It's as if the A's work tirelessly to not score runs

Bases loaded, no outs: Rajai Davis just stands at the plate.

Double to the wall in center: Hanahan doesn’t score from second.

Thomas pinch hits: Stares at a meat fastball on the first pitch.

Duke struck out before Davis stood there
and luck running against the A's

Brown got good wood on the ball, but Betancourt made a nice play for the third out

as opposed to earlier in the season, with Brown getting some very bloopy rbi hits

Petit is kicking ass out there
better than murphy has done
Much, much, much better.
Gaudin - nice play!
"not going to be Hanley Ramirez"

hahahaha

In hindsight - and it's only hindsight - I wonder

if Thomas was the best choice in the 6th, given that we just needed contact to tie it up. Maybe Barton or R. Sweeney would have been the best call there – not that we had anyone ideal.

That was only Frank's 14th K of the year in 66 AB

That’s over 125 in 600 ABs… that’s not that good for contact

Barton 36 in 148, Ryan 18 in 94

I’m not seeing a whole lot of improvement there

Dear Bob Geren,

PLAY BOWEN MORE OFTEN PLEASE

Sweet Jesus, please score here

Maybe even pinch run.

Wow Bowen!
Bowen Arrow!!
damn it, i was a second away from posting that! Nice
Hey nice Bowen
We have to score here!!
Go Petit!!!!!!!!!!!!
First ML RBI....
First ML K
Bowen you IDIOT!

Stay at First! What are you doing getting in scoring position! You know thats the death nail in the A’s coffin!

Dear Mr. Petit:

If you get the RBI here, I will never call you “Georgio” again.

I like "Georgio
You're in luck :-)
if Petit walks here

then a GIDP is 100% absolute.

Must score

Nice job Bowen

Long fly ball please

Sorry Georgio.

That is unfair

I am telling you, its because Bowen got in RISP!
Petit K's
Just when I was getting ready

to compare him to Mike Rouse.

That was ball 4.

Petit got fucked.

Maybe high? Looked pretty damn good to me though. Just a great pitch 3-2

definitely high

but apparently the high strike is being called now, because a high FB was called strike 2 with Barton hitting.

Haha yea that pitch looked like shit to Daric.

C'mon Daric!
Argh! Stupid A's Offense!

If we get into RISP, we can’t score.

But if we get someone on First, we GIDP every time!

Come on Dale
Barton will...

a) K
b) Flyout
c) Groundout

I vote

WP

d) turn into Dan Johnson

Barton will get a hit
Time for a base hit.

Right field.

Sooooo predictable.
gone to cry
Most frustrating game of the year
Most frustrating since...

Oh, Friday. We could have and should have swept this series. Today: 11 hits with what, a triple and two doubles? Two runs.

Oh, I forgot the HR too

FUCK Blane Boyer. Piece of shit.

oblique is not impressed.
NOW this game is making me angry!
Two runs 11 hits

a homerun, a triple, several doubles.

How is this fucking possible?

Meanwhile, Atlanta bats for about two and a half minutes before we get treated to another excruciating 10-15 of futility.

It is possible because they are fucking worthless for the most part

and don’t inspire any confidence.

Petit got fucked on that call but Barton just plain fucking sucked as per usual

Daric Barton!

:) way to go bud

CHANNEL CHANGE = Spongebob!

He’s a lot more of man and a helluva lot more fun to watch than these god damn sorry excuses for major league hitters!

I speet on your athleticism, Athletics! May your mothers always get warts! You’re a nightmare to me!

How did Hannnanananannanhanahan not score on Gregorio’s double?

Kotsay looked like he was gonna make the catch, so I think he was closer to 2B to tag up.

But Hannahan didn’t go halfway or else he woulda scored.

Because he thought Kotsay caught it and went back to tag.
I don't know either

the ball is at the wall (400 foot mark)

He should have been two thirds the way to third and trotted home.

It seems like once he saw the ball hit even if he was on second base he could have scored. Kotsay must have gotten it in pretty quickly. Obviously one out he doesn’t want to get gunned out at the dish.

Wait, did someone get ejected

what are they talking about, I was (trying) not (to) pay attention.

crapcrapcrap
Embree is fucking terrible.

That is all

Embree eh? Must not want to keep the game close.
Why does GEren still trust this guy?

I hate the A’s

I hurried back from work to see this shit?
Atl will score at least 2 here

and we wil get two in the top half and fall short

This is SHIT for a currently very SHITTY team

Walk and set up the DP

Expression of anger and frustration!

Insulting comment about an A’s pitcher!

Disparaging remark about A’s hitting!

Indication of doubt about Geren’s ability to handle the team!

Denouncement of Billy Beane!
Inappropriate wry political parallel
Extrapolations and projection of a last place finish!
Well, in fairness

A 2-7 road trip, with no more than 2 runs scored in any of the 7 losses (assuming no runs in the 9th)...do you really expect people to smile and wave their pom-poms?

Nice. Now two out single.

First time that's ever worked
Perfect pitch, though
Luckily Francouer is a complete hacker.

Pop out please.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

lol

hah.

Wasn’t the base knock inevitable?

All that work for that...
Well, that's just peachy.
EVERYTHING in Atlanta is peachy...

...or at least Peachtree.

Did we really think that it was going to end differantly?
i guarantee we score

two runs in the 9th.

And then two more?
You know who was good?

Casilla.

Devine and Brown too
Brown not so much
Basically everybody not named Embree?
Especially Street and Duscherererererererer

Go kill yourself Embree

Was there any doubt that would happen

They cannot say they didn’t deserve to lose this game

well, fiddle-dee

and frankly Geren, I don’t give a damn.

We'll always have Tara.
I cant put all the blame on the pitchers though

they have to pitch every inning of every game perfectly for a chance to win.

2 runs off 11 hits.

Miserable.

Haha Bobby Cox just licked the baseball. Old men are crazy.

Unfortunately true

Omar Infante > Frank Thomas

:)

nice to see I’m not the only one who says ridiculously irrational things when the A’s lose like this.

Kill Billy Beane!

And his little soccer ball too!

It's true

The A’s have pitched well enough to win every game on the road trip.

....and that's why he's a platoon player
Baaaaaad Sweeney.
I'm never getting mushrooms on a pizza again.
can A's get a couple of runs here?
Sure we can.

Then lets load the bases and GIDP!

be careful what you wish for
walks, runner on first

c’mon old Sweeney!

Chavy HR!
right result -- wrong game
11 hits and only 2 runs. What the Muff?
fly ball - game over

A’s now .500 on the road for 2008

2-7 wow. Hopefully they can turn it around against the Devil Rays.

oh well

We have to expect they’re going to have stretches like this.

Icky roadtrip

Does anyone know what time the team plane comes in tonight? Anyone want to go out and help lift their spirits?

Does throwing rocks count?
Ooooh, an airplane question!

Track today’s A’s charter flight

(That will be revised; they won’t get out of Atlanta at 5:56)

a bunch of us did that

when they returned from the 2006 ALCS. I remember that we waited for them at the coliseum, since they charter lands in a private area in the airport that’s difficult to access.

Yes, it might be a little early in the season to do the airport stalking
might stick around to hear

the carping on Buan’s show for the heck of it.

buan has really

gone downhill

was he ever up?
It's been ages since I've listened

but back in ~2001-2003 I liked Buan a lot. Fun guy.

Since Petit aquitted himself very well

Geren will make sure he sits tomorrow in favor of Murphy

Don't you just know it
Yay

We get Shields and Kazmir next series. Oh joy.

The Rays will sweep.

If the A’s can’t beat Jo-Jo Reyes, they’re sure as hell ain’t going to beat those guys. I am going to go with the magic number #4. As in the A’s will only score 4 runs for the series against the Rays.

doesn't always work that way

they often lose to pitchers they should beat, and vice versa

in any event, I’ll be there for the game tomorrow night…looking forward to it

That's true...

But you have to like their chances. I don’t see the A’s breaking out of their hittting slump anytime soon, and especially not against Shields and Kazmir.

I think the Rays are a very good team

but I wouldn’t say the A’s are more or less likely to hit against them than against other clubs with good pitching. After all, most good pitchers have subpar outings from time to time. The Rays have always been tought at home, less so on the road….and the A’s pitching isn’t too shabby either. Hopefully they can keep it close, and get some luck going their way.

I’m just going to hope for the best.
