucky if he plays in 2010,
if at all. I hope he makes a full recovery and has many more effective years as a pitcher. I wonder if the scouts are going to point out his small frame and nod knowingly.

This seems extreme
TJ surgery is more or less a sure thing these days, and in 2010 his baseball age will be 34. There’s no reason to think this is the end of his career.

Tommy John
If memory serves me, pitchers who underwent Tommy John surgery in its early days took around a year to be able to pitch in the majors again, and it wouldn’t be until the season after that til they achieved full recovery. However, that was then. These days, it often takes less than a year and the pitcher is at full strength immediately. I guess they’ve refined the rehab.
Hudson will probably be back on the mound next June or July.

Hope the surgery goes well
and that Tim can make the most of some time with Kim and the kids.
