But no 4 can guard him either…...The only concern is that he is a 3/4 tweener….the skill on offense is better than anyone in this draft though. He will need to be coerced and taught to play D though.
Because Derrick Rose is going to be a Top 3 point guard in the NBA within, what, 2 years? 3 if there’s some sort of unexpected slowed development?
About the only thing Rose can’t do all that well right now is shoot a jumper, and Jason Kidd has made a hall of fame career out of not being able to shoot.
He is extremely skilled with the ball and his feet around the hoop and get get a shot pretty much whenever he wants.
Rose is a stud, I just consider him more of a playmaker than a guy who is going to go and get you 30 a night like I think Beasley can and will soon enough.
That being said….I sure as hell would go Rose #1 if I am Chicago.
Your first comment was just a little vague and I wasn’t sure what you meant.
Rose isn’t going to be a bigtime scorer, but I actually consider that a good thing. He’s a true point guard, not one of the hybrid scoring point guards that are all over the place. Rose is going to make Luol Deng a really, really good player.
John Paxson has a ton of work to do after screwing up the past 2 seasons. If he does anything other than take Rose he should be fired on the spot (but won’t be).
I totally agree on Rose….I love his game and the way he handles himself on the court. I like Deng a lot and you’re right…..he’s going to be magically much better next year.
They both has 2 losses, Embree has blown 3 saves to Foulke’s 0, they have an identical WHIP, and DERA for Foulke is 3.95 and it’s 4.61 for Embree.
Any way you slice it, Foulke’s been better. The only thing I couldn’t find was inherited runners information, so unless Foulke is allowing a lot more of those guys to score, he’s simply been quite a bit better this year.
Yet somehow their WHIP is the same and Embree has a huge edge in K/BB ratio, 3.00 to 1.73. Embree also has an advantage in xFIP, 3.87 to 4.61 for Foulke.
and this is the no duh comment of the day, but Kalas is one freaking awesome announcer. I usually mute the out of town guys, but he’s just a treat to listen to.
how attractive a woman is goes down by at least 50 percent when you find out who they’re with. Shania Twain…Mutt Lange? Paulina Porizkova…Ric Ocasek? Beyonce…Jay-Z? Megan Fox…David Silver? Yuck.
The worst part is that Mutt Lange actually cheated on Shania!!!
No, with a big lead, you go for the play if there's any chance of making it
I didn’t actually see it, just following online, but it sounds to me like he tried to do the right thing. maybe he just bungled it, or there was no chance to get it. but going for the out with a big lead is the right thing to do
with the first pick in the draft
I take Derrick Rose. Zonis, you are now on the clock.

Screw the BS reports about being immature…he is 19

What do you mean by "skill on offense" exactly?
Because Derrick Rose is going to be a Top 3 point guard in the NBA within, what, 2 years? 3 if there’s some sort of unexpected slowed development?
About the only thing Rose can’t do all that well right now is shoot a jumper, and Jason Kidd has made a hall of fame career out of not being able to shoot.

BigTuna - June 26, 2008
CGSO would have been nice but
Harden not injured in this game = 1000% better
A'sfaninNC - June 26, 2008
I deserve an ace that can pitch more than 150 innings.
first things first
Buck Turgidson - June 26, 2008
He deserves to come out of a game healthy, period.
kbtoyz - June 26, 2008
Can we just acknowledge
that Megan Fox is Rich Harden’s personal mojo readjuster.
sourstuff - June 26, 2008
and that
Jack Hannahan is KbToyz’.
sourstuff - June 26, 2008
I love me some Hannahan...totally hetero though

But just keep them safe for work, please.
Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008

sourstuff - June 26, 2008
True

Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008

sourstuff - June 26, 2008

sourstuff - June 26, 2008

micdog2001 - June 26, 2008
4.5 back!
WaddellCanseco - June 26, 2008
I miss these uneventful wins
If you count 8 innings of shutout ball and 11 Ks as “uneventful.”
Joey C. - June 26, 2008
I hope Ryan Sweeney returns soon... but right on Rich Harden! What a stud!
jwnewman - June 26, 2008
who is megan fox?
xbhaskarx - June 26, 2008
fail!
sourstuff - June 26, 2008
google that shit! She is the hot babe from the Transformers movie...
jwnewman - June 26, 2008
The bitch in Transformers.
Is engaged to Brian Austin Green
Jennifer - June 26, 2008
"Bitch"?
Jealous?
Joey C. - June 26, 2008
And like 65 percent of her body is covered in tats
No thank you.
Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008
That's 65 going on 70!
WaddellCanseco - June 26, 2008
who is brian austin green?
i assumed she was like a baseball sideline reporter or something. why is she in the game thread?
xbhaskarx - June 26, 2008
The mention of her brings Harden good luck
WaddellCanseco - June 26, 2008
oh well then, carry on talking about megan fox.
xbhaskarx - June 26, 2008
David Silver from 90210
OaktownPower - June 26, 2008
Yeah
how attractive a woman is goes down by at least 50 percent when you find out who they’re with. Shania Twain…Mutt Lange? Paulina Porizkova…Ric Ocasek? Beyonce…Jay-Z? Megan Fox…David Silver? Yuck.
The worst part is that Mutt Lange actually cheated on Shania!!!
Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008
There's a person named Mutt Lange?
WaddellCanseco - June 26, 2008
Jamie Kotsay... Mark Kotsay?
Joey C. - June 26, 2008
Kotsay is a stud
Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008
I can see the Jay Z appeal...
But the other ones? Awful.
OaktownPower - June 26, 2008
My wife is grossed out by him
It’s kind of the beauty and the beast syndrome with these dudes and ladies.
Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008
Brian Austin Green
90210, yeah? Conan O’Brien tells me that he served very courageously in the Korean War.
Joey C. - June 26, 2008
Love the series win
Tyler Bleszinski - June 26, 2008
sweep the gigantes
AGAIN
KCB58 - June 26, 2008
What happend to Sweeney? Whats the Megan Fox Thing?
asfan777 - June 26, 2008
411
Sweeney: Twisted ankle sliding into home, taken out of the game, but walking under his own power.
Fox: Transformers hottie with questionable acting ability.
Joey C. - June 26, 2008
On the 3 bagger in the 9th
Cust’s jump yesterday would of had that shit for an out, well maybe not but it would have been close
A'sfaninNC - June 26, 2008
do not attempt!
just back up and play off the wall left fielders!! MAN!
micdog2001 - June 26, 2008
No, with a big lead, you go for the play if there's any chance of making it
I didn’t actually see it, just following online, but it sounds to me like he tried to do the right thing. maybe he just bungled it, or there was no chance to get it. but going for the out with a big lead is the right thing to do
eastcoasta'sfan - June 26, 2008
The phillies TV announcer (the NFL video guy)
likes to assume the runner from second will score. Both were really close plays but he made them seem like an easy run.
micdog2001 - June 26, 2008
you can check out the play that Sweeney was hurt on on Gameday
micdog2001 - June 26, 2008
So what was Harden's pitch count?
Was a CGSO totally out of the question?
mikev - June 26, 2008
Not at all...but no reason to stretch him.
baseballgirl - June 26, 2008
RECAP UP!!!!!
