The drought is over! Give the Leprechaun some frosted lucky charms!
And take that small ball stuff and shove it. We'd lose 6-2 or 5-2 if we had scratched out a couple runs over the weekend. We need bunches of runs, especially in Fenway.
jeepers i have tried not loggin on to AN even not watching one of the games until it was over, I have tried watching these guy in different bars, to be honest i have tried everything short of eatting chicken (i hate that dirty meat) to get these guys going. all this and all i know is it's out of my hands but not my heart
Bases were loaded, no outs. The count was 3-2, and then Muller [I think that was him, I am so bad with names] hits a bouncing ball RIGHT at Hatteburg. He caught it, was prepared to throw home to get out Ortiz [because he's a slow runner] but instead, the ball popped out of his glove, and goes behind him. Haren runs over to cover first so they could at least get the force out at first, but when Hatteberg raced back to get the ball, he was so rushed that he threw badly to Haren. The ball got past Haren, two runs scored and Muller ran to second.
no, don't pull a tino! a play that gives the other team the win. we can't win unless the other team craps on themselves, so we cant' do it either, SCOTT!
The inning would have been over with a score of 3-2 [damage control] if not for the error[s] and also two bad calls - the first one is debateable but that 3-2 was totally a strike.
if the A's lose, as long as they show some spark to make a slight comeback. It's annoying when we get down early and we are forced to watch a team suffer along, mercifully hoping for the game to end.
In Scouting News: Todd Helton just has an RBI double, do we still want him? [I'm not being serious, I know he's way too expensive.] Their announcers [or maybe it's the Braves announcers, I honestly don't know] mentioned something about how the Rockies "change philosophy" each year. Their current idea is to "bring up youngsters from their farm system and let them play at the big league level." It seems to be working for their hitters [Barmes, Hawpe, Miles, Holliday?] although their pitching still needs lots of help. Maybe if we did a team merge with the Rockies...
Our hitters would benefit from hitting in Coors - if the theory that they're getting really unlucky and that their fly balls/line drives are caught more often then they 'should' be is correct. But I was thinking more along the lines of taking all of the Young Rockies Power Hitters, putting them with our pitchers and making one super team!
NESN (?) Friday??? I flipped it on after the A's game and of the "sideline" guy was in the stands... telling jokes. The guys in the booth didn't do anything except laugh for an entire inning and one guy actually fell out of his chair. One of the jokes were: Why did the golf bring two pairs of pants? Because he had a hole in one.
Macha will pull a Ozzie Gullien and punch a hole in the clubhouse wall? I can't believe such a mild-manner man would do such a thing...but how I wish so!
the NESN broadcast and the announcers seemed to agree that the call was bad but good grief is that all the fire Macha can muster over an unnecessary tossing?
this is the worst season so far since 99. we lost today and we're obviously gunna lost tomorrow with saarloos on the mound. we'll be 5 games below .500. man, i feel like crying
the A's are the Lovely Ladies and they make their opponent (Texas, Boston) seem like the American Dreams. Anyone remember these teams from that NES game called Baseball Stars? One of THE best baseball games in the United States of American History...
I kinda agree, but the one thing I'd say that is if you say a part of his hitting slump is due to AL adjustment, this way he should get used to things faster, and become the player we traded for sooner rather than later.
Bronson Arroyo is soooooooo fine. He needs to meet up with Zito and they can start a band. I've been pushing for More Melhuse since like a week and a half into the season. Meanwhile, Meridith hasn't been doing too great for the Red Sox, has he?
but apparently trying to pull the ball when you are in a slump isn't a good idea, since you should go opposite field...but this is all according to the dogma of Ray Fosse.
HE DEFINITELY STANDS WAY TOO FAR.. HE CANNOT REACH THE OUTSIDE PITCH. I THINK I CAN EVEN PITCH ONE ON THE BLACK AND GET HIM TO POP OUT TO LEFT OR ROLL OVER AND GROUND OUT.
We don't have the money to sign the bigtime OBP guys, and everyone is onto the philosophy now. We are in a rebuilding year. The new owner needs to get off his wallet and spend some.
or even roster shakeups because BB and Co. are working on finding the next great inefficiency that will be exploited just before the trading deadline, propelling us into the playoffs.
That was a good outing for him. Yeah, it was pointless, but seeing as his troubles seem mental, a shut-out inning at Fenway might do his confidence a little good.
With Calero on the off we need Cruz to get his head straight fast.
root canal procedure is over...don't chew any peanuts on that side of your mouth...we'll put the crown on that tooth tomorrow when Saarloos is pitching
I need Blez to put all of this in perspective - it's one of his great accomplishments (besides AN itself). Right now I mourn the day the decision was made to let Miggy walk and sign Chavez for almost the same amount of money. Don't get me wrong - he's a great talent - but all of this head trip stuff is just mind-numbing. This is a game of passion - it needs cheerleaders and rah rah guys. Hokey but true. This team misses that passion. I know this will work itself out in time - Hatteberg will retire and move to the front office, Johnson will arrive at first, Crosby will return, Kendell will learn this league, the pitchers will eventually settle down. The present day is just too painful to watch. Errors on top of errors, Chavez so out of it his therapist must need a therapist, just nothing clicking. It needs a spark - a blowtorch is more what I had in mind - and I know Beane will apply it to the places it's needed the most. Please let it be soon!!!!!
Listening to Rober Buan show on KFRC....it struck me funny about the ad for the motivational speaker Mary Lou So and So, the gymnast and her talk including "over active bladder" "having to go 25 times a day" (wow). Hey, I know its serious for folks but the adolecense in me busted a gut at the promo on the radio. especially the "life beyond the bathroom" bit. oh, well, some life I got tonight.
macha needs 2 bunt more. ........lineup change!!!
the a's should start bunting more..alot more...when they get a leadoff hitter on base..they should bunt.......they need to spark this offenselineup should be... crosby swisher return

Too Painful to Watch
Please let it be soon!!!!!As in ColoradoSprings - May 9, 2005

Listening to Rober Buan show on KFRC....it struck me funny about the ad for the motivational speaker Mary Lou So and So, the gymnast and her talk including "over active bladder" "having to go 25 times a day" (wow). Hey, I know its serious for folks but the adolecense in me busted a gut at the promo on the radio. especially the "life beyond the bathroom" bit. oh, well, some life I got tonight.ak_A - May 9, 2005
