ESPN E60 said Kurt was actually a natural left handed hitter, but he was too much of a threat to the other little leaguers so he now hits right handed. What could have been.
I just remebered that wasn’t in the movie (Fight Club) it was in the book. That line was replaced by, I haven’t been fucked like that since grade school.

Acording to my great sources at AN he is a former alcoholic. Once a drunk always a drunk. Drunks swear a lot. Which is why I scream FUCK just like Jack does when he strikes out.
I make fun of him just like I make fun of Josh Hamilton. I have been around enough people who abuse substances through my life. I have little pity for people who throw away their talents on their vices.
You are entitled to that opinion, but I have little to no sympothy for those who seek refuge in their vices and potentialy ruin their chance of doing something productive with their lives.
Sorry you are offended by my joke, but I have seen friends ruin their lives by snorting any kinds of prescription pills they can get their hands on. I lost compassion for those who abuse substances. It is great that Jack has “recovered”, but it doesn’t change my outlook on those who act like jack asses and abuse drugs.
Then why make fun of the guy who is atoning for his mistakes?
It makes no sense to criticize someone who has taken responsibility for a mistake he’s made in the past. And it’s been like 6 or 7 years, it’s not even relevant discussion right now. But whatever.
I realize people make mistakes and good for him that he is playing major league baseball after being an alcoholic, but like I said I have no sympathy for those who abuse drugs. I even think it is appropriate to poke fun at the guy for the mistakes he has made.

mrrickyg - May 25, 2008
btw hannahan got robbed earlier, should have been 3B not error
mrrickyg - May 25, 2008
That hit Manny in the glove, that was less debatable than the Brown non error
theblackpearl - May 25, 2008
Not only did it hit him in the glove
He should’ve just camped under the damn thing.
thejd44 - May 25, 2008
Maybe Manny will call up the scorer and argue that it should be a hit
doctorK - May 25, 2008
manny was going back on a very well hit ball, reaching across his body, and fighting the sun.
that was an example of manny being athletic enough to put a glove on the ball, but not having the defensive skills to make the play.
mrrickyg - May 25, 2008
Loaiza DFA
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
NOOOOOO!
How DARE the snapfish pic be of some annoying Red Sux mascot.
doctorK - May 25, 2008
yeah that was annoying
drink409 - May 25, 2008
3 up 3 down please
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
Geren needs to have a quick hook here
I don’t mind Blanton starting the inning, but he can’t stick around long if any runner gets aboard.
bear88 - May 25, 2008
agreed
He looked awful starting the 5th, but fantastic finishing it.
monkeyball - May 25, 2008
Cupcakes starting the 6th. Better be a short hook.
thejd44 - May 25, 2008
That was a good hook he threw there to
Drew
Trainman - May 25, 2008

Keep it up, Joe

Cupcakes!!! Where have you been?!
pam5981 - May 25, 2008
Let him pitch the 7th!
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE GEREN LEFT HIM IN HE WAS OBVIOUSLY FINISHED AFTER FIVE
Oh… wait.
mikev - May 25, 2008
After 5? He was done after 4.1!
Silly Geren.

Trainman - May 25, 2008

thejd44 - May 25, 2008

mrrickyg - May 25, 2008

miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
Does Blanton start the 7th?
thejd44 - May 25, 2008
NO!
jackcustismyhero32 - May 25, 2008
Over 100 pitches
Doubtful
Trainman - May 25, 2008
what if you put a double double in front of him?
dathirdeck - May 25, 2008
ok...but only if it comes with some animal style fries and a milk shake
drink409 - May 25, 2008
i so can't handle animal fries
mrrickyg - May 25, 2008
blanton should be a livan guy who you can leave out there for 130 pitches
but he seems to lose it mentally before he loses his stuff.
mrrickyg - May 25, 2008
I suppose, but again, with a very quick hook
I would say no if the Red Sox sluggers were starting the inning. Then again, Blanton has struggled against the bottom of the lineup.
With an off day tomorrow, Geren doesn’t need to rest his best relievers.
bear88 - May 25, 2008
All his best relievers are getting rest, anyway via the DL
theblackpearl - May 25, 2008
True
That’s why Foulke is coming in.
bear88 - May 25, 2008
What a different inning that was compared to the last
Trainman - May 25, 2008
It helps to force Lugy to swing the bat
doctorK - May 25, 2008

He’s our best bet against the “big boppers”. Let him face Manny and Lowell, then go to Embree for J.D. Drew.
Nico - May 25, 2008
I think Blanton should pitch to him. Or we could have Kotsay come back and pitch to him.

Blanton is still mediocre.. and Geren should not be running for Frank in the 7th inning
madmongoose - May 25, 2008
wtf, blanton is not mediocre
but you’re right about frank.
xbhaskarx - May 25, 2008
i'm thankful he only gave up the three

Defensive replacements pay off!
mikeA - May 25, 2008
Sweeney's getting better in CF, but it still looks like
he gets much better reads on the ball when he’s in LF/RF.
Nico - May 25, 2008
he's hardly made any plays that I've seen in RF
so I have no idea. Tough to tell on tv anyway.
mikeA - May 25, 2008
Defensive replacements do NOT pay off..
You’re telling the other team that you’re trying not to lose the game…
dathirdeck - May 25, 2008
Yup, we just told Youk, and now he's in the dugout!
mikeA - May 25, 2008
right, because you have the lead already
xbhaskarx - May 25, 2008
I think you stop being aggresive...
dathirdeck - May 25, 2008
okay, so trying to win games is not "aggressive"
i’d rather win than be aggressive.
xbhaskarx - May 25, 2008
Okay, but Cust is one of the last batters due up in the 8th

theblackpearl - May 25, 2008

LiZaRdReVoLuTiOn - May 25, 2008
He is a drunk. Makes sense
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
?
[squints]
paradox - May 25, 2008
Hannahan had a drinking problem 6 or 7 years ago....
been sober since his sophomore year. And this idiot is making fun of him!

LiZaRdReVoLuTiOn - May 25, 2008
Acording to my great sources at AN he is a former alcoholic. Once a drunk always a drunk. Drunks swear a lot. Which is why I scream FUCK just like Jack does when he strikes out.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
Don't over-generalize or anything.
pam5981 - May 25, 2008
I make fun of him just like I make fun of Josh Hamilton. I have been around enough people who abuse substances through my life. I have little pity for people who throw away their talents on their vices.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
So you make fun of guys that recover and stay sober?
Wow, that makes a lot of sense.
baseb3383 - May 25, 2008
Hey good for him. He makes a ton of money and has made his “disease” known to his fans. Hope he has thicker skin they you guys do.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
We have thick skin.
We just think you’re being an ass.
pam5981 - May 25, 2008
agreed!
LiZaRdReVoLuTiOn - May 25, 2008
You are entitled to that opinion, but I have little to no sympothy for those who seek refuge in their vices and potentialy ruin their chance of doing something productive with their lives.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
Please quit while you are behind
doctorK - May 25, 2008
I refuse to censor my comments.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
well it looks like he's doing pretty good for himself now! doesn't it?
LiZaRdReVoLuTiOn - May 25, 2008
totally lost respect for you.
LiZaRdReVoLuTiOn - May 25, 2008
Sorry you are offended by my joke, but I have seen friends ruin their lives by snorting any kinds of prescription pills they can get their hands on. I lost compassion for those who abuse substances. It is great that Jack has “recovered”, but it doesn’t change my outlook on those who act like jack asses and abuse drugs.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
Then why make fun of the guy who is atoning for his mistakes?
It makes no sense to criticize someone who has taken responsibility for a mistake he’s made in the past. And it’s been like 6 or 7 years, it’s not even relevant discussion right now. But whatever.
baseb3383 - May 25, 2008
I realize people make mistakes and good for him that he is playing major league baseball after being an alcoholic, but like I said I have no sympathy for those who abuse drugs. I even think it is appropriate to poke fun at the guy for the mistakes he has made.
miggyk2 - May 25, 2008
I think Jack is a great story

Go White Sox (for one night only)
HRH - May 25, 2008
I remember that song from the James Bond movies...
“For one night only. Only for us. We see (in our team) what no one else can see. No one’s breaking free (Angels). For one night only…”
-Sheena Easton (2008 redux)
ohtobe21likehuston - May 25, 2008
Nice series,
Nothing better than sweeping the red sox and keep all those bandwagoners quiet
asfansince1989 - May 25, 2008
NOTHING? NOTHING IS BETTER?
It is pretty damn sweet to shut those bastards down. Of course my boss is a Red Sox fan so I’ll have to downplay my excitement on Tuesday.
ohtobe21likehuston - May 25, 2008
Ok, you got me
You could also win the lottery this weekend, and then going into work next week, quit, and wave the sweep in your boss’ face (only if he/she deserves it)
asfansince1989 - May 25, 2008
AMEN!!
Nothing sweeter than sweeping the Sox , and sending those no-class clowns that call themselves fans HOME!!!!!
Vacafan - May 25, 2008
Hey guys, just here to post

Feels even better to beat a team like the Red Sox. :)
