Open Thread: Game 6 - A's at Seattle (cont.)

3-0 A's after 7 innings, as A's pitchers are looking for back-to-back shutouts, and Kotsay is pursuing an outside shot at the cycle (he has the HR and the triple, and he'll lead off the 8th, but can he get 2 more ABs?)...

LET'S GO A'S!

A's on TV in San Leandro
I'm in San Leandro and my cable 11 - tv guide channel - just switched over to the game!!!!
And I was just sittin' here wonderin'...
...whether the game was on yet in San Leandro.
only by radio
until the a few minutes ago.  I guess I'll take an inning or two on TV - better than nothing, I guess!
Let's hope not
Unless the A's bat around, I don't want Kots to get another AB.
How'd you feel watching Barry tonight, Nico??
If Harden's on tomorrow, the M's may go like 21 innings against our 3 starters with no runs and 5 hits.
Barry was FITZ tonight.
Most of the time anyway.

If he can keep this up, he'll be fine.

i remember
when the A's suffered something like that last season. that wasnt a fun month
I didn't watch it
BECAUSE COMCAST DIDN'T SHOW IT, BECAUSE THEY SUCK MONEYBALLS, MONKEYBALLS, AND MONKEYBALL'S BALLS!!!!!!!!!!

But it sounds like he pitched great.

Hey Nico
Tell us how you really feel.
but please don't tell us how monkeyball feels
or how monkeyball's balls feel...
A Coors Light commercial I'd like to see
The "Silver Bullet Train" zips by a crowded subway station, everybody gets dusted with snow and is provided with a cool, cold, Coors Light in their hand, upon which everybody is arrested for drinking in public.
LOL
hah
by the way, the new coors ad is a ripoff of the final scene from "the last days of disco" which also has people spontaneously dancing to love train both in a subway car and a station...
Just looked at the box score
This looks like Barry pitched a very good game this evening except for the fact that he only lasted 6.  However if he could pitch six shotout inning every time I'd take it.
That was...uh...quick.
crosby
was robbed.  the second and 3rd strike calls were questionable.
Hot A's fans in Seattle!
Nice!
Must be wives/gf's
Hey Nico, If this new thread was brought to us
by Comcast, You wouldn't be getting it would you.
Kiko Power.
walks
Do the Mariners just not have any patience or are the A's pitchers doing that well the last two nights?
A walk?
To WFB?
ok
how is that not a strike and he's been ringing us up on the black all night.  boooo!!!!
Farewell, Dan Wilson!
Somehow we haven't discussed Wilson much, despite tonight's SafeCo festivities (unless I missed it in the first thread).  The Mariners' announcers are currently going on about him, but in oddly lukewarm ways.  He was "consistent." Always pleasant.  He helped pitchers gain confidence.

Any Dan Wilson memories?  Anybody?

Come on Kennedy!
Lets get through this inning.
Kennedy is coming in
<HIDES>
........RicarJoe rinKen is in.

Eeep.

I can see you.
Looked OK to me...
What are you so worried about? :)
I don't trust him.
But a few more outings like that may help fix that. Slightly.
Where is
Panorama City in Cali?
Apparently just north of Van Nuys
Google maps is the best!

True dat.

Double True!

all right!
let's go Farva!
C'mon Joe...
Prove your LOOGy-ness!
Woop Woop!
Una Mas!
one more inning to go!
Can anyone plz tell me why
it says "DAN" right behind second base in big white letters? What the hell is that?
It's Dan Wilson Farewell Nite
n/m
It was Dan Wilson Appreciation Night...
It was Dan Wilson day
he made a speech at the beginning of the game and everything
Oh I see.
Who is Dan Wilson?
Recently retired M's catcher
...who actually came back from surgery to play a symbolic last inning for the Mariners against the A's last September 30.
Dan Wilson farewell night
he was the mariner's catcher for long time
Memo to DJ that that's where
he's been hitting it?

Probably for Dan Wilson.

So, does this mean...
we are going to lose the first and win the rest in the series now? I'd take it  lol

I seriously can't wait to see where this team is at the end of may. I don't think there will be that lag this season before they turn it on. This team is looking very, very good. Bradley is look like exactly what they needed last year and Kotsay is back as he was in the first couple months last year. Fun Fun Fun!

I can't wait for the Angels of The OC come to town. I will be there  >:)

damn
frank just missed hitting an oppo jack
the kid is coming to close it.
c'mon Huston
It;s a Street Sighting!
Here he comes!
Let's go Babyface.
First Decent...
Cut Frank has had this series...Since his first AB home run, he's 1 for 17. Do you sit him tomorrow and have him think about it for almost three full days until Tuesday night's game at Minnesota??
yes, but...
DJ is the other guy really struggling right now. If Kielty were here, you could give them both a day off.
IMHO...
I don't want FT playing one single game vs. the Twins...

The thought of him on astroturf scares the sh*t outta me...

Seconded
I don't like the thought of Kotsay, Bradley,
or Thomas playing on astroturf. :)
great game by zito
keep it rolling.
Harden next. cooool
Mind you..
That question supports my position that he should play tomorrow....if he feels ok.
How is Johnson 0-3 again?!
Isn't that statistically impossible or something?
he's the only one I'm worried about
Ellis-Payton-Thomas-Kendall all aren't hitting either, but they're vets and the hits will come.

I hope DJ doesn't lose confidence with a start like this.

didn't charles thomas
start off 0-april last year?
Wow
Did anyone hear Lopez?
What did he say?
dummy
dude's a dummy
Well...
It rhymes with duck, and I'm sure it's what many AN ladies would love to do with Huston.
That made me laugh out loud...
Now my parents want to see what im laughing at......
uh-oh!
Quick, cover the screen!
wish him luck?
I did
I'm still blushing with prim horror.
What did he say?!
sounded like something vehement
with one syllable.

Maybe I actually just heard the strike called.

Yep
It's time for someone's nap
<long whistle>
Whew!
Minor Announcers Gripe
about Street being on the rubber.

Other than that, they've been a good announcing crew, not cherry-picking anything, even Zito's 2 hit batters.

Yikes....that would have sucked
...though, assuming we'd still eventually win, not so much as Comcast, apparently.
GAME. OVAH!
Hoo-rah!

Go A's!

Back-to-back shutouts.
Wow.

And we got Harden going tomorrow.

HeheheeheheeheeeeHAHEHEHEHAH!

Pen pretty amazing
after the throwaway opener, I think they've given up 1 run in their last 15 IP.
Nice win...
...very competent pitching outing.

Just what I like!

let's see Harden top the last two nights ... scrub
Its all set up for trifecta shutouts...
As long as Harden throws "Ghost" pitches, we should be golden (and green).
Kotsay (& i guess the rest of 'em)
call thier new batting coach Gerald...

What no Gerry Perry?

Kots says Opening Night was...
"...a bit of a disappointment."

Uh, yeah. A bit.

When Hatte retires,
I want a farewell night for him.

I miss that guy so much.

broke an oakland A's record today!
least amount of hits given up in two consecutive games! :)
