3-0 A's after 7 innings, as A's pitchers are looking for back-to-back shutouts, and Kotsay is pursuing an outside shot at the cycle (he has the HR and the triple, and he'll lead off the 8th, but can he get 2 more ABs?)...
LET'S GO A'S!

A's on TV in San Leandro
I'm in San Leandro and my cable 11 - tv guide channel - just switched over to the game!!!!GoldeeLocks - April 8, 2006
And I was just sittin' here wonderin'...
...whether the game was on yet in San Leandro.GreenNGoldSooner - April 8, 2006
only by radio
until the a few minutes ago. I guess I'll take an inning or two on TV - better than nothing, I guess!GoldeeLocks - April 8, 2006
Let's hope not
Unless the A's bat around, I don't want Kots to get another AB.Wooka - April 8, 2006
How'd you feel watching Barry tonight, Nico??
If Harden's on tomorrow, the M's may go like 21 innings against our 3 starters with no runs and 5 hits.oaktoon - April 8, 2006
Barry was FITZ tonight.
Most of the time anyway. If he can keep this up, he'll be fine.
Tom @ Athletics Nation - April 8, 2006
i remember
when the A's suffered something like that last season. that wasnt a fun monthOAKobsession - April 8, 2006
I didn't watch it
BECAUSE COMCAST DIDN'T SHOW IT, BECAUSE THEY SUCK MONEYBALLS, MONKEYBALLS, AND MONKEYBALL'S BALLS!!!!!!!!!!But it sounds like he pitched great.
Nico - April 8, 2006
Hey Nico
Tell us how you really feel.Chavinator - April 8, 2006
but please don't tell us how monkeyball feels
Poppy - April 8, 2006

A Coors Light commercial I'd like to see
The "Silver Bullet Train" zips by a crowded subway station, everybody gets dusted with snow and is provided with a cool, cold, Coors Light in their hand, upon which everybody is arrested for drinking in public.OaktownTribesman - April 8, 2006
LOL
Chavinator - April 8, 2006
hah
by the way, the new coors ad is a ripoff of the final scene from "the last days of disco" which also has people spontaneously dancing to love train both in a subway car and a station...xbhaskarx - April 8, 2006
Just looked at the box score
This looks like Barry pitched a very good game this evening except for the fact that he only lasted 6. However if he could pitch six shotout inning every time I'd take it.skwid - April 8, 2006
That was...uh...quick.
Chavinator - April 8, 2006
crosby
was robbed. the second and 3rd strike calls were questionable.Backspin - April 8, 2006

how is that not a strike and he's been ringing us up on the black all night. boooo!!!!Backspin - April 8, 2006
Farewell, Dan Wilson!
Somehow we haven't discussed Wilson much, despite tonight's SafeCo festivities (unless I missed it in the first thread). The Mariners' announcers are currently going on about him, but in oddly lukewarm ways. He was "consistent." Always pleasant. He helped pitchers gain confidence.Any Dan Wilson memories? Anybody?
GreenNGoldSooner - April 8, 2006

Lets get through this inning.oak1 - April 8, 2006

Memo to DJ that that's where
he's been hitting it?Probably for Dan Wilson.
Chavinator - April 8, 2006
So, does this mean...
we are going to lose the first and win the rest in the series now? I'd take it lolI seriously can't wait to see where this team is at the end of may. I don't think there will be that lag this season before they turn it on. This team is looking very, very good. Bradley is look like exactly what they needed last year and Kotsay is back as he was in the first couple months last year. Fun Fun Fun!
I can't wait for the Angels of The OC come to town. I will be there >:)

First Decent...
Cut Frank has had this series...Since his first AB home run, he's 1 for 17. Do you sit him tomorrow and have him think about it for almost three full days until Tuesday night's game at Minnesota??compy75 - April 8, 2006
yes, but...
DJ is the other guy really struggling right now. If Kielty were here, you could give them both a day off.oaktoon - April 8, 2006
IMHO...
I don't want FT playing one single game vs. the Twins...The thought of him on astroturf scares the sh*t outta me...
OaklandInvader - April 8, 2006
Seconded
Chavinator - April 8, 2006
I don't like the thought of Kotsay, Bradley,
or Thomas playing on astroturf. :)Sharon - April 8, 2006
great game by zito
keep it rolling.Harden next. cooool
haroldMD - April 8, 2006
Mind you..
That question supports my position that he should play tomorrow....if he feels ok.compy75 - April 8, 2006
How is Johnson 0-3 again?!
Isn't that statistically impossible or something?OaktownRajah - April 8, 2006
he's the only one I'm worried about
Ellis-Payton-Thomas-Kendall all aren't hitting either, but they're vets and the hits will come.I hope DJ doesn't lose confidence with a start like this.

Minor Announcers Gripe
about Street being on the rubber.Other than that, they've been a good announcing crew, not cherry-picking anything, even Zito's 2 hit batters.

VICTORY!!!
