The first thread is history, and Felix Hernandez appears to be next. 76 pitches through 4 shutout innings have Hernandez 0-0 with Blanton and the A's...
"That's the most patient team I ever faced in my professional career," said Baltimore rookie starter John Maine, who was chased by Johnson's bases-loaded walk in the fifth. "They wait for their pitch, and they'll even take a strike and then wait for their pitch later in the count.
it's especially pathetic because there were two outs. Bradley should be running at the crack of the bat, and he has absolutely no real reason even to look back to see if it's a homer, a ball off the wall, or an out. His job is exactly the same no matter what.
If the A's have a kangaroo court, Bradley should get a life sentence.
He was also in "no-man's-land" when he scored the winning run against NY on Scutaro's hit. With less than two outs, the left-fielder had a chance to catch it but Bradley was almost at third when he realized the ball was not going to be caught.
Chavvy looks very tentative chasing flyballs in foul territory, both in Safeco and at home. He's been known to make spectacular catches in foul territory, so I don't know where the caution is coming from.
The A's better not lose, because Bradley will be the goat. If the media makes Bradley the goat, we could see some anger management issues.
